Spectacular Service, food & service on a extremely busy night.
The View hosted a spectacular holiday event with an outstanding view of the boat parade. It was amazing.
Wonderful restaurant with a great view even at night. Staff is exceptional and the food is superb
We made a reservation for View during restaurant week. We sat promptly and ordered drinks which we received right away. We then ordered our appetizers and dinner and didn’t receive our appetizers for 45 minutes. The waitress had come over prior to that and told us it would just be a few more minutes but it wasn’t. She then came back again before the appetizers came out and told us that they lost our ticket. She offered to comp the drinks which is fine but you would think that our dinner would come out promptly after that but again it did not.
Aside from the ridiculous wait the food was ok. We received maybe 6 mussels each for our appetizers and my husband received the tiniest piece of short rib. My dinner was good (the bucatini) but the whole experience was overall poor due to the extreme wait times and subpar food. The dessert was ok but the toffee cake was clearly frozen since it came out boiling hot (microwave?)
The restaurant was hardly packed and I didn’t feel that the amount of people there would justify the poor service especially since people seated after us were receiving their food. Our reservation was for 6 and we left after 8pm on a Sunday. I don’t like to rush when out to dinner and don’t mind a little wait in between courses but with tiny portions and long wait times we were hungry and annoyed. Yes it was restaurant week but it just felt like the restaurant really didn’t want to participate and maybe just shouldn’t. I like to try new places during restaurant week so I can return afterwards but that won’t happen here 😔
Our server Tricia was very nice. She was attentive but not overbearing.
I had the “Chowda” which was very good.
Three of os had the seafood dish, which was ok. Two others had the short ribs, which were eh.
I guess we just expected the food to be better.
First time dining here. Tried the LI Restaurant Week price fix menu. Loved everything we ate. Top notch 5-star service from every staff member that tended to us. Can't wait to go back :)
We went there with a party of six not knowing what to expect and were all so very happy with the total experience. The service was excellent as was the food and ambience. Not to mention that the View has an amazing view! Can’t wait to go back.
Also great for happy hour!
The food and service were superb. The setting on the water was peaceful and beautiful. And the Restaurant Week fixed price menu had enough good choices to satisfy all four of our guests.
Food was very good. Our server was very attentive and made sure we needed nothing. Drinks are a little high in price but this is a standard in the better restaurants.
View is a gem in Long Island. It's a perfect composition of what you want in a high end restaurant. You have delicious food, great service, very classic and clean ambiance right by the water and I am very glad we got to try some of their best drinks and dishes.
The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. The ambiance is awesome. Get there early and get a table by the window.
Again, View did not disappoint. Started with drinks and oysters at the bar. Our bartender, Carol, was friendly and attentive. We were seated promptly for our dinner reservation at a very nice table by the window. The sunset was lovely over the bright blue water. Mussels and chowda apps were very good. Bucatini and short rib entrees were delicious. Toffee cake and choc bomb desserts were decadent and yummy. Our server, Blanca, was pleasant and efficient, as was the other servers who also helped out. View is still our go to place for a special dinner.
We had a wonderfully delicious meal for my husband's birthday. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place worth returning to.
Food and atmosphere was fantastic. Service was good, except we were asked every couple of minutes by an employee, who was not our waitress, if we were done with our food. She was polite, but hovered and would not stop asking.
Service and food were amazing! Split the iceberg salad and each got the short rib. Both were fantastic!! Our waitress was very personable and attentive!
It was a birthday celebration and they gave us a great table! This was a Sunday Brunch event, and the food is consistently high quality as we have been to their Sunday Brunch 4 other times in the last 5 years!
We love the view! It can get very busy but the service is still great.
I am not a fan of the sushi. It's average and I would save it for a different restaurant.
Their other dishes are amazing! Everything tastes like fine dining, even their burger!
The duck tacos and thai calamari are must-trys.
The drinks are strong.
We went for our anniversary and the setting was wonderful. The waitress was lovely . We ordered an appetizer and didn’t realize it hadn’t come out yet until they brought out our dinner . The appetizer came a few minutes later and at this point we had started eating dinner and didn’t want it so politely declined it at that time . The waitress apologized and the manager came over as well to apologize (unsolicited by us , we aren’t the “get the manager types”). He bought us a round of drinks as well as dessert and removed the appetizer from the bill. Things happen and our appetizer went to another table by mistake. The food here was delicious ! I had sushi and the hubs had scallops... both were very good and fresh. I would absolutely recommend this place for any occasion ! The service was great too!
