What a wonderful way to spend a St. Louis summer evening with low humidity - enjoying a fabulous outdoor roof top dinner at Vin de Set! Excellent food and service top off a great experience!
We had dinner on the top deck which was beautiful. Menu was inventive and all food was well prepared and presented. The restaurant was busy with several large tables and service seemed slower than we had remembered. Cocktail menu was first rate although the sangria cocktail seemed watered down which may have been a result of melted ice from sitting on the bar in 90 degree heat. Overall enjoyable, especially the rooftop patio.
Made a reservation for 6 to do brunch. Easy to make a reservation. Service was good for a buffet brunch. Food was good Fresh whip cream with the waffles. Enjoyed biscuits and gravy as well as the crepes. After the good food, don't know if I would ever pay 26 dollars for buffet again.
Food was not good at all. Very disappointed. Service and atmosphere was great.
The staff was amazing and made the experience great for our biethday celebration.
Both the food and service were excellent. The wine list has a nice range of varietals to choose from at different price points. I chose the Prie Fix and was thoroughly stuffed. I would choose 3 courses instead of 4 next time. Everything was excellent. The only thing I didn't care for was the mashed potatoes which had a strong burnt flavor.
The outdoor seating is very nice. You have a view of the Arch. The chairs could have been more comfortable though. I wore a dress and the exposed part of my thighs were hurting after a while from the plastic on the chairs.
Our waiter was excellent. Attentive enough without being overly so. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a nice night out.
Food was fine; service, drinks and ambiance were very good.
Food was excellent. Service was slow between courses.
We went for a birthday celebration, and it was great. Charles was very attentive and helpful. The food was excellent. We went on a Sunday night, so it was very quiet. We were even able to sit inside for dinner and outside for dessert. The only downside was that the inside seating was a bit chilly. Otherwise, wonderful!
Great opportunity to enjoy a rooftop patio with the surprisingly cool weather. Excellent views and atmosphere. The food was good. Not great. But the overall experience was worth the time and money. We enjoyed ourselves and would do again, weather permitting.
Not what I remembered it. The service was horrible. Brought wrong orders 3 times. Food had no flavor. It was blend and cold. Manager asked how everything was, I was honest about our experience. He heard me but did nothing. Was not looking for a free meal, but he could of offered a cup of coffee!
Good food, good service.
Service was good. We planned to sit outside on the patio, but the heat drove us inside. Food was above average and priced well. Nice place but nothing stood out.
Wonderful spot for birthday lunch even though nothing is offered for birthday dessert. The menu selections are so varied and the Trio is a great offering. The crab beignets are a bit misleading. I questioned our waiter about them and asked if they were actual beignets or more of a tempura. They are small round bites that seem to be more tempura to me so will not order again, especially at that price.
Excellent service. Food was delicious. Soft biscuits, creamier gravy. Gigantic blackberries. Omelette bar above par. Finished off w the most delicious ginger cookie.
My wife and I were very happy with the food and service. They had great variety and wonderful choices. Would return there for sure.
Loved the ambiance on the rooftop. Food and service were excellent.
It was nice but the would t rush back!
The overall ambience is fine, but my wife and I were there for our anniversary and the attached picture was my view. It was 12 inches behind my wife and if staring into a large air intake isn't enough, it was filthy. My wife's entree was really good (a chicken dish for the nightly special), but my medium rare filet was tough (as filets go) and lacking flavor. Our server was great.
We loved the ambiance. The service was outstanding. and I don’t hand out that compliment often. The food was ok. One dish in particular was great, and that was the Ratatouille. They cooked that dish to near perfection. The lamb ordered for the table was way overcooked, but was corrected and replaced. The mussels were not good, and the escargot was very mediocre. If the ambiance and the ratatouille weren’t amazing, we probably wouldn’t return. We will be returning for those two things, the desserts and the wine! Also, our four year old twins seemed to love it! Get the ratatouille!!!
Second time: first was way better: onion soup really close to inedible: zero broth rock hard cristini only barely warm!
Salad a bit over dressed:
And pork underseasoned:
Comparing first to second made for aniversery disappointment
Took a friend for lunch for a special occasion - it was perfect. Fast but not rushed service (perfect service). The rooftop is a great place to relax in the middle of a workday. My friend had a salad and the soup of the day (tomato) and I had the beef bourguignon - both were wonderful. Good coffee.
This was one of the worst dining experiences across the board that I’ve had. We did put that it was our anniversary in the reservation, it was never acknowledged. No big deal. We waited over 20 minutes to order drinks, another 15 minutes for them to come out, the food came out prepared incorrectly and had to be remade, additional drink orders were never taken, even waters were empty, bread was served with the main meal, there was no apology from the server, the manager did acknowledge it when he came over to ask how everything was but nothing changed throughout the course of the meal. His explanation was that they were understaffed because of an emergency, yet after tables cleared out, we still never saw our server.
I understand that things happen in every business and hate to leave any business a bad review but nothing about this meal was a good experience.
We waited 15 minutes for anyone to greet us at our table. We had 3 assigned servers. One we never met, the last two seemed angry and overwhelmed. We were there 3 hours. The food service was very slow.
Good food for the price. One of the best Brunch Buffets in St. Louis.
Love, love, love Vin de Set. The food is delicious and the patio space is so romantic. I’ve heard the Sunday Brunch is very good and would like to try that sometime. The only downside were the motorcycle noise on Chouteau Ave that night but I have been there many times where I had not noticed that type of noise.
We loved the friendly service, awesome atmosphere and all around good vibes. Really cool concept. The huge minus were the dinner offerings. We ordered the specials for the day and they were terrible. Just awful. The desserts were great though... we will definitely come back for bourbon and desserts.
Everything was good and portions were surprisingly ample.
The shrimp crepes were outstanding!
Vin De Set never disappoints
Always a good bistro menu. Great patio looking over the city. Too hot for that when we were there, and the inside was packed and noisy (on a Monday night, when few places are open) for the first hour, then it cleared out and the crowd transferred to the patio.
We have been there on other occasions and very much enjoyed it.
We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server didn’t come to the table right away but when she did, she was pleasant and helpful. The food choice and quality was excellent. We will return there for brunch.
We have eaten at Vin de Set many times because the food is great and the rooftop view is spectacular. We decided to celebrate our 20th anniversary there. The meal started great and we got wonderful service from the engaging Charles. I'm not sure that I have ever sent back a meal but this time I did. My 7 oz filet ordered medium rare but came out well done, then came out 2 more times raw. I finally got a medium rare filet, but by that time my husband had finished his meal long ago and the potatoes and asparagus sides were stone cold. Disappointing. It shouldn't be that hard.
our server was great - answered all questions, helped with selections and understood the specials.
The noise level was almost unacceptable. Not sure I would recommend the restaurant
unless seating was on the patio. Too hot for the night we went.
Inside dining was really hard with being able to talk.
The restaurant was full, but didn’t seem crowded. Plenty of room to move. Noise level was low. You can easily converse with the entire table. We had seven, and they pulled it off without a hitch. Let us choose our seating preference. Great menu without being overwhelming.
Just a great experience
Chaz was an outstanding waiter and the food was great!
Was impressed with everything about our experience. Only sad thing was too hot to sit out on the roof patio. It looked fantastic!
Charming and delicious. A favorite to take out of towners too.
What a neat place. The inside seating was comfortable and the rooftop seating looked amazing. We'll be back!
