Vintage Chophouse l Wine Bar
Food was delicious and service was excellent. The restaurant itself was elegant and clean. Will definitely be going back!
Very good. Our second time here. Food is high quality and well presented. Pricey but you can’t beat the view.
My wife and I celebrated our 38th Anniversary with dinner at the Vintage Chophouse on Thursday evening. Our servers, Marnie & Steve, did an outstanding job of not only being efficient but understanding of our Special Occasion needs. We were not rushed, even tho it was Restaurant Week. The restaurant was filled that Thursday night, however, we enjoyed the evening as if it was only open for us!
The Wild Mushroom Bisque was outstanding! We shared a Filet which was prepared to perfection. At the end of our mean, Marnie gave us a choice of desserts, we choose the Bananas Foster, which she gave us as an Anniversary gift!
We will definitely go back!
We were there for our anniversary and were not disappointed. The evening was perfect in all areas. Highly recommend for your special occasion. Thank you Vintage Chophouse/Wine Bar!
We tried the restaurant week special, frenched chicken. It was noisy, the food was dry, and the service was not good. We were surprised it did not meet expectations.
Excellent right from the Get-Go. We used the online reservation system weeks ahead of time, then 1 day before arrival received an online check-in request, which worked perfect. We arrived in Bay Harbour on the following day and our seating reservations were for 4 pm, however, some of us were still checking into our rooms, therefore, we spoke with Jodi who was able to accommodate us for 4:30 seating without any problems. Once seated, we asked the waiter up-front if there was another group coming in after us of which he indicated the next group was arriving at 7:30 pm. This gave up plenty of time to social, order more beverages, enjoy our salads, main meal and desserts and finished by 7:20 pm. Excellent food and overall excellent service. Thank you Calvin, Jodi and compliments to the Chef staff.
Stayed at the hotel and thought The Inn was fabulous. We stopped in about two hours before dining and the bartender was great. Made wine selections that were fabulous and made a great drink. They were able to move our reservations up a half hour which was greatly appreciated. Was seated immediately but one of the women at the desk looked like she was straight off a motorcycle. She looked unkempt and was not wearing anything close to professional attire. Our server was nice but service was very slow and we never received bread. The food was excellent and was a little slow but was hot and well prepared. Portions for appetizers were much larger than entrees. The view is amazing even after dark and the atmosphere was cozy. Might be a bit too crammed in there. Overall would definitely go back but they need to work out some kinks to charge these types of prices for this level of service
We’ve always loved to dine here especially in the summer as the views are spectacular! The food has been very good even though on the pricey side. This meal was a “C+” experience at best. The service was fair - our waiter forgot our side dishes and obviously rushed them for us as they were not cooked through. Two dinners were very disappointing; just not that good for the price charged. Drinks are very skimpy as well. There are other high priced restaurants in the area which are comparable and even though they don’t have the views, that’s where we will dine next time. Too bad - and somewhat embarrassing to have suggested this place to meet friends.
Calvin is wonderful! The food is always amazing and the Smoking Jacket is my favorite!
My wife and I celebrated my birthday at the Vintage Chophouse. We arrived 30 minutes early for our reservation but we were seated promptly. Our server was attentive and informed but not overbearing. The menu is not extensive but was varied enough to accommodate most palates. We shared a good chopped salad and a mushroom bisque that was delightful. My walleye was moist, fresh, flavorful and sautéed perfectly. My wife's French breast of chicken was crisp and seasoned just right.
The ambience is dark and cozy with exposed dark wood, a gas fireplace and windows open to the water view. It was an unseasonably cool evening so patio dining was not an option that evening but the view would have been stunning if we had done so. Service, food and ambience was top notch and the Vintage Chophouse merits a return engagement. It is worth the investment of time, expense and effort to get there!
Best steak I ever had!
We arrived to Bay Harbor a d After a long Day decided to dine close. Our experience was Nice. I had Chicken it was very good. My husband Enjoyed the Lamb pops. The patio is Nice although we close to dine in. Which was Also Nice.
Great food and service with a spectacular view. It was our first time dining there, but definitely not our last!
The best part of the experience was the view. The service was mediocre and the food was horrible.
Amazing choice to celebrate our first anniversary. Service was excellent and there was not a weak dish on the table - it was all incredibly delicious food! The waiter and bartender even conspired to create a mocktail drink that was just suited for this expecting mama’s tastes. Would recommend and can’t wait to come back!
We have eaten lunch outside on their terrace three times this summer. It's a delightful place that overlooks Little Traverse Bay, and Harbor Springs across the water. The food is good.
Jodie and Alesha were extremely rude! We were dining before a show at GLCPA when friends stopped in to say hello. The manager was seating another table and very rudely told us we were in the way with a nasty look on her face. Astonished us all!! The hostess and manager the stood at the hostess stand and glared at us for the remainder of the evening. We expected far more professional service from such an establishment. It will certainly affect out decision to return.
Our third time dining there. First two times were excellent--great service from Matthew and food was wonderful. This time, mediocre service, food was average. Definitely seemed like a different chef.