Food was delicious, and service was great. Went on a Sunday at 730, no wait to be seated.
We were seated on an aisle and I was bumped by the staff at least four times, fortunately I didn't have a drink in my hands they apologized but it kept happening. We started with a 1-1/2 dozen oysters @ $3 each we expected much better quality and some were so small which made me wonder did they split them in three. Of course not they should have discarded and replaced. I had swordfish which was small portion and bland. My wife was not please with her dish which I don't recall, however the couple which we were with said their dish was very good 50% is not an acceptable success rate. The staff was pleasant but some inexperienced bus people tried removing plates before we were done. Ambiance and lighting were pleasant.
Always the best great food and wine selections and staff is amazing
nice happy hour
give it a try right on the bay
you will not be disappointed
food and service was good
Made reservation for my birthday but when we arrived they didn't have them. Waited quite a while they looked but never found. Seated eventually anyway because they were not yet that crowded. People seated after us were waited on and served before we were. Appetizers were good but both of our entrees were major disappointments. Mine was overcooked which is sinful for seafood that costs that much. We left determined to never repeat.
Read online "a long time to be served" - and this is very true... service was not great (waitress was apologetic, but messed up a few times). Manager comp'd us for apps and drinks - I will say dinner was very good - but be prepared to be there a while.
The kitchen could not handle the reservations, we waited long between courses and soup was terrible lobster bisque along with autumn soup both watered down. Pasta was ok with lobster cold and warm. Loved the view but disappointment in dining. It was birthday celebration. Granted they took off soup lobster and our 1st round of drinks. But the experience could have been better sorry to say.
As expected a great night. Sat outside under the tent and Joe and Julia were great as usual. Never disappointed when we eat here. Try it and you will be hooked
Food was outstanding as well as the view
Wonderful view of the water. Food was delicious and graciously served. The calamari was excellent, as were the scallops and a halibut special. We will definitely return.
Our Waiter Ryan was fantastic. Personable and Attentive. You can't ask for more than that.
You cannot beat outside dining at the VIEW. We had a great lunch, our waiter Ron was the best Ive seen there. Food could be a little better.
Place is beautiful but over priced menu. There are many places where the food is better and cheaper
I had the mussels for an app they were frozen or old. my wife soup was luke warm. I had the 2 pound stuffed lobster. it wasn't a 2 pounder, stuffing was dry and mostly bread, pour presentation. wife had the chicken with mash potatoes dish didn't come with a vegetable. not worth the money only good thing about that restaurant is the view
View is outstanding. Food is only average. Recommend for view not the food.
Most of the food was good, we ordered some Sushi rolls, the green apple, a few other sushi items and their mussels. All delicious! The mussels are our favorite. For dinner, two of us had the scallops and two had the clams with bucatini. The scallops were cooked perfectly but quite salty and the lobster risotto was delicious. The clams with the Bucatini, was almost inedible, the salt content was horrendous, as if they poured and entire cup of salt into the clams, and the amount of bucatini included was legitimately maybe 4 spins of the fork. With that being said, the clam dish was pretty awful but not nearly as horrendous as our service. The waitress which we have had on several occasions, is awful, I finally remembered to write down her name to ensure, in the future to ask that we never have her again. She disappeared to who knows where for 30 minute clips, we couldn't get a drink if our lives depended on it. Even the busboys were smirking when we kept asking them to grab our waitress so that we could ask for a drink. Not positive we will go back even though we enjoyed (most of) the food, the service has been so awful (the last 4 times we have been there) I'm not sure that it's worth it.
View is one of the better restaurants in our area.
We were fortunate enough to enjoy a wonderful meal out on the deck, under perfect late summer conditions- high tide water lapping against the dock, snappers “snapping” at the water’s surface, crabs side-swimming near the water’s surface, and a family of swans gliding by. It was our first visit, but certainly not our last.
It was my first time to The View, and I was pleasantly surprised they had a DJ. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside. Food was great!
