Slow service, poor quality food made for a negative experience. While the view and the ambiance of the restaurant are nice we found the food lacking. Lobster over cooked, mealy grits with very little flavor, and dry chicken. The charcuterie board was tasty. Will not return
My birthday dinner, thank you.06cy0voyc4s74srxrxrxtxycuvuvuv9yx9ycytxy9coycycyyccyc9ycc
Thank you for celebrating at Vue 1913, and may we wish you a very happy birthday! We hope you will choose to visit us again, perhaps making such a special occasion an annual tradition.
Excellent service from greeting to departure. Karen was an excellent server. Food was excellent. Like the fact that they have a kids menu so we can enjoy with our young daughter. We loved Horizons, but we recall it was nearly impossible to bring a child under 12 to dinner at Horizons (no options for kids). Not sure why this is describes as a French bistros, it not anything like the bistros I’ve been to in France, but that doesn’t really matter. The food and service are both wonderful.
Thank you for your continued patronage. What was once Horizons is now Vue 1913, and we couldn't agree more that the family friendly environment has certainly improved. We also sincerely appreciate your kind words towards Karen; she truly embodies what it means to be a hospitality professional and is a valued member of the Omni family. We look forward to welcoming both you and your daughter back any time.
I'm sorry but I don't mind spending $$ on good food but there was nothing we ordered on the menu that was worth spending this amount of money and we huge foodies. A very tired space with very tired food.
Thank you for sharing. We sincerely apologize that your dining experience fell short of expectations and hope you will give us another opportunity to show you what it truly means to dine at Vue 1913.
The food was over priced and of poor quality. We are happy to pay top price for a great meal, but this food is far from great. The portions are small, the lobster was over cooked, and the food had little taste.
Thank you for reaching out. We apologize that the lobster was not to your liking and have shared your feedback with the Executive Chef with the goal of improving.
Staff was very professional and ambiance was lovely. Both of our entrees were way too overly salty (mine almost to the point of being inedible). Menu prices were a bit steep— $16 for three wontons and $38 for a plate of mushrooms and mashed potatoes. But overall a nice experience and we will return at some point in the future.
We thought that the menu was limited and overpriced. The food was tasty and fresh, but our orders were very slow in coming out and one salad was served about 10 minutes before the other.
Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that the food was tasty and fresh upon arrival, however apologize for the lack of promptness. This is not the service we aim to deliver. Should you choose to dine with us again, we have shared your concerns with the Food and Beverage management team and will use this as an opportunity to better our operation.
Wonderful meal, great service & AMAZING sunset
Overall a great experience that we would gladly do all over again. The food and scenic views were a great way to spend the evening.
The food was fantastic! I ordered the lobster and grits! It was really delicious! I was underwhelmed by the view.
Thank you for sharing. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed the food at Vue 1913, especially the lobster and grits, however apologize that the panoramic mountain view was not to your liking. Should you choose to dine with us again, we look forward to serving you yet another fantastic meal.
Excellent, unique food, fabulous service and stunning view.
Very expensive!!! View was ok but not the best. Food was prepared perfectly.
Service was excellent and food was prepared to perfection. Wait staff was on point through our entire dinner.
Thanks to staff of the Vue 1913 for a very enjoyable dining experience . Will definitely return on our next stay at GPI.
Wedding anniversary. Service great. But the food too pricey for what you got.
The quality of food has declined in the past decade or so when I last visited. The menu, while not short, didn't have many interesting choices. The prices were very high (and this is coming from someone who lives and dines frequently in New York and other culinary capitals) and some of the portions were minuscule. My cocktail (on a hot summer day) was mostly ice cubes with a little tequila (four small sips). There's something to be said for the stunning view and reveling in the charm of an historic hotel, but I doubt that many people would rush back for a re-visit.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that the food was not to your liking upon your return visit. The menu is updated seasonally, and we hope you will choose to dine with us again for a newer, fresher meal in the future.
The most amazing dinner . Elk tenderloin... so great!
A very nice restaurant. The portion was minuscule. I had the lamb, I counted 4 bite pieces, 4. At $48 I had expected a bit more. I don’t know, call me crazy.
This is by far one of the finest restaurants I dine in. I have been here several times and each time it is great. The service, food and atmosphere is fabulous. I highly recommend dining here if you are in the area or a guest of the hotel.
Our server was extremely knowledgeable and explained every course thoroughly.
The view of the mountains was amazing!
It was very romantic!!
We have tried the salad and wasn't that bad.. but my quantity was really poor.
Mushroom meal no flavor..
Meat was ok.
Thank you for reaching out. We apologize if your meal was anything less than exemplary. Should you choose to dine with us again, we will share your feedback with the Executive Chef in an effort to improve.
Went to Vue 1913 to celebrate our anniversary, and we were given a table with a wonderful view of the mountains. The service was impeccable; everyone from the person who seated us, to our waitress and her assistant, was friendly, professional, and attentive. The menu is imaginative, with half devoted to vegetarian dishes. We split the artisanal cheeses and the sorghum and blueberry salad. For our entrees, my husband had the elk tenderloin, and I chose the lobster and grits. All were well-prepared and delicious. As a nice finishing touch, our waitress brought a red rose, along with chocolate hazelnut truffles and an edible anniversary "card" of dark chocolate. I would definitely recommend Vue 1913 for a special occasion.
Thank you for sharing, and may we once again wish you both a very happy anniversary. From the panoramic mountain views to each delicious dish, we are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your dining experience at Vue 1913. We look forward to celebrating many years of marriage with you again in the future.
