Kimberly was a fantastic waitress. She helped us with entrees & wine. She was very attentive but not annoyingly so. She is very friendly and a fun person. The food was prepared to order & was very hot & good. Go eat here.
Facility is fantastic. We are Midwest steakhouse type of people. Disappointed in food. Farm to table is not our thing. Others may enjoy it. Not what we expected. Would eat bar food next time and avoid the expense. Amazing hotel. Can’t wait to go back for a long weekend of relaxation.
The food was just not very good. Everything from the first course to dessert tasted very bland and lacked flavor. We were excited to try the dishes we ordered based on their descriptions, but in the end everyone was disappointed.
For the type of restaurant and the food choices, I was expecting a very different experience. The Wine selection was nice and the salad and 1st course short ribs appetizer was tasty. The main course for me was lacking. It was the stuffed fried chicken which was very bland and dry. The butter layer under the chicken was not enough to add any flavor or spice. It was our Annivesary dinner and even though we did not order dessert, they where kind enough to bring out some truffles and chocolate with a rose for my bride. It could be that if I had chosen a different entree then my experience would have been different.
Our dinner at Vue 1913 was very good on January 18, 2020
Excellent food and service in a beautiful setting.
Ambiance very good as was the service. Our party of 5 ordered the sea bass, fillet steak, lamb and lobster with grits.
The sea bass dish was the best at the table for taste although all ingredients in the dish were white making for a bland presentation.
The fillet steak was tender but had no seasoning. A good cut of beef wasted.
The lamb was cooked beautifully but the lack of seasoning again proved the downfall.
The lobster with grits included goat cheese in the grits. The goat cheese completely overpowered any flavor from the lobster. The lobster was removed from the shell and was over cooked making for a rubbery texture.
Appetizer included the morel mushroom soup. I cannot claim to have tasted any mushroom flavor in this dish. Very bad.
Overall I spent many, many dollars (more than I have ever spent on a meal) on a very forgettable meal. My recommendation: Do not eat here.
The service was great. The appetizers and desserts were good; however the 3 entrees we tried were very underwhelming.
While the food was excellent, gourmet cuisine, I feel the value was incredibly poor. My wife and I spent over $200 without ordering alcohol, and we were both hungry when we left. As other reviews have stated, the portions are incredibly small. My wife ordered the gnocchi for her main course, and I gasped at how little there was when it came out :( It honestly looked like an appetizer, and I believe the price was around $36 or so. The wait staff was decent, but we had to wait much longer than I think we should have- especially considering how late it was with a rather empty restaurant.
Everything was perfect at Vue 1913! We went for our wedding anniversary, had amazing cocktails and delicious appetizers, dinner and dessert! We will definitely return!
Celebrated our wedding anniversary with great food and service
Our server Sandra was an absolute delight. She recommended incredible dishes for each course, kept our waters topped off, and provided genuine and welcoming conversation. The food was incredible. Worth every penny. Our dinner and experience was an amazing way to start our long weekend and first time at The Grove Park Inn.
This hotel is absolutely lovely. The restaurant served a delicious NYE set menu which did not disappoint. The staff were all friendly and the surroundings were beautiful!
4 course meal was very good and the service was impeccable!!!
This is our fourth and last time going to vue, the service is great and the setting is beautiful but the food is average at best. My wife had the sea bass which was good but not special, her side of rice was undercooked and I don't mean it was grainy, it was very undercooked, my filet was medium rare like I ordered it but there was nothing special about it, the much advertised balsamic reduction was nowhere to be found. Like I said, we've tried Vue several times now with the same result; average food at best but not worth the $300 bill for 2 people.
Thank you for being a patron of the resort and for your kind words towards our staff. We sincerely apologize that the same great sentiments did not extend to your meal and have shared your feedback with the Executive Chef in an effort to improve.
Amazing view with sunset. Staff extremely professional and efficient. Food , all 4 courses, was absolutely amazing. The 4-course was for New Years Eve, not standard menu. Dan and Caroline were amazing and made us feel like we were the only table. Will return often
Once seated the experience was superb. Waitress very good. Food amazing. Creative deserts. Highly recommend.
