                                            The service starting with a warm greeting when we entered the restaurant was a wonderful beginning to the birthday celebration. We received prompt and attentive service from beginning to end. The food was delicious. Overall a delightful experience. We will be returning.

                                            Beautiful historic building, dining room was buzzing with energy. Pop overs were out of this world. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing and so was the baked mac and cheese and fries. Delicious desserts and good wine, beer and cocktail menus. Efficient, friendly and helpful service with good recommendations on certain dishes.

                                            I chose Wayfare for a casual business dinner and the experience as great. We had a reservation for 4:30 and were seated right away, in spite of the long line at the door. Because our part changed from 3 to 2, our table changed to counter seating, which was a little disappointing. It took a “minute” for our waitress to come to our table and when we shared that we planned to split a few of the dishes, she became less cheerful and a bit saltier. The dinner and wine were excellent per usual: Fried Chicken, Cauliflower with Calabrian chilies and their famous popovers.

                                            the service was horrific. the waiter was so rude after we had to ask him to please come and get people to clear plates he said he had to get the cash off the other table so it wouldn’t get stolen. we waited 40 minutes for him to take a drink order - he brought 1 bottle of champagne never asked or came back to get us more drinks. 40 minutes to bring popovers - entrees came spaces 10 minutes apart. we obviously tipped 20% because we assumed you pool your tips but for 800$ bill it was probably one of the worst service and I won’t be returning to wayfare. it’s a shame this was one of my favorite restaurants.

                                            My husband had a taste for burger and the first place I thought of was Wayfare. Luckily they were available (they used to be so busy that’s hard to get in, let alone on a Friday night!) We sat at our “usual seats” facing the kitchen— I love watching them working in such a calm and efficient way and really enjoyed looking at every dish coming out of the kitchen. We got a drink, a burger, and instead of the fried chicken, I went with the special for the night (pan-seared sole, I think), plus their famous popovers- everything was tasty. The service was good as always. Needless to say, they will always be my go-to for burgers and fried chicken. 😉

                                            The ambience was suave yet relaxing, the food was well-executed and delicious upscale pub food, and the service was professional as well as friendly and unobtrusive. All in all the Wayfarer Tavern is worth a visit. We were staying at the Financial District Hilton, and it was a short and delightful walk to this excellent restaurant. Try it and you won’t be disappointed.

                                            Took my son and the family here to celebrate his birthday. Love the ambiance! The waitstaff was top notch. Everyone loved what they ordered! Will definitely be back again!