My wife and I highly value creativity and distinctiveness in restaurants. If you want standard American faire with a small degree of distinctiveness, this is great. If your taste range is a little more conservative and a little less adventurous, then this is great. If you are unconcerned about cost, this is great. But it is a high priced meal that is definitely of good quality but only somewhat original. There are numerous restaurants in Asheville which cost considerably less but whose meals can be genuinely memorable for more creative and adventurous eaters. Our costs for this meal were about $65 per person, and it was a "good" meal, but the night before, we went to a restaurant in Asheville and paid about $45 per person and it was highly memorable and distinctive.
Very small food portions for the prices and left us still hungry after dinner, but overall enjoyed our experience!
Dan our waiter was outstanding! The food and wine were superb
Chose Vue 1913 for fiftieth wedding anniversary and was disappointed. Small portions can be expected but male salad was a let down and the scallops with gnocchis was mediocre at best. My wife had lamb and left the majority of it as it was mostly fat. Her eggplant appetizer was good. We each had two mixed drinks-nothing special. Total bill, including $15 valet parking for perhaps an hour was $250. Overall disappointment and will return to Ruth's Chris for other special occasions.
Thank you for joining us for this special occasion, and may we congratulate you both on 50 happy years of marriage. We have shared your comments with the Executive Chef and apologize that the food was not to your liking. Should you choose to dine with us again, the menu at Vue 1913 does change seasonally, and we hope you will one day return for a meal more appealing to your palates.
Greeted by s very friendly ldy.
The meals were Amazing. Our waitress Sarah was exceptional, very friendly and helpful. My family and I were on vacation in Asheville seeing Vue1913 had a 4star rating in AAA tour book we had to try it , was well worth the price for the whole experience
With so many fine dining establishments in Asheville, why go here? You receive terrible value for your dollar/ultra small portions. Great views, Craftsman furnishings, and comfortable seating do not overcome the house's shortcomings since going corporate. We won't return.
Thank you for your feedback. We will share your comments with the Food & Beverage management team.
Of course first, this restaurant is located in arguably the historic and most beautiful building in North Carolina. The view from our window table gave us opportunity after opportunity to look at the Asheville skyline and the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains and the sunset. The menu was extensive and explained well, the food was beyond good and the server attentive, courteous and knowledgeable. Excellent all around!
STARTER WAS THE CHEESE PLATE. LARGEST CHEESE WAS VERY, VERY HOT. OUR SERVER SHOULD OF WARNED US BEFORE WE ORDERED. AT $24 IT WAS NOT VALUE FOR THE MONEY AS WE COULD NOT EAT THE VERY HOT CHEESE. MY WIFE AND I HAD THE BASS ($48 EACH). PORTIONS WERE NOT GENEROUS BUT THE FISH WAS COOKED TO PERFECTION. THE RISOTTO WAS ALSO EXCELLENT. CREME BRULEE WAS ALSO EXCELLENT ($10). WE BOTH HAD 1 GLASS OF WINE. TOTAL WITH TIP $200. NICE EVENING BUT NOT VALUE FOR THE MONEY.
Beautiful view at the Grove Park Inn! Perfect spot for an awesome dinner with friends. We had great service and the food was phenomenal.
Great dinner at Vue 1913. Staff was very attentive and the meal was impeccable. Very creative chef. We had dumplings for appetizer, radish salad, Chilean bass, and Adirondack bowl. All choices were inventive and wonderful. Pricey but worth it!
Not impressed with the price and quality. My pasta dish gnocchi dish was just ok and dripping in butter. Favorite part was the bread and great views. Lamb was supposed to be cooked medium and was extremely rare even though my husband explained that he didn't want it rare or bright pink. Best part was the view.
A date after a 42 year gap and Vue913 was memorable for the food on a very memorable evening overall. Many thanks. Long story on that gap but maybe another time
The food was just OK considering the high prices. The serving staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant. The drinks were a short pour. Overall disappointing evening considering we dined there a year ago when prices for the meal were a good value. Service a year ago was still very good.
We have gone here in the past but decided that this would be our last visit. Simply put, we have had much better meals for less money—and we are not averse to dining at some pretty pricey places. Compared to other restaurants we've been to, the service and quality simply doesn't match up.
One or two examples might suffice:
* The temperature was all wrong in the lamb dish, necessitating a hasty do-over, which threw off the balance of the entire meal because one spouse was left eating while the other twiddled her thumbs.
* The temperature of the foie gras should have been warmer.
* The temperature of the mashed potatoes with the filet mignon dish was also bad, and the flavor boring.
We were astonished that after the entree had to be sent back that they didn't comp a single thing or offer to comp dessert. Total tab for two was near $500, which was high for a resort of this kind. Again, we have stayed at similar resorts and had better meals under $250. This was not worth twice the money. Won't return.
Thank you for being a patron of the resort, and we genuinely apologize that your meal did not meet expectations. We have shared your comments with the Executive Chef and hope we have not lost you as a loyal customer.
We live locally and love visiting on a regular basis. The food and service are impeccable! We usually begin our evening in the Presidential Lounge with Brad as our superb mixologist and move to Vue 1913 for fabulous food and wine. Karen has been our server on several occasions and she is always at the top of her game!
Went for 4th of July, ambiance is lovely!
This place is ridiculous for the amount of money they charge for the food. It is not creative, nor well-executed. We couldn't even get a steak cooked to the proper temperature. The food was just very bland and unimaginitive, which is unacceptable for the final bill you'll receive. Do yourself a favor and visit the lodge for a cocktail and the view, then go to downtown Asheville where there are several James Beard-level restaurants all over the city.
Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that the food was not to your liking. Should you choose to dine with us again, we have shared your comments with the Executive Chef and look forward to the opportunity of creating a meal more pleasing to your palate.
My boyfriend and I went there for our anniversary and had a great experience. The service was perfect, the food was amazing and the view of the mountains was even better. I suggest trying the braised short rib, it was to die for!
