Vinoteca di Monica
You no longer need to travel to Italy to experience the marriage between regional Italian food and wine. The menu focuses on the preservation of traditional regional dishes, with an unpretentious dedication to the true flavors that make regional Italian cuisine so popular.
The art of pasta and bread making are carried out daily, for your sampling, where the freshest ingredients is an everyday affair. VINOTECA di MONICA is the result of Monica’s Restaurant evolution and our passion for the Italian culture and the big role food and wine plays in its preservation.

Staff were fantastic… every one. Food was delicious!
Food was delicious and the staff was very attentive.
Fantastic food and excellent server.
The food was good, but not outstanding. The fried calamari was well cooked with tasty dips on the side. My husband ordered pork which was good, but the butternut squash side was well flavored but came pureed, a pet peeve for us both. We prefer a little texture with butternut squash. I had pasta with prosciutto but although the pasta is the excellent home made version that this place is known for, the flavorings in this dish were just not to my liking...not bad just not my taste. My daughter loved her chicken parm. The three of us shared a flourless chocolate cake which was fabulous. The menu is huge, and there are many great options. I will try again, but make different choices.
Amazing, food is great and staff friendly. Does not disappoint
Top ten best food I have ever had! The gnocchi alla tartufi AMAZING!
Where to begin?? Worst service EVER. Firstly I was insulted and laughed at for asking about subs for dietary restrictions. Finally our server acquiesced , saying “Here’s what we do for people like you” He also refused to make a substitution for another one of us ( We were told his name was Matthew) He missed 3 items in our order, brought dirty silverware and brought EACH item one at a time for all 6 of us which took 8-10 min for us to all finally be served. Some of us didn’t receive what they ordered and my “modified” order was all but tossed to me.
We did enjoy some our our meal items but as you can imagine, our taste for our food was tainted by the poor experience.
Amazing food. Felt comfortable and was not rushed. Everything was high quality. My only regret is that I got full and could not eat more!
Lovely Saturday lunch! We had noticed how popular Vinoteca Monica was, and we wanted to try it out. We ate outdoors on a gorgeous Saturday. The 3 course prix fixe menu was a great deal for $30, and for $15 more I had the wine pairing. The salad was great - fresh and perfectly dressed. Then I had bruschetta topped with arugula, and to finish the agnolotti (which we have often purchased at the pasta shop next door). We also got dessert - a decadently creamy tiramisu and two large cannoli. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.
Great brunch menu
Very good food and a lovely waiter. Super efficient place.
Great food and Atmosphere, Fresh homemade pasta!! We enjoyed a great meal before heading over to the Celtics game!
Our meals were delicious, and nicely prepared. The service from Matt was terrific. The martini, up with 3 olives, was outstanding. And, the atmosphere outside was perfect, quiet, and not crowded. You felt comfortable. Thank you for a nice evening!
Excellent overall with no negatives
Staff food service and ambience are all superior
Great food and service. Would definitely recommend.
Our favorite restaurant in the North End! This place never disappoints and we have yet to have a dish that wasn’t spectacular. Highly recommended!
We went for my wife birthday and our 5th anniversary and we were not disappointed at all!!
Great food , we got three courses and all of them were timely perfect brought to our table. Our server was very professional and attentive. Chef Yester came to our table and give us an exceptional experience regarding our occasion . Also Busser Felipe was very kind the entire time we were enjoying our experience there.Highly recommended .!!Awesome job to the whole stuff!!
Outstanding from start to finish! Pumpkin raviolis were simply scrumptious!!!! We will be back!
Really cute restaurant. The pasta is an absolute must. We ordered a margarita pizza and unfortunately it resembled an American cheese pizza. Everything else was exceptional and the wait staff did an excellent job despite being under staffed.
Good casual Italian dining, but very busy and noisy at peak hours. Staff is good but our server was a little aloof and lazy. Instead of serving us properly and wading through crowd of seated guests he decided to serve us over a banister. Odd. Food is good nothing too innovative or risky.
Excellent food all around! Two of us had the lobster ravioli, one spinach pasta, and one chicken parm - all fabulous! Great music, table linens, wine, and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!
Celebrated my daughter’s 18th birthday here. Can’t wait to come back! Exquisite!
Reserved a high top table and got a small regular height table in the corner. Waited almost 15 mins to get a waiter, asked the bartender and hostess before he showed up. And then we got a waiter that either did not care or thought a lot about himself but not very helpful or engaging. Food was good as you would expect for a North End restaurant. For our salad they gave us ground pepper from a pepper mill, when our entree arrived we asked for parmesan cheese and we were give a shaker of ground up dried cheese....just not what you expect from any type of real Italian restaurant. I waited tables for many years and my wife was a bartender for even more. It is the first time in a long time that I have not tipped 25%...only 10% and that was too much. I struggle to recommend this restaurant to friends given so many other options in the area.
One of the very best Italian restaurants in Boston. Truly outstanding- from appetizers all the way to deserts.
Constantly very good at a good value. Our go to spot in the north end.
A nice option in the North End. Food and service were good and we had a lovely table at the front window.
First time here. We are annual visitors to the North End. I think this might now be our go to place! We went for lunch. Started with Beef Carpaccio which was prepared very well with a light aoli, olive tapenade, and peppers - absolutely delicious! We both had Pasta for main courses - mine Alfredo with broccoli and his bolognese - both amazing. Bread homemade there with a delicious white bean dip! Interior nicely updated bright without the overcrowded feeling you get at some places in North End. We will definitely return!
Bad food and bad service. Make your own Italian at home. It’ll be better
The service & ambiance lived up to our expectations with a lovely window table on a beautiful and lively Fall evening. The food fell short. My “homemade “ capellini really tasted like ramen noodles from a package and the seasoning was off as well. My dish was shrimp & Angel hair ordered with a white wine, garlic sauce..yet it was overwhelmed by the rosemary sprig garnish which left everything tasting of rosemary, with all other flavors lost. My daughter’s ravioli with prosciutto & spinach seemed to be lacking any prosciutto whatsoever. The menu is quite extensive and the quality may suffer from that. We may give it another try but with so many other restaurants in the area, we’re not rushing back.
Amazing food and service. Will definitely go again.
Three adults dined here last night. The food was fantastic, especially the crapes. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Delicious and fresh food - it was amazing!
A beautiful fall night at one of my favorite North End restaurants, everyone in our party enjoyed their meals.
Great service- our waiter was so sweet and attentive! Food was delicious, cocktails were great, and atmosphere was nice. Only complaint was the music was a bit loud and not fitting the venue but otherwise amazing!
Our reservation was ready. The service was great and we loved the food!
Arrived early for our reservation and were seated promptly. Appetizers were good. Pasta entrees were unimpressive and bland. Chicken Parmigiana was a very thin cutlet with the same amount of breading as there was meat, and lacked flavor. Service was just ok.. we had to ask for drink refills more than once. It was our first time here…Would not return.
Excellent food. Ate outside and unfortunately heater didn't work. They tried but it would have been nice if they could have checked it before we sat down. Overall was a good experience .
Amazing food! Can’t go wrong with any of it