Great food. I can not say enough good things about our server, Ben. Absolutely the best customer service, bar none.
Thank you for sharing. We are truly touched that Ben's service improved upon your dining experience as a whole, and we hope you will visit Vue 1913 in the future.
Awesome, will definitely be back!
Staying at Grove Park Inn for our wedding anniversary. Ate at Vue 1913. Everything was wonderful...especially our server, Valentino!
Delicious!!! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Best steak I have had in a long time.
Food was only average and very expensive. Very nice place but very much overrated and overpriced.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that you enjoyed the overall ambiance and service, however apologize that your meal fell short of expectations. Your concerns have been shared with the Food & Beverage management team, and we hope you will give us another opportunity to show you the dining experience for which we are truly known.
Christmas dinner with a set menu was very nice with a nice choice of options.
We dined there during our stay in 2018 and were extremely pleased, however when returning at Christmas 2019, we discovered major changes in menu offerings and overall service quality. Menu was reduced to just a few entrees and only choice was overpriced 3 course meals. We will not return.
Thank you for your continued patronage, and we apologize that the Christmas Day specialty menu was not to your liking. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to welcoming you back for the daily brasserie style you know and love.
We wound up in Asheville for Christmas at the last minute and Vue was the only place available for a Christmas dinner. I know better than to expect much from the Omni, but despite my low expectations it was even worse than I expected: my soup had a skin on it from sitting under a heat lamp. My main course - fish - was ice cold! The desserts were just...insipid. $300 later we left, vowing to never make the same mistake again.
Thank you for joining us this holiday season, and we apologize that the Christmas Day specialty menu was not to your liking. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to the opportunity of better serving you.
We ate Christmas dinner here. Salad and dessert were tasty. However, the prime rib was well below standard for the $90 price. I managed to eat 3 bits. I would not eat here again. There are too many excellent restaurants in the Asheville area!
Customers service during reservation process was not as expected. Food was room temp to lukewarm. Prime rib was poorly prepared. Desserts and service were excellent.
Great meal and service for my daughters 35th birthday
Now this was OUTSTANDING!! The filet was incredible and the vegetarian gnocchi plate was delicious. One of the best dining experiences for us. This one is our favorite at the Omni Grove Park Inn
Thank you for reaching out. From the filet to the vegetarian gnocchi, we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your meal at Vue 1913. We encourage you to return and sample more outstanding dishes upon your next visit to The Omni Grove Park Inn.
Can't say enough great things about Vue! Would give it more stars if we could. Food is exceptional and the wait staff are knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend!
Thank you for sharing. We are truly touched that you would give the Vue 1913 dining experience more than 5-stars if you could, and we hope you will choose to return for many exceptional meals in the future.
Over priced for mediocre food.
I expected a prestige restaurant and was not disappointed. We ordered an eggplant won ton appetizer which did not disappoint. The entree of sea bass over risotto was superb. Service was excellent. A dress code would be appropriate. Sloppy attire should not be allowed. The noise level was a bit high.
The Vue is a restaurant and a Chef "trying to be" something it isn't. It isn't a high end menu or a high end experience, or a high end level of service.
Impeccable food and wine. Wait staff was attentive. Nice romantic setting.
Upscale dining. My partners steak was very good. My lobster and grits were cold, very little flavor. Our server was polite and professional. However, when spending over $200 on a meal I did not expect our server to bring a box to our table for me to place my desert into to take with me...with no silverware on the table. She ended up sliding it into the box. Poor service there. The Vue is the hotel's fine dining restaurant. Kitchen staff needs to make sure food is served hot for me to go back.
Fabulous. Can not wait to return!
Excellent from start to finish. At first the menu seemed very limited but when the specials were added there was a great selection. The lamb was spectacular as was the lobster and grits.
Disappointed that they ran out of Sea Bass and we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation. I would recommend Edison over Vue 1913
The food was outstanding. The restaurant is beautiful and has great views of downtown Asheville and the mountains beyond. The service was very good as well.
