Food has gone downhill, just so-so at best, same ole stuff too
Great food! Great staff! Enjoyed it very much!!
Food is excellent! Will be sure to eat here again!
Superb wait staff, great view and deliciously prepared meals. A wonderful dining experience.
What a nice restaurant! We had a lovely meal with our family celebrating my husband’s birthday. The waiter allowed us to set our own pace and we thoroughly enjoyed the good food, good service, light jazz in the background, and of course the fabulous view. It is very expensive but we will be back!
Very nice. Can’t wait to go back. Our food was wonderful and amazing view
Nice place to drop in and have a lovely diner. Good food, good service, and a lovely view.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Not our first time there and we will definitely be back!
Loved it ! Food was tasty
The food was excellent with good sized portions. Everything from the starters to dessert and after dinner drinks were delicious! We weren’t rushed and enjoyed excellent cocktails prior to dining. The service was wonderful! Loved our meal and the view of the bay!!
Service was terrible. David was curt and unavailable. Was not impressed. Cobwebs all over the ceiling as well.
Don’t advertise as a good restaurant and then have televisions on the walls.
Served bread after the main course... not impressed for the price.
Vintage Chop House is an under-appreciated gem in Northern Michigan. Menu offers great comfort food options in the Winter and is always prepared well. Many more options on the menu compared to some other N. Michigan fine dining spots.
We were told we needed to leave at a certain time before we even received our meal
Very bad policy
Great food and service!
Good food, good service. Not a place for a quiet conversation. Definitely would recommend.
We came to meet friends we had not seen in years--to catch up, talk, and
share particularly good food. The waitress was both attentive and sensitive
to our need to talk. It was perfect! Thanks. Jane H.
We were promptly seated at a two person table along side the water as requested through open table. We started with a bottle of wine and the shrimp cocktail. This was pretty good, their homemade cocktail sauce was a nice touch. The bread they put on the table (wrapped in a napkin? Did you run out of a serving bread bowl?) was not very good. Something I could get at a grocery store, kind of like a brown and serve. My wife got the crab encrusted whitefish that was pretty good. I got the filet. For 49$ this wasn’t very good. I’ve had much better filets for 10$ less. Bottom line food was mediocre at best and the views were excellent. I would try some where different next time though unless I was staying at the inn at bay harbor.
Came during restaurant week. A little disappointed that the chocolate cake was not available since it was only the third night of the week. Excellent food.
We made an OT reservation to celebrate our anniversary at Vintage Chophouse. First - the name is somewhat deceiving, there are only 2 steaks on the menu, so it’s hardly a “chophouse.”
We were seated promptly by the host, but service went downhill from there. It took 15 minutes for our waiter to greet us and give us water. Another 15 minutes to get us a martini and a Manhattan. We asked for bread before our appetizer arrived but he said we couldn’t have bread until our soups came! If I’m paying $200 for two people to have dinner I better be able to get some bread whenever I please. Our server refused to look us in the eye and never came to check on us. We had to flag him down for a second round of drinks, a clean steak knife, desert and our check.
Food was decent. Not huge portions - but very flavorful.
Restaurant ambience was nice. Overlooking the bay and very craftsman inspired on the inside.
Great meal, great service. Food was delicious.
Visited this time during Petoskey Restaurant week, so a great value also.
Beautiful view of the Bay. Lovely for sunsets and a nice meal. Service was a slow, however, we were not in a hurry so we were ok with the slow service. We told the waiter we would be taking our time and ordered a cocktail. An hour later the server came back to the table.
Dinner was amazing - food was delicious- a little loud but that was a group watching football - wait staff fantastic.
My wife and I were staying in Charlevoix and was looking for fine dining which is not typically available in northern Michigan. We were surprised to find this place on Open Table and were so happy we did! Great ambiance, impeccable service, and excellent food. The prices are actually much cheaper than you'd expect. We dined in the evening and could not take in the harbor view but that is another reason to visit!
Food was delicious. We started with the Mac and Cheese gratin, then enjoyed our meals and finished with the goat cheese cheesecake. Bonus points for the view as we got to watch the sunset as this restaurant is off the water.
Usual, menu could use some updating/ variety
I been here several times, and each time it gets better. Keep up the good work and we'll keep coming back...
Great food and incredible view outside
Variety of fish and meat both presented nicely
The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Dave our waiter did a great job explaining the menu and making suggestions. The food was great glad we ate there
The Service was horrible especially for a Marriott Property. Our Server took the order and did not come back to check on us, but did walk by the table at least 10 times. The runner brought our food, but had to remove the salad plates before serving the entrees. I had to raise my hand to flag down our server to ask for a desert menu. Seem like they don't want you to dine st their restaurant.
I used Open Table to make our dinner reservation. It worked beautifully. We were seated, as requested, at a lovely window table. Waiter was great. Food exceptional. We won't wait for a special occasion to go back!!!
The food for the price is not worth the trip, I would go here for a drink and the sunset but nothing more. Wine selection also come up short, should not call themselves a wine bar.
Consistently good food, service and great lakeview outside or inside.
At 6:30 on a Saturday night they were out of 2 entrees. That's not acceptable. Short rib entree was dry and tough. Filet and crab cake were poor: mushy crab cake and filet was overcooked and wafer thin.
Really nice outdoor dining with a beautiful view. Nice wine selection and a relaxing environment. The beef short robs were tremendous. The lamb lollipop were nothing but fat and at $20, highly disappointing. They were out of side dish that came with my wife's dinner and she got to choose from the menu but then they charged her for the selection an extra $10. The flourless cake was excellent. Overall a very enjoyable experience but some aspects were disappointing at the cost level.
Always a good dinner at the Vintage. The staff is excellent and views are amazing.
Great good and outstanding service from our waiter, James. Anxious to return.
Jason terrific, good food all way around, accomodating
Had dinner inside due to weather. Service was very good. Fortunately had beautiful weather next day at lunch ... ate outside and really enjoyed it. Actually lunch menu is better than dinner. But we love the views.
My sweet potato wedges and burger were cold. It seemed that it had been sitting quite awhile before it was brought to the table. The salmon was unapitising.
We had a really nice time. There happened to be a wedding with a live band reserved on the abated patio so we got to hear music while we watched the sunset and had our meal. Jason was our waiter and was on the ball and I would highly recommend him. The restaurant was very accomodating in moving us from inside to outside so we could enjoy the sunset and weather and then back inside after the sun set so we could finish our bottle of wine after it got cold. The food was delist, although my steak was over done it still was tender so I didn't have to send it back. We definitely will be back.
