Service was very good. Food was a shrug minus. Nothing special, came across as chain worthy. Noise lever was horrible. Lots of kids running around, loud and seemingly unattended (parents at the bar?). Assume it would be just the ticket if you are a family with kids.
this was a good experience. the food was really good, the service and staff were wonderful, and the prices were fair. the beer selection for a place in asheville could have been a little bit better and the room was a little bit loud, but i would easily give this one a 4+ star rating!
Good service. Good food. Very classy place. Lots of birthday celebrations when we went.
We love date nights at any of the Biltmore Restaurants! The Village Social has some of the freshest seafood in Asheville. The mules at The Village Social are a must try. They rotate flavors of mules and us seasonal ingredients. They are fantastic!
We had a reservation at 8pm but arrived a little early and were sat immediately. We had the cheddar biscuits with butter & jam as an app and the shrimp and grits and ribeye for entrees. All were very delicious. Service was prompt. Would definitely visit again.
Amazing everything!! Service, food drinks, etc! 100-% recommend
We enjoyed a nice quiet dinner on the patio. Our waitress, Cynthia, was super friendly. The food was delicious
Outstanding food, nice setting indoor or out and excellent service!
My visit was to celebrate my birthday and Heidi, Sarah, and especially Tonya made it extra special! Thank you so much ladies. I truly appreciate it. And, the food was delicious!!!
Village Social is always a great meeting place for good food and comfort. Quite laid back and a welcoming atmosphere whether you're at a high-top table in the bar area, at a regular table in the main room, or lucky enough to have a beautiful day to sit on the patio. As you would expect, the service is top-notch, the food is wonderfully prepared, very tasty, and well presented. You'll be pleased with any item on the menu (scallops are my favorite as is their ginger slaw). Yes, it's on the pricey side so it's something to be savored and enjoyed!! Five stars in my book!!
Was my least favorite place to eat based upon what I got - My Husband enjoyed his burger but I did not enjoy my crab cake sandwich... The complimentary birthday dessert however was great but the fries were subpar from THE BISTRO... It was just bland... Our Server was nice but not spectacular like everyone else we have encountered thus far - Probably won't eat there again... However, it's convenience to the hotel we stayed at and location was great...
Very nice venue, good food and excellent service.
The service was decent but the food left a LOT to be desired. The 1/2 pound shrimp appetizer was 8 small shrimp. It was only a 1/2 pound if you add in the bowl filled with ice. My wife ordered a burger that the server suggested as a lettuce wrap. It came as a burger pattie on salad lettuce. All toppings were forgotten and when we asked about the "wrap" we were then told they don't do that. How do you suggest something you don't do. My order was also wrong and the kids popcorn shrimp tasted soggy and old. The only thing worth going back for was the house sangria and the lady doing live acoustic music was outstanding.
This is a lovely, comfortable restaurant, and quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation. Food was excellent.
Service was poor. Waited for 45 minutes for appetizers, waiter had too many tables and informed us of that when we were seated. We were also told by the waiter that we needed to hurry and order our main Course because the kitchen was backed up, but we hadn’t finished our appetizers . I found the manager and she did compensate for the appetizers being 45 minutes late, however the service was poor. The scollops and shrimp were good, however our evening was not enjoyable.
The atmosphere was charming and pleasant like almost everything at Biltmore. We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and our table for two was set and ready. The restaurant was busy and our server probably had too many tables, she seemed overwhelmed - we had to ask for water two or three times; although our wine was served right away. The food was NC Tilefish and grilled chicken. The tilefish was not as the server said - it was neither flaky nor light. And the grilled chicken was rather tasteless. All in all both the food and service were just so-so; the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant was lovely.
We’ve been coming to Village for years. This is the first dinner experience with this restaurant. Maybe it was an off day? Maybe it was they were understaffed? Maybe it was because of the 4th of July holiday? I don’t know what the maybe was, but the experience was underwhelming from start to finish. We were seated and waited 15 minutes until anyone showed up for our drink order. After ordering, it took 1 hour and 10 minutes for our entrees to be served. I can understand if there is a legitimate reason for the delay. However, our server went AWOL for the better part of the time there. No check ins, updates, water refills, or explanation until 10 minutes before our food was finally served. The food was over cooked, uninspired and quite frankly not worth the price. Breakfasts at Village Social are typically excellent. I would not recommend dinner.
4th of July meal before the fireworks at Biltmore: We ate tapas style, enjoying several snacks like beer battered Brussel sprouts, mussels, barata, grilled oysters and She Crab soup, accompanied by Biltmore’s own sparkling wine. Everything was delicious!
The scallops ,crab cake & salad were excellent. The entree was just ok as it was very bland.
The food and service was superior. The server was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. A great all-around experience.
Birthday, great meal.
The service was very good. Food arrived to the table
Quickly. Food was as expected. Tasted very good.
