We’ve been dining here for the last eight years. The food has never been so disappointing. Steaks were both to temp, but needed more seasoning. Our green beans were so under cooked our steak knives wouldn’t go through them and they kept shooting off the plate. The potatoes had clearly been in the window a while and had developed that film that forms across mashed potatoes sitting too long. Taste on potatoes was so so, they needed pepper. Service was spectacular, but we felt like with a 78$ and 52$ steak plate our money was stolen. We have been 2-4 times a year for the past 8 years, but we may be done. Did chef change?
When we arrived we checked in for our reservation 10 min early. We were seated 20 min past our reservation time because the hostess did not check us in properly. She did not apologize. We watched five couples cruise in without reservations in front of us. She seated us in a back corner and said we were lucky because there was one table left. I said “we made a reservation so we shouldn’t have to worry”. She was rude rude rude! She acted like she was doing us a favor. I was infuriated.
We were highly disappointed with this nearly $300 meal. The only saving grace was the tartar. Just a shame.
Thank you for taking the time to share feedback from your recent dining experience at Vue 1913. Thank you for your years of continued patronage. We apologize your meal did not meet expectations, but we are happy to hear you received excellent service and enjoyed the tartare. We have shared your comments with our Food and Beverage team with the goal of improving our offerings, and we hope to serve you again in the future.
we missed views because of the western wild fires' smoke/haze. I think there was natural humidity haze too. It was the best filet mignon I've ever had. And I've eaten at many fine Manhattan restaurants over 35 plus years! Service was attentive and correct even though they were short staffed because of the covid-19 year experience are still living through.
Vie 1913 consistently exceeds expectations with wonderful service, fabulous food and amazing views
This is a beautiful venue with an unbelievable menu. This food is indescribably excellent. We had the special : Chilean sea bass.
Chocolate mousse dessert and celery soup.
Wow! Excellent service and a reflection of what is obviously a superb manager!
Classy restaurant tucked in the far corner of the hotel -- but still with great mountain views. Modern decor, and excellent food! The service was slow, but otherwise it was fabulous! We loved the Chilean Sea Bass.
Seated quickly through reservations booked weeks in advance as this is a busy time. Waitress was kind, friendly with great service. Although my meal was not as warm as I liked, it was replaced without hesitation and all of our entrees were excellent from chicken to lobster to the elk. My husband said the Old Fashion drink was one of the best ever!
This is the nicest meal at the Grove Park we have had
The entire meal was AMAZING!!! We ordered the Artisanal Cheese and Foie Gras for appetizers and the Elk Tenderloin and Sea Bass (catch of the day) for dinner. We are total foodies and usually are disappointed when we go out to eat because we can make it better at home. This meal had us both in awe! One of THE BEST meals we have ever had. Sandy took great care of us. The view was incredible and the David Bynum Pinot Noir paired unbelievably. HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
Vue 1913 was an amazing experience! Every bite was mouth watering from the house made bread and butter to the wagu filet. The foraged mushrooms dish was delicious!! Sandy made sure that every moment was excellent. She was prompt, polite and offered great suggestions. We were lucky to have her!
Excellent filets, and truly exceptional sea bass. Also had caviar, which was yummy and well presented. Deviled eggs with caviar were also a hit. Kimberley, our service, was top notch.
Food was ok. Service was good. Noise level was very high. Not a fine dining experience for a special dinner. Ambience has definitely fallen since our last visit 2 years ago.
Sandy was fantastic and attentive. We were able to enjoy the views with our favorite wine and an amazing meal.
Our waiter Sandy was extremely knowledgeable about wine pairing with our entrees, describing details about our choices and she was so accommodating and friendly. This establishment is a must….and the chef even came to greet us!
We really enjoyed Vue 1913. The ambience was fantastic and a beautiful view. Our waitress was fantastic on top of everything and very knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed everything. We started with pork belly that was fantastic! We both enjoyed slaves and had a side of the mushrooms Everything was amazing! We had the vanilla Brulé for dessert which was excellent as well. We definitely will be dining here again.
