We had a great time and i'll definitely go back. Good food. Extensive bar.
The restaurant was closed
I took a rideshare after making a reservation on July 5th for 6:00pm only to arrive and find the restaurant locked up tight. It would have been nice if your online booking app had been informed that you were closed that day.
This restaurant was closed. We booked online and then headed over, and the lights were on but the door was locked. We were very disappointed, as I had heard good things.
I met a date there after making a reservation on Open Table and the restaurant was closed. This was Tuesday, July 2nd, so not a day they’re normally closed or a holiday. Seems like poor management.
This place cancelled my reservation about 48 hrs before my reservation. Allegedly saying they are closed. Then why does the website say they are open that day? I had to scramble to find a table for 8 people on short notice. I will never go to this place with its crappy customer service.
Expensive for what you receive Nothing special Menu not attractive and did not stir my appetite
love the small plate conversion of the past year or so. they constantly up their game with creativity, local sources, wine selections & fabulous service. a real neighborhood gem.
This place is terrific. The waiter was superb. Try the cornbread.
I had my 29th birthday here with a few close friends and I have to say that this place is amazing! The location, mixed with the atmosphere of the restuarent was perfect to bring in the festivities! The waitstaff were great and were also in on suprising me with a birthday cake :)
This was my first visit since new chefs changed the concept and menu. Wow, very impressed! My dining partner and I each had the three course meals and a couple of snacks. Each was perfectly executed. I only have one suggestion and that is to have more dishes that complement each other. It was a little difficult to curate a cohesive meal from the various dishes.
Excellent variety of menu choices, excellent staff suggestions, excellent accommodation of reservation time and changing party size.
The grilled bokchoy was to die for! But so was every dish that we had. The attention we got was just what we needed - friendly and discreet, not hovering. And we got the quiet corner we had requested. Will go back any day.
Went in with a party of 5 and all got the pre-fixe menu. Had our waiter curate the dishes for us and he did Ana amazing job. Each dish was paired and coursed perfectly. Would highly recommend to any friends and family. We had such a fun and tasty evening!
The food was really good as was the overall dining experience. The chef recommended we try a number of dishes from the 3-course menu and it didn’t disappoint.
Highly recommend Vino Vino for great quality food, plus excellent atmosphere and service.
The food was absolutely fantastic, and our waiter was extremely attentive. My one suggestion is one I would put out there for all small plates restaurants: when you see that the dinner party has one or two more people than the number of, say, shrimp, you're bringing out, it would be good to ask if the party wishes to incur an upcharge so that the number of shrimp on the small plate is equal to the number of people in the party. Otherwise, everything was absolutely perfect!
My husband and I really like Vino Vino, but we have found that their prices are really high compared to similar restaurants we've been to. And it seems they've raised their prices since we were last there. Their food is of excellent quality, but quantity for the price is meager at best. Even the wine by the glass prices were raised, and the bottle prices are too expensive for us. Their menu is diverse, but not many options on the main plates (or wines by the glass). It's a nice romantic restaurant, but they might want to consider cutting back on their prices and adding more food and wine by the glass options.
Consistently good food. Platres are directionally small for the price. Wine prices are about 3X retail and glass prices about 1/4 of bottle prices so a glass costs almost what a retail bottle would cost. Good service but the bar can get way behind. A good experience but I wish plates were slightly larger and wine prices lower.
No coffee, no enough pilsen beer, small dishes.
I am only disappointed because of the fundamental changes since I was there last. I enjoyed strolling around the room, shopping and learning about wines on the wall. I missed the small plate/large plate concept, and was disgruntled to see that the fixed price menu was $40/pp!! Add that to the fact that one would be hard-pressed to find a wine under $50 a bottle. Everything I loved about this restaurant is gone. I could go to Jeffrey's for what it cost to heat here.
Great for dinner w/ friends! We went with another couple and shared the “prix fixe” menu. The service was outstanding - from wine recommendations to education about the menu. Our food was delivered at the right pace, with enough time to enjoy each before moving to the next. We were never rushed and were able to enjoy a great evening with fantastic food in a cool atmosphere. Great value for the food and experience. Highly recommend!
The cocktail I had was nice and the snack/bites were flavorful (and small). It all struck me as pretty pricey for what one gets.
Such an amazing evening! The ambiance cant be beat, and the food and wine was amazing. Nicest hostess and wait staff ever too! Waiter was super knowledgeable. Coming back ASAP!
I went with two other people and we tried every main dish on the menu except the salad. We also made our own cheese and charcuterie board. It was some of the best food I’ve ever had and for such a good price! The meal wasn’t cheap but it wasn’t overpriced by any means. The two cocktails I had were both very creative and balanced. I’m looking forward to going back and trying the rest of their cocktails!
The service was great! The food portions were too small and super expensive. I wouldn't go back, but the waiter/staff was extremely nice!
We usually love this plPortions have gotten smaller
$250 for a few drinks and a light dinner. Great ambience.
Excellent seafood options! Great ambience and service. Server was very knowledgeable on wine and pairing.
I enjoyed my meal at Vino Vino. The food was excellent, and the service was very good. However, the portions were a tad small, and the 80's pop-music didn't really fit the atmosphere one normally expect from a wine bar-restaurant.
Great place for a date with your significant other. Server was very knowledgeable about the food and wine.
Server insulted my date. TLDR he thought we were too young to be clientele and was very brisk with his service. For such an expensive meal, it was really offputting
Amazing experience and food
Food and wine were excellent and place is very pleasant. BUT it is very expensive. For my wife and I a place to go for special occasion only!
Great Valentine Day meals with perfect pairings. We had two of the "Love It" meals, each course was nicely prepared, wonderful taste.
We had not been to Vino Vino in a few years and returned to celebrate a birthday for dinner. Fantastic time and glad we chose Vino Vino for occasion.
Friends in town, wanted something relaxing and yummy. Took the well behaved kiddo as well and totally fine. Great food.
The small plates were interesting and delicious. The service was outstanding. Really loved the grilled octopus.
I've always been a Vino Vino fan. The food is elevated but pretentious. All of the wood in the interior is warm and relaxing. Thank you to the staff that found and returned my credit card!!
The food was fantastic. Frankly it was the star of the show. A couple of things: 1. If you are going to call yourself Vino, Vino then have a big selection of wines. The list is a bit of a let down. 2. Invest in a proper menu. There are a lot of gems on the menu but it is laid out poorly and in a small font. Invest in a 8.5x 11" piece of paper :)
Seriously great food however, we will be back.
Always a pleasure to visit this fine establishment. The slightly Gothic lighting, the casual yet attentive waiters, and the delicate yet punchy flavors of the food all add up to a fine time ; - )