It started off on a bit of a bad note when my husband asked for an empty table by the window. The hostess told us that we couldn’t sit there as there was no server available, but after seating us at a table near the entrance, she sat a couple at the exact table we asked for! Our server was good and attentive. The she crab bisque was excellent! I had the shrimp and grits nd it was okay. I am super picky about my grits and these were a bit runny and I couldn’t see or taste the cheese in them. I did have some shells on the shrimp that I had to pull out if my mouth! My husband enjoyed his chicken and my daughter loved her ribeye! Our bill was $115 for three meals and three drinks (no alcohol). I thought it was a bit overpriced but you are at Biltmore!! While it was good, I would definitely try one if the other restaurants on the grounds!
Food was good, little expensive for what you get. But it is the Biltmore Estate and everything is expensive there. Not affordable or families.
We ate outside and the number of flies was overwhelming. We requested to be moved inside and the hostess said she could not accommodate us even though our request was 10 minutes after the initial seating outside and our original reservation was for inside.
Good food, excellent service, very nice atmosphere and respite from walking about the compound. Strongly recommend
Our lunch was outstanding. We arrived a few minutes before opening and we were promptly seated and given the best care. Food was delicious and helped create great memories.
Had eaten here 2 nights ago and had lovely meal and great waiter. Unfortunately had not very nice wait person this time. Took forever to get drinks and food. Person rolled their eyes and sneered when we said no appetizers. I felt compelled to say oh we plan on dessert but I did feel offended by the implied "you are so cheap" attitude. All the other tables seated after us had their drinks and orders well before we did and left well before we were able to. Dinner and payment took almost 2 hours for 1 round of drinks and entrees. Maybe if we hadn't had such charming service the previous evening, at the Bistro and downtown (Corner Kitchen, Chesnut) I wouldn't have been so taken aback by the attitude. Overall an unpleasant experience.
It was not busy and the staff had us seated immediately. The table was very clean and the cut flowers at the table were very pleasant. Our waiter came by shortly and advised us on the daily specials and on draft beverages. He took our drink orders and promptly came back with our beverages. The ambiance was relaxed but the staff worked hard to attend to the diners. Our lunch orders were delicious. I had the shrimp and grits and found the grits to be smooth and the sauce to be velvety and rich with shrimp flavor. The grilled shrimp were perfectly cooked and delicious. My wife had the turkey and pesto sandwich and enjoyed it thoroughly. The french fries were lightly seasoned and very tasty. Our waiter was very attentive and brought us our check promptly when we indicated we were ready to go. A very enjoyable experience.
Food was excellent. We had come accustomed to the wonderful service Loud, lots of kids & mediocre service/staff. Great for families but not relaxing. Food was very good.
We were staying at the Village Hotel, so it was very convenient. The service (attentive and congenial), the food (risotto with salmon, frogmore stew), and the wine (reserve chardonnay) were great! We ate outside on a perfect Friday evening, and the live music (folk/bluegrass) was a welcome accompaniment. We would not hesitate to recommend and to return.
The menu led us to believe they had a wide variety of seafood selections, there were not many to choose from.
Excellent food and music!
The food was outstanding. The shrimp & grits dish was probably the best I've ever had!
We were 7 for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival, despite it being crowded, our table was ready and we were sat immediately.
Our server was excellent, explaining the menu items and beverage choices. He was on top of out order and seemingly always present.
The wine prices were quite fair, averaging $20/bottle markup over retail. We chose a Biltmore rose champagne followed by a red blend, The Hunt. Both were very good and enjoyed by all.
Our starters included the Burrata and Feta cheese salads, both excellent. We also shared the mussels, crab cake and biscuit appetizers. All were quite yummy. We also shared the beer battered Brussels sprouts and chick pea salads, both surprisingly beyond expectations. We all agreed we would order all the appetizers again.
We’re we’re getting full, so we ordered 4 mains to share:
1) Pork chop over local beans was very good but we all felt the beans were too salty. They were left over. The pork chop was totally gone and very well grilled
2) Shrimp and grits were excellent. Well flavored sauce, perfect grits and fresh crunchy succulent shrimp.
3) Seafood stew also quite good. We felt the shrimp could have been larger sized. The fresh corn niblets added a lot of texture and was a nice twist.
4) Vegetarian Orzo with mushrooms and leeks quite excellent.
Dessert choices included the brownie and vanilla ice cream, very well done because of the perfect ratio of brownie size to ice cream. We also had the dulce de leche cheese cake, which disappeared within seconds.
Overall, we agreed we would return again to try other menu choices. Having the live music made the experience even better.
When I made reservation I requested a table where we could enjoy the music; i also shared that we were celebrating a birthday. Apparently this info did not make it to the host. The steak was tough the pork chop was dry; presentation was colorless. The waitress was very nice when we both ordered salads to go with our meal, she suggested we split 1 salad instead as the salads are large. She was right! The salad was the best part of the meal; crab cake was also good. Food was way overpriced for the quality. The pork BBQ sandwich we had for lunch (at the Market) made for a much better meal!
Excellent service, amazing food, wonderful surroundings on the beautiful Biltmore Estate. Loved it!
We had a wonderful evening. Will return again, Thankyou.
Lovely outdoor lunch. Shrimp & grits were outstanding. Riesling was very good. I just wish I had received credit for this dining experience as it appears that I have not to date.
