   Love Wayfare. It’s been a while since we’ve dined, but family came into town and decided to take them. They loved the ambiance and layout. Always good and will be back soon

   Another fabulous meal at Wayfare Tavern...amazing food...friendly and professional service...great wine list and all-around fun. Ordered the Prime Ribeye...was cooked to perfection, delicious, and was perfect for the 3 of us. Great sides to accompany and oysters to start...can't wait to go back. Recommend Wayfare highly.

   The restaurant completely ignored my special request - said it wasn’t received (?) - and struggled with the timing of our food. We waited almost 45 minutes from the time our appetizers were cleared before being served our mains. I had to inquire about our orders only to receive flake about how large and busy the restaurant is - a strange response indeed. I’ve always enjoyed the Wayfare Tavern, but I won’t go back.

   Ordered the shakshuka deviled eggs, under seasoned, and while there was some spice, there was no pronounced flavour of shakshuka. The fried chicken was over cooked; I had ordered both white and dark meat, and even the dark meat was dry. There was a very bitter note that came from some burnt spices pooled at the bottom of the plate. The batter quickly slid off the chicken and was itself poorly seasoned. Even though my plate was almost untouched, the waiter did not comment or ask if the food was acceptable when he cleared the table. My wife had the beef with the burrata whipped potatoes, I found it hard to discern any difference between butter and cream and the burrata; not sure it added anything. The Brussel sprouts were pretty phenomenal though, the pickled apple was a thoughful touch, although the bacon seemed non-existent. All in all, not what I would have expected from a chef as renown as Tyler Florence.

    We love Wayfare Tavern. We have eaten there for lunch before but had not had dinner there before. Our waiter was fabulous, helped us make really good choices. I was pleased that the restaurant was full on a Monday evening in the financial district. My partner is a little noise sensitive so he commented that the decibel level was a little high. One thing I found indicative of this restaurant’s high standard of elegance: we asked for a box for our food. Our waiter took our plates and brought us a claim check saying that our to-go bag would be at the door as we left- very nice touch!

    Pros: beautiful dining room, attentive service staff, food was brought quickly and presented beautifully, restrooms were lovely. Cons: loud and hard to carry conversation, server had a bit of a language barrier and often misunderstood what we asked for, menu is somewhat small and limited, cosmo from the bar was super tiny and not served in a traditional way. As a professional chef I am hard to please! The fried chicken I ordered was nothing special. The breading was not what I expected. Braised short ribs were great, but a bit too salty. Pork shoulder was good, no issues.

    Took a group for business dinner and everyone was very happy. Although I'd prefer a larger selection on menu, this was partially accomplished by the specials. Don't let the lack of curb appeal hold you back, (at least in the dark evening) this place is charming and interesting inside.

    Another wonderful dinner at a SF favorite. We started with the famous deviled eggs, and the wedge salad. Main course was a great hamburger and a fried chicken. Of course we couldn't miss desert of donuts. The food was fantastic and the wait staff under the supervision of their great manager was flawless. Thank you.

    We went to Wayfair for their great fried chicken and it lived up to expectations. However, we also ordered the mussels and they were old and some clams mixed in. It was a Sunday night, so maybe not a good idea to order mussels on a Sunday night as they are winding down their weekend inventory. The bartender and our waiter were a bit cool and the wine service slow. Could have also been a Sunday night thing as well. They were probably tired and wanted to go home after a long weekend. The busing staff were great though, very friendly, big smiles and efficient.

    Early Mother’s Day celebration! Our food was amazing and the service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive. Loved the popovers, they were delicious. The popovers brought back memories of my Mom!

    The vibe is really good. To start the bone marrow and the devilled egg were delicious. The short rib was good, not great, but the quality was very high. Our waiter struggled to keep up, friendly enough but overwhelmed and missed a few things for us. Overall, still a good experience.

    Having been Wayfare Tavern since it opened the food quality it just as great and consistently amazing, but the portion size in 2023 is noticeable smaller. The service is still top notch!

    We always have a good time at the Tavern. The host stand needs a major improvement as the person is not hospitable and polite and as the first person who greets you into the restaurant, that is one of the most important positions. The manager was great as well as our servers. These two gentlemen redeemed the host and because of them, we will be back.

    Don’t order the mussels ($29) unless you like clams! Did not mention clams on the menu. Also you need to really like salt. Broth was so salty it was impossible to eat. Our waiter was very attentive…to the table across from us. Never checked in with us about our dinner. This was not our first visit, but thinking it is our last.

    Awesome experience. This restaurant is one of our favorites. Food is delicious and not as pricey as many other restaurants in the city, and service was superb. We enjoyed comfortable table on second floor. Deviled eggs and fried chicken were excellent, as was our Sidecar with brandy from the bar.

    Restaurant was closed when we got there for the reservation. I would have at least expected a text or call to let us know that they were canceling the reservation.
