Vinoteca di Monica
You no longer need to travel to Italy to experience the marriage between regional Italian food and wine. The menu focuses on the preservation of traditional regional dishes, with an unpretentious dedication to the true flavors that make regional Italian cuisine so popular.
The art of pasta and bread making are carried out daily, for your sampling, where the freshest ingredients is an everyday affair. VINOTECA di MONICA is the result of Monica’s Restaurant evolution and our passion for the Italian culture and the big role food and wine plays in its preservation.

Perfect location for an outside dinner. Being a block off of busy Hanover St. was perfect. Everything was delicious, especially the artichoke antipasti. Our server was fantastic. Very attentive, personable and easy going!
This was a very nice family owned business. They were not busy bc we got reservations at 3p on a Sunday. Perfect amount of people. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was good and came out hot. The location reminded us of being in a street in Italy. We would go back if we were grom the neighborhood.
Absolutely love this place! We’ve eaten here a number of times and are never dissapointed. The service is pleasant and attentive. The menu interesting and well executed.
Love their brunch, craft cocktails, consistency. Great spot.
We have been here a few times, and it’s just so amazing every single time. The service is awesome, the food is fantastic, and the vibe is great!
Went for drinks and some of our party got food. Great service even knowing they were very busy. Food was excellent and will definitely be going back for dinner.
Food was delicious and our waiter very attentive for a busy Saturday night. It was a little tight with seating inside but overall very enjoyable. Can’t wait to go back!
Excellent food, very helpful and attentive waiter
Incredible meal with even better service. Our table was right next to the open windows facing the street and we felt like we were in Italy. Truly the heart of the north end.
The restaurant was good. Overall, a wonderful menu and good service. I was surprised that it was bit empty for being a SAT lunchtime, but most restaurants in the area were as well.
Awesome food but very loud. We sat by the kitchen and overheard some choice comments from the staff. They really hustle, so maybe understandable frustration, but we did not need to hear it.
Delicious food, great vibe. Service was good. Loved the Zuppe De Pesce
The pasta was outstanding; the mushroom ravioli was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing. We sat at a table inside right by an open window which was perfect.
Louis, our server, was exceptional! Very fine place!
Fantastic service. My food was okay and my companion’s was great.
Fantastic as always. Great service and great food. Love the Tajarin.
I always have a great experience here! Friendly waitstaff and the service is on point!
When my husband and I don’t feel like cooking, we know Vinoteca has us cover. Love seating at the bar where we can still watch our sports. Started with a out of this world mushroom bruschetta, Veal Chop cooked to perfection for dinner and of course bread pudding to end it. Thank you again Vinoteca.
Fantastic food. Outstanding service
Went for brunch. Full menu was available. Great for outdoor seating and taking in the beauty of the North End.
We absolutely enjoyed our Dinner at Vinoteca di Monica. The food and service were both wonderful!
Luis gave great recommendations and service. We loved everything he suggested. The food was great! A definite must return!
I’ve been to Monica’s many times but was very disappointed with a recent visit. The fettuccine Alfredo and chicken had no flavor, the meatball appetizers were dry and hard and the fried calamari was so heavily breaded and deep fried you could barely taste the calamari. The best thing we ordered was actually the bread under the meatball appetizer. We did not get offered any bread to start. When we got the bill there were items on there that we didn’t order. Hopefully it was just a bad experience.
FANTASTIC! Homemade pasta-to die for!! Excellent service, never rushed, wonderful wine lovely limon salad of Bibb lettuce. Beef ravioli & chicken with rigatoni & broccoli. All simply amazing!!
Just great. Perfect table and food
The place is nice and the ambiance cool. Food wise only the pasta is good. Risotto we had looks more like paella with a lot of lobster I have to say, that was the good part. Service not that good and price wise a little bit expensive vs the food. Wine selection very good.
We had a very lovely out door meal. The meals were booked to perfection complimented by a reasonably priced and tasty Super Tuscan wine. Special thanks to Alex for his thoughtfulness and great service!
The food is excellent and the service is as well. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Pretty restaurant! Good service, nice portions. Italian bread was freshly baked and served with white bean dip. Pomegranate Bellini was spot on. We loved the fried calamari and veal parm. Lobster ravioli had good flavor, but the sauce was a bit runny. Sautéed asparagus was okay. Request a window table to people-watch during your meal. We would visit again; one of the nicest restaurants in the North End!
We love Vinoteca Monica's brunch and it was great to be back after a year and a half due to COVID. The Colezione alla Romana (also known as Spaghetti Carbonara) is amazing. No matter how hard we try, we cannot get even close when we make it at home. The Fried eggs on rustic toast with Prosciutto was was the other dish that we ordered. It is different from most breakfast options you get at brunch, a rustic Italian version of bacon and eggs, and well worth getting. We split the two dishes and had a lovely time. We enjoy dinners there too, a few outdoors the past couple years and their take-out seafood pasta dishes also travel very well. An all-around wonderful restaurant.
The food was exceptional. Fresh pasta was perfect. Out of my week of dining out in Boston -half the time being in the North end- this was hands down the best food.
Small quaint place with great food. They now offer outdoor dining which expands their capacity. Great service as well.
Crammed seating (par for the course in N. End). My meal was OK, the other dishes were flavorless. Really rushed as well, as they had long lines, so didn't even bother with dessert.
Our tiny table was too close to two other people who were talking very loudly. Irritating.
The food here is always outstanding! Our server gave us some great recommendations from the menu and was extremely friendly and polite. Will definitely be back soon.
Food was just ok. Appetizers (burrata bruschetta and ricotta fritters) were the best part of the meal. Pastas were bland. Service terrible and slow and an incredibly noisy place; my kids had to shout across a tiny table to hear each other.
Professional and. Friendly staff, excellent food and vibrant atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Our waitress Albana was very sweet and attentive. The food was fantastic! My date night was magic. We walked home to South Boston!
Fantastic food! Very lively & busy - it was Saturday night.
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Boston. Can't go wrong with their handmade pasta! So delicious.
