Country ham on the benedicts was not edible. It was like pouring a bottle of salt in your mouth.
The food was fast and delicious! I had the fried chicken biscuit, which was flaky and crispy with the right amount of cheese.
Very crowded, very noisy, very frenetic. Hostess had to ask waitress twice to serve us. Food - when it came, was so good. Will not go back on a Saturday! Will give it another try on a less busy day.
Great brunch
Chef Farr is amazing
Everything perfect!
We are in Charleston for the week and are first timeRs here. We found Virginia’s on King through Open Table. Everything was great! Our server was extremely nice and very attentive! I got the crab cake Benedict. It included a Tobasco hollandaise sauce. The hollandaise had a touch of spice but nothing overwhelming. It was simply delicious. My boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. The waffles were fluffy and the chicken was delectable. We will return again!
Virginia's is a go to when in Charleston. This visit we did the brunch. Tyler and staff were on point. For those concerned about the covid protocol. They were on point with that also. Go in and enjoy yourself. You won't be dissatisfied.
We enjoyed our dinner at Virginia’s. The shrimp and grits were excellent and the corn bread was amazing. Virginia added a spice that made the corn bread very unique. Would love to go back the next time we’re in town.
This was my first experience with fried green tomatoes and she crab soup so I had nothing to compare it to, but I since have and I can tell you both are outstanding. I don’t like chicken usually but the fried chicken here was so good! Fantastic service and food. Highly recommend this place!
We had a little two top table by the window, which was nice. I’m partial to booths, but as long as we aren’t in the middle, I can adjust. We were promptly greeted and brought water and corn bread (which was delicious). We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the she crab soup, and it was pretty good - good amount of crab (not the best I’ve ever had but a very good rendition and better than some). My husband ordered the fried chicken (dark) with green beans and collard greens - he said the chicken was delicious, green beans were great and the collards were good but had a very strong apple cider vinegar after taste. I had the BBQ salmon with grits and green beans. I asked for the bbq sauce on the side (since I wasn’t exactly sure if I would like it), but it came out with the sauce all over it (waitress apologized and offered to have it redone, but then my husband would be finished eating by the time I had a new meal). I wasn’t a fan, and scraped it off as best I could (it also tasted pretty peppery underneath). The grits were outstanding and the green beans were perfect. All of our portions were good sized. The atmosphere was nice and not overly loud. If you’re visiting Charleston, do stop by and give them a try.
We were visiting Charleston as a family for the first time & found this gem. The 3 of us really enjoyed the food & atmosphere. My son loved the deviled eggs and Mac & cheese. Chicken Pot Pie was delicious and HUGE! My husband had the shrimp & grits & loved them. Service was friendly and attentive. Small place, great food & service following COVID protocols.
Pancakes were not good at all. Good portion but flavor was bad. Better description of ingredients on the menu would help on this item.
Sausage is not your true southern style sausage.
Country steak was very good!
My girlfriend and I came here for Valentine’s Day and we were far from disappointed. The food was phenomenal southern-style food, the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion, and all of the staff, including the manager, were so professional and made the experience that much better. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip.
We went to Virginia on King's for this most recent Valentine's Day with my small family. It was a great experience. The food was super tasty, the service was responsive and professional, and the atmosphere was spot on. I could not have asked for a better, more relaxed yet sweet environment for a family Valentine's Day.
Wonderful service paired with great upscale southern food!
We had reservations and when we got there we were seated on time. The server interaction was perfect!
Great service and food!
First time there for Valentine’s Day. We enjoyed the food. Service was subpar. We had to call attention to a waiter on three occasions.
Went as a party of 4 for Valentines day brunch. It wasn't horrible, but didn't stand out as great either. I order a drink that I did not care for at all, sent it back but it was never taken off the bill (I should have checked). The décor on the second floor was dark, and the restroom on the first floor had a very strange order. The food we ordered was decent. I would not rush back.
They have the best cornbread I've ever tasted! We eat at Virginia's everytime we are in Charleston.
I really like the menu -- "comfort food" and high quality. Wait staff was highly attentive - our waitress was cordial and responsive. I will definitely go back again. Would like try out the breakfast and lunch menu.
Would like the staff to monitor COVID compliance just a little bit more (wearing of masks - in/out of location.
The shrimp and grits with cornbread was delicious. Will definitely go back if in Charleston again.
Not impressed. I have gone to Virginia's in the past and I hoped things had improved. I picked Virginia's this time primarily because of it's location. Mistake. I had visitors from out of town and the experience was not up to par. The food was nothing to brag about. At our table we had the burger, pulled pork sandwich, chicken pot pie, and the fried chicken. The dishes lacked any sort of wow factor; very plain with very little flavor. The restaurant has a nice feel and the service was good. I could almost give them a pass on ambiance and service if the food was good. It wasn't. I do not intend to give them another chance.
Excellent spot for southern food. The staff was really great!
Excellent service!! Food was amazing, very reasonably priced. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend the mashed potatoes and pulley chicken.
The She crab soup was full of yummy crab meat.
I had the crab cakes, probably some of the best I’ve had in Charleston!!
My husband had the pot pie- for a cold winter night, it was just perfect!
The food was great and the service outstanding! Wonderful place to dine!!
All was great. Our server Reagan outstanding!!!
No gluten free substitutions even for toast
Mac & cheese is to die for!
Very nice and felt safe during this pandemic.
We took an out of town visitor to Virginia's on Saturday evening to experience true Southern cooking. We were not disappointed! The food was fabulous. Two of us ate the fried chicken and one ordered the chicken pot pie. There was so much food, we had a full second meal of leftovers. The fried chicken is absolutely the best, and the mac and cheese is too delicious to describe. The pot pie came in an 8" pie plate - definitely portions which could have been shared. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. The wait staff and the bartender were all wearing masks and staying safe distances away whenever possible.
Very good southern “home cooked” food. Recommend the fried chicken and mac and cheese.
The service was great and we felt like we”d been going there for breakfast for years!!
Awesome experience. The service was great! Everyone was very kind and helpful. The food was very good overall and the portions were huge!
Food was delicious. Service great, very personable.
Getaway weekend with my Kim! Everything was sooo good!
The Shrimp and Grits, mixed green salad and even the cornbread was excellent! My one and only complaint is that my banana pudding was missing the bananas and caramel but it was still tasty!
The seafood platter was excellent with exception of the crab cake. The fish, shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection and the breading was to die for. I had their fried chicken special in the past and I consider it one of the best in Charleston. Overall it’s good excellent food at good prices. Friendly and competent staffing.
I'd be willing to try it again, maybe it was just an off night. But, food came out cold, specifically, the mashed potatoes and meatloaf. Just tasted like it had been sitting in the back waiting to be warmed up and served. Other than that it was nice. Great service, nice and clean, and located right on King.
