Service was just ok, even though it wasn't crowded. Our waitress was slow to return, never asked if we wanted another drink or water, and seemed absent from the room all the time, even though she had several tables. Our beef sandwich was just ok, and the cooked vegetables were mushy and soggy. My shrimp were great -- tender and flavorful, but soaked in butter. We have eaten here several times, and were really looking forward to visiting again. So disappointed.
We love Vinny Vanucchi's. We've been coming for a handful of years now and it hasn't disappointed yet. Good service, delicious food and love the place all around. We'll be back again!
We love vinny's, every visit to Galena includes a visit to Vinny's!! Casual, fun, delicious. It's wonderful, I highly recommend it
The ribeye was $10 steak & eggs quality, not $28 date night quality. The pasta was ok at best.
The bruschetta was very good -- the food itself was very bland...lack of flavor.
The restaurant is charming. We had a small table in the corner on the upper floor and it was quiet. Food was good. Only complaint is that the lettuce in the salad had browned.
The three of us ordered two dishes and with the bread and salad we took home leftovers. The cream pasta with scallops, shrimp and crab was wonderful, garlic bread was very good. For a hot spot like Galena the prices were good. Pleasant dining we were in the small room with only two tables. We enjoyed the food and would recommend Vinnies.
Vinny's is very accommodating. Called to move reservation up a little earlier than first set. They are very friendly. Always a wonderful dining experience. Food is delicious!!
Dinner was "ok", I was expecting a little more for the price.
We had a Great waitress for our date night. We drove from DeWitt. We were early for our reservation and still got in right away. The food was GREAT, friendly helpful staff. My husband and I will be returning!
We were a table of 15, the service was excellent, food delicious as always. This is a "go to" place for us when in Galena.
Our waitress Mindy was outstanding and our meals ....excellent!
My daughters and I had a girls weekend to Galena and ate at Vinnys for an early birthday to me. Misty was our waitress and was excellent!! Her handmade drinks (Cosmo and Lynchburg lemonade were yummy!!). The food, as always, was delicious!! One of our favorite places on Main Street Galena!!
We have been going here for 25 yrs. We always have great service and great food.
Generous portions. Friendly staff. Great Italian ambiance.
Wonderful time, great service, delicious food for my Mom’s 60th bday!
Bad luck I guess, very poor signs directing you to the main entry. Waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. When I decided to seat myself that's when they made an attempt to speak to us. The table was so slanted that our water glasses slid across and almost ended up in our laps. Kinda comical night. Our food was ok not what we expected. The garlic Bread is very good and addicting. I had a spicy sausage pasta, it had very thin sliced circular pieces of sausage, I found this very odd like deli meat thrown in or something. The waiter was very nice and patient and when we didn't care for a drink he came to the table with a new one without us even asking, he must have seen the look on her face. LOl. We finished and left deciding we'll try other places before coming back.
This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in Galena. I've probably eaten there 10+ times. It has degraded consistently over that time. It's at best a fast casual restaurant now. I'll be looking for another favorite now.
As always an enjoyable experience the food was great the salad and bread were excellent. It made a special occasion special. Recommended
Connor was our waiter. He was very attentive. It was Valentine's Day, so I'm sure he was a little busier than usual, but you wouldn't have known it from his having tended to us numerous times as we waited on our food. I like my ribeye well done no pink, so that was taking some time. We assured him we were in no hurry. We love the ambiance of Vinny's and have made it our dinner spot when we are up there to ski.
Our food was delicious!!! Cooked to perfection. We ate every last morsel and dessert on top of That! Connor brought me a divine gluten free chocolate cake that was the best gluten free dessert I've ever had! Having a food allergy to gluten makes finding good food tough. Not the case at Vinnys!
My husband and I enjoyed everything about our Valentine's dinner, and left a tip that we hope reflected this!!
We look forward to our return!
Renea and Randy Judd
Another amazing experience! Brought a set of new friends - 1st timers - to Galena and it was a hit once again. Thank you!
Awesome food, staff, and ambiance!!! Highly recommended!
the food was awful. Shrimp scampi was booked, not broiled. Veal masala was served on noodle with so much horrible sauce. Service was excellent. Would not recommend
Service was great as well as food. Very private and quiet was able to enjoy our dinner date on our weekend away without children.
Food was “ok”. Nothing special. We had tortallini carbonara which tasted like it was out of a can, and the veal parmigiana was good but again the red sauce was just ok.
Our waiter was a bit quiet and didn’t clean the table between courses so dishes kept piling up. We were the only ones in the restaurant for the better part of our meal so it wasn’t that he was busy. Maybe he was new?
Overall experience was just ok but for the price there are much better options so we won’t be returning.
Great food and a charming ambiance. The owner was there and very friendly and welcoming. The garlic bread is amazing. We will definitely be back!
Great food in a nice setting and the garlic bread is to die for!The only downfalls were service was a little slow and it was FREEZING upstairs where we were sitting. Overall, a nice experience and we would try it again!
The bruschetta and the lasagna were both phenomenal. The restaurant had a nice view looking outside. The hosts were attentive and friendly when we walked in the restaurant.
Cozy, warm place with great pasta & wine. Our favorite place to eat in Galena.
When ever I am in Galena for the weekend I tend to make a reservation at Vinny Vanucci's. Its a nice/unique atmosphere, good food and not overly expensive. Its just a quaint little restaurant in a quaint little town.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Vinny's has a huge selection to choose from and all of the food options are fantastic. Service was very good. Was able to get right in and did not wait for our table.
Good food in true Italian style. Garlic bread was really good and abundant.
We had dinner on New Years Eve and it was disappointing. The waiter was difficult to track down, our salad was frozen and we had to send the steak back because it was very undercooked. My husband commented that his sausage ragu was no better than something we could make at home and the sauce was watery. Will not return and do not recommend.
Great! Meeting the owner last night was fabulous! Thank you for always taking care of our group on NYE in the cave. Meghan did an amazing job- great food and service!!!
We have been to Vinnys before. Food is great, the ambiance and service perfect and is priced right.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We love the location, ambiance, and food. We had a wonderful time but a couple of disappointments. The server forgot to tell us about the special, which she did after we reminded her.
I had ordered a gin martini on the rocks. The waitress brought a martini up. When I told her, she agreed to exchange it, but the replacement did not taste right. It had a salty taste. I ended up telling the Maitre D' who quickly brought me a correct cocktail. I had Pasta Ala Vinny for dinner, which was excellent.
My wife ordered some pasta and asked if it could come with one meat ball. The server said yes, but when she brought it, there was no meat. We did not get charged for the meat ball.
So, not sure what was going on, but not the top notch service we normally get. All in all, still enjoyed our New Year's dinner and would probably return.
Very good Italian food. The service was quick but not pushy. It’s located in a quaint old building. I would recommend it to my friends.
They worked hard to accommodate our group size changes. Food was3.5/5 overall among the group. Seafood was raved about...the veal was tough. Our service was nice, funny but lacked common sense. I.e.: if you serve a table of 8 3 different appetizers, you should make sure all have plates. Also, only one of us had silverware. Bring bread? Then bring butter and oil w parm. Overall, nice....we'd go back. The 3 flights of stairs in sub zero temps were a bit painful.
The food was excellent but the service was very slow. Not that our server wasn’t pleasant but he was young and too inexperienced to accommodate our group of eight. Also I made our reservation thru the open table link to take advantage of a $10 reward which Vinny Vannucchis would not honor. Our group of eight spent close to $400 which the inback of a $10 reward would have been insignificant. Our reason for booking this reservation was in part to take advantage of the reward .