Interesting menu - try the Lamb Lollipops or Truffle fries - and if the outdoor dining is open take advantage of the view of Little Traverse Bay. Small venue, and a little noisy as result, but ask to be seated away from the entrance and bar as our seats were getting bumped regularly.
Two things quickly since I don't usually write these thing.
1. When you put "Chophouse" in your name consumers exspect a line-up of quality beef and maybe a chop. You had to look for the steaks on the menu. The bought a $10 ribeye and charged $49 . Bad form.
2. Also its not fne dinning. Its attached to a resort hotel - very beautiful with great views but the clientele was half chicken fingers, fries - i.e. Chunky Cheese with crying tikes from off the beach with proud parents. You eat here you don't dine.
Beautiful night to eat outdoors. Please bring back the short rib dinner entree
The only thing that would have made this more enjoyable was to be seated outside. It was a lovely evening, and although our table was by the window, it's so noisy inside that outside is preferable. However, we had a great dinner and lovely wine, good service and a nice view.
We picked this restaurant to celebrate our 29th anniversary because the website portrayed the restaurant has an upscale Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Regretfully, it was anything but that. There were lots of kids in swimsuits, adults in swimsuits and wraps, and when combined with staff that appeared very stressed, tired and agitated by the kids, food that was average at best, this restaurant fell short of our expectations when you consider the featured steak was a $120 Kobe beef steak.
Food was very tasty. Was a bit disappointed in our server we had just received our salad and within minutes our main course came. Was feeling a bit rushed
Waiter was awesome
We always enjoy Vintage. The views of Lake Michigan are fantastic and the service is great. The menu is improved from past years.
One criticism though ... we made outdoor reservations on 8/6. The manager was debating whether to open up outside due to 40% chance of rain by 8:00 but we said we would be there by 6:00 so they took our reservation for 6. When we got there, they told us the patio was closed - too windy. This was clearly not the case - we have been there many times with it much windier. We were left with no plans / options. Not happy since we have been very loyal customers.
For creative cuisine on the shores of Little Traverse Bay, this place can't be beat. The inside seating is clubby and comfortable, and the patio seating lets you experience Lake Michigan by day or by night. Service is outstanding too. A gem of the North!
Miss the old Sagamore’s warm casual comfy bar with more normal American fare. Vintage is too upscale and the menu to pricey for most families and guests that stay at the Inn. We live in Bay Harbor and come to vintage in the summer for the sunset views. Appetizers and cocktails are much better than the menu.
Wintertime french onion soup is fantastic!
Beautiful evening to sit outside and enjoy the view of sunset and Lake Michigan! Excellent food and service and hard to beat the atmosphere for outdoor dining.
Strange for a bar/restaurant no bar snack appetizers. Totally grossed out by our servers dirty finger nails. Food was expensive. It good.
Average food for the price. Walleye not labeled breaded and we order it even though we are gluten free. Would be a nice thing to add to the menu so others know. Outdoor seating was greAt.
Food is a d-. Ordered the “special” which was a Waygu ribeye. What was delivered was more like a sirloin that was about 1/2” thick and tough as nails for $65. They gladly replaced it with a mediocre filet that took another 45 min to deliver. Atmosphere on waterfront is very nice. Better for drinks than food.
Incredible views and service! Our favorite place when we are in town!!!
They accommodated our sons birthday very nicely. Amazing view of the bay too.
This was our 2nd time eating at Vintage Chophouse and it was a huge disappointment this year. We were staying at The Inn at Bay Harbor so it is very convenient and the patio has a lovely view however we left feeling like we had a mediocre meal at a very high price. My husband and daughter split the seafood pasta, it came out in 2 very small bowls of pasta and a side plate with 1 shrimp, 1 scallop and a quarter of a lobster tail. For $45 we were expecting a larger portion of pasta and more than 3 small pieces of seafood, very disappointing. The appetizers we ordered were fairly portioned however the rest of the meal was not worth the $260 we spent.
The other frustration was that our server rushed us for our order because she said there were two other large parties inside that were about to order and she didn't want our order to be "behind" theirs in the kitchen. We ordered as she requested and when I went to use the restroom after the appetizers came I went through the dining room only to see one large table who was completely finished with their dinner. We believe she told us that to help speed up her night as we were her last table of the evening and she didn't want us keeping her there later. In our opinion, extremely unprofessional;.
We will be back at the Inn next summer but we will most likely skip the Vintage Chophouse for dinner, maybe just enjoy a drink on the patio.
Our yearly trips to Bay Harbour andcthe Chop House don’t disappoint us except this time we were celebrating a birthday. I think when you pay what you do for a delishes meal the birthday girl should either get a piece of cake or a drink on the house ... just saying that goes a long way for repeat customers
The scenery is stunning at sunset
Thank you and see you again
Inedible food. Sadly
Wonderful find for a delicious dinner with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Highly recommend this gem!
Great service...beautiful setting for outdoor dining
We were celebrating our 65th anniversary with friends who were celebrating their 66th.
The food, service, view were all great.