We ordered a ribeye which was way over cooked to the point even the chef said it was not edible because it was so dry. Then I did not get another steak for another 30 minutes needless to say that is not what you expect for paying $168 for a dinner for 2!
Great food. Excellent Service from Dan. View is incredible of the city of Asheville and surrounding mountains.
Excellent food! Very large portions.
Birthday dinner. Food was delicious and pleasingly plated. Dan was an excellent server.
My husband and I had a wonderful dinner here last night! The food was amazing, my steak was cooked to perfection which is not easy to do as I like my filets well done and it was tender and cooked thru perfectly!! My husband got the Lobster and grits and he loved it! Service was impeccable!! Our server Sandy was very attentive with a terrific attitude! Best restaurant on the Omni property in our opinion and they are all fabulous restaurants! Highly recommend!!
Wonderful experience. Inviting staff. Delicious food. Beautiful ambiance.
We were visiting the Asheville area and went for dinner. The food was amazing! I had chicken that melted in your mouth. We will definitely return again.
The food and service were exceptional as well as the view. Great expirence.
The food was outstanding. The location could stand a facelift, table was worn and finishes not as nice as I would have expected. The service, while good did not match the level of the food. When I dine somewhere like this, I don't want to ask for refills on drinks. Overall its a definite must try, the food was prepared to perfection and presentation on the plate was exquisite. Just a few tweaks to service and a little refresh to the area and would be a homerun. Will definitely go back.
The food was very expensive but delicious. I recommend it.
Great ambiance. View is terrific. Staff very friendly.
Had a great anniversary dinner!
A very eclectic place with incredible views of Asheville and the surrounding mountains. Several incredible rustic fireplaces. You'll get lost in A-day dream in this intense intense fantasytical launch setting. We ordered the lobster and grits what are grits were al dente
Of the restaurants at which I dined in Asheville (including the Dining Room at the Biltmore Inn, Vivian, Red Stag and Cucina 24), I would rate my meal at Vue 1913 at the Grove Park Inn, as the best. While the Wagyu tartare with the gruyere fritters was a very good appetizer, my main course of elk tenderloin served medium rare and my dark chocolate mousse dessert "stole the show." The cardamom and cocoa nibs took the elk dish to "another level," just as the lemon cream spread across the plate underneath the chocolate did for the dessert. In fact, the dessert had it all--silkiness, crunch, sweetness and tartness, and it was artfully presented as well. I savored every mouthful. Kudos to the chef, as well as to Cheri who was my very informative and delightful server, and to Mark who was the manager and with whom I engaged in a very enjoyable conversation about his work experiences and about "AAA" diamond ratings.
We were sat at a table for four where one couple had to face the wall. It was obviously a table that is out of the way and I suppose they felt we were not good enough for a table with a view. The only reason we booked was for the sunset view and they would not allow us to switch to an open better table because those were “reserved”. However, we also had reservations. We ended up spending $550 plus $120 tip and each couple switched sides to the viewing side vs staring at the couple and wall side during dinner in order to look at the Mountain Views. I won’t eat there again if I’m put in the corner, not for those prices. Service was good and food was good. Treating like second class citizens was not good.
Vue 1913 is always an amazing treat. The chef is interesting and eclectic in menu offerings. Our waiter knew well how to describe our choices. Every morsel was fresh, delicious, tantalizing and beautifully presented. Terrific Father’s Day dinner! See you soon.
Our server was fantastic!! I cannot remember her name but she used to live in florida.
Not a bad view in this restaurant, no matter where you sit, you get amazing views!! Our server was wonderful and we had so much fun. The food was wonderful and it was a great evening. Thank you!!
Perfect location for a romantic sunset dinner with beautiful views of the mountians
All the servers seemed very knowledgable of the menu. Our server was wonderful and offered many suggestions.
Outstanding food and service. Cheri in the dining room as our Waitress was especially outstanding. A very very nice 30th Anniversary celebration
Vue was amazing!! Cheri took such good care of us and her recommendations were outstanding. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a romantic date night!
