I took my marketing team of 5 to View t0 celebrate them and their hard work. The room is lovely with ample views of the Great South Bay all around. Everyone loved their food... especially the lobster pasta, chilled littlenecks and crab cakes. The service was attentive but not obsequious. Drinks were GREAT (my martini was perfect and I'm a fussbudget). When I got the bill I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't $100 more than it was. All in all, a great experience. Try to go at sunset. Stunning.
Would have liked better service. Staff need to learn to ask if patrons want drink refills. Outside could have been a little cleaner. In fairness there was a breeze so things flew around but someone could have made a more conscious effort to sweep the floor.
We went Father’s Day so the service and food may have been off a bit but were underwhelmed by food and service. Seafood restaurant should know how to cook salmon. Portions are small and food just ok. Service was stretched that day. View is great hence the name.
We were celebrating Father’s Day and my son’s birthday. The food and service were excellent and the View of the Great South Bay wa breathing.
My wife and I were married here 18 years ago. We come back annually to celebrate the day. It is beautiful, on the water with great ambience. Be prepared to have a wonderful meal. It is pricy but worth the money
I took my wife, kids, parents and in-laws here for my wife’s birthday this past Friday night. We wanted to be somewhere with a beautiful view, which we certainly got here. The food is mostly very good. Our experience up until around 8:30pm was amazing. Around 8:30pm, this very nice dinner experience turned into a nightclub of drunken messes of people dancing, yelling and stumbling all over. It took a lot away from our experience. Other than this, we were very happy with the food and the view of the water was gorgeous. Also, they made everyone pay a $10 valet parking fee, but if you ate dinner and got your ticket signed by the manager, you’d get your $10 back. Well, thankfully I remembered to ask the valet service guy for my $10 back when he brought my car to me, and then I gave him a tip. Unfortunately, my in-laws and my 70 year old father both forgot to ask the valet guys for their $10 back, and because they forgot to ask, the valet guys never gave them their $10 back. Neither one of them realized this until the next day when we all discussed our experience from dinner, and I felt very embarrassed that because I chose this place, they basically lost $10 each that should still be in their pockets. It’s bad enough to pay a $500 bill for a nice dinner that turned into a drunken mess nightclub scene, but on top of that they have shady valet workers who scammed my parents and in-laws out of $10 extra bucks. This is supposed to be a high class restaurant with a fantastic view. I hope the manager realizes how ridiculous his restaurant looked once it turned into a nightclub, and how low class it was to have valet workers basically stealing money after they force you to pay $10 to park. As patrons who paid $500 for dinner, we shouldn’t have to remind the valet workers that our tickets were signed and we should get our money back, they should have integrity and have someone overseeing them to make sure they are doing the right thing and pay everyone back
Staff was friendly and food was great. One of my favorite places!!!
Great waterfront location and view, The staff was very attentive and accommodating, Valet service is a plus, have always had a good meal. Either sitting inside ,outside or by the bar the accommodations are great.
We love View! Have come here may times and ended up getting married there! Management and staff are outstanding, they make you feel special every time ! Food is great!!! The location on the water is amazing, gret views from all locations inside and outside of the restaurant. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend a visit!!
A little pricey. But food and service was excellent.
What a find! You know the service was great when I tipped the bus boy $10! Excellent food and excellent service with beautiful views of the bay! We had the scallops over truffle risotto and it was phenomenal! We will definitely be back again.
I ordered a burger, medium. It was warm on the outside but practically still mooing when I bit into it. I mentioned it to one of the many staff that visited my table but obviously that never made it to our server or anyone else. Will not return.
very fresh fish and sea food very professional service. Just a bit noisy.
very attentive service, beautiful view and terrific menu choices and specials. Food was delicious. Pricey, more for a special night out. Looking forward to going back.
Food was excellent, beautiful views, just a great atmosphere! Would definitely go back
What can I say I have always had the best food and service at the view the staff is a 10 also the wine list is fantastic great selections. thanks again for a great night.
Food was excellent. Was disappointed about the charge for parking.
Food was excellent. Unfortunately we had to eat inside....very windy. Server was ok. Love the lunch menu here. Best oysters I have ever had!
Birthday. Beautiful day on the water. The view is spectacular. Food was delicious
Seafood was a little spicy but that could be that I am not a hugh spice fan. The rest of my party loved there dishes and highly recommend.
Great food but service was slow and the restaurant was not busy. It took forever to get water glasses filled. Wait staff seemed inexperienced.
Loved it , highly recommend
It was unfortunate that we made reservations for 6 PM on the Fri. before Memorial Day during Happy Hour. Parking was not available even though I told them I was handicapped. After 45 min. someone offered a ticket for parking. We had to pay $10, drive to the entrance, where our car was taken for parking. Our yellow parking ticket had to be signed by the manager to receive our $10 back. The bar & outside deck areas were mobbed. The music & talking were loud & the service was slow due to the lack of waitresses in the dining room. There was a long line to the rest rooms. All in all, it was unpleasant for our 61st anniversary occasion.
We brought our friends who were visiting us from Australia so it was a special evening. They were impressed. We had great service from Colleen. The manager came over to see "how everything was ". We told him the food and service was great as always and that our friends were visiting from Australia and we received a surprise ... a glass of dessert wine as a complimentary drink. We love going to the View either with family or with friends. It is always a great experience. We love it there
Came here for a birthday dinner. The staff was great- made me feel very special as the guest of honor. Food was tasty and the drinks were refreshing! They didn’t rush us which allowed for good conversation with good company, which in New York’s fast paced environment can be very hard to find!
WAY TOO NOISEY. NEEDS SOMETHING LIKE HANGING PLANTS TO HELP REDUCE THE NOISE. WOULD GO BACK BUT NOT AGAIN FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION OR A ROMANTIC DINNER BECUASE OF THE NOISE.
As always, the View did not disappoint. It is my favorite go to restaurant. Love the pan seared scallops with lobster risotto and of course the "view".
The service was impeccable , but felt they were overpriced..
It was pretty crowded which according to the staff was not expected. It was a really nice day finally- hence the crowd. The View has a pretty good happy hour. The views on the deck are beautiful.
We ate in the main restaurant which was also busy. My scallops were a little under cooked. My sister-in-law had the seared tuna which was great!
I would recommend the View for its happy hour during the summer months.
I will give the main restaurant another chance considering it is early in the season.
The wait staff was very inexperienced
I had the short rib and my boyfriend had the scallops, both were fantastic. We had the best waitress, Patricia. Perky, happy such a plesant person
They have a great view, but we went and they sat us at the worst table. We asked to move to one closer to the window and they wouldn't move us. There were at least 4-5 available tables for our party of 4 available, yet those were "reserved"? Well we made a reservation as well, so I do not understand nor appreciate that. Also another bad customer service issue we had was when we wanted to order our appetizers and we weren't sure of our dinner choice yet. We were told that the chef prefers that we place the whole order at once. Never heard that before at a restaurant, but it ended up getting our friends really upset and took everyone a long time to finally figure out the order. Really didn't like that as it cost us an extra hour of time and we hungry, wish we could have just had our apps, then order dinner like any normal restaurant allows.
Good food excellent service great location
A little disappointed in where we sat. I asked for window seats and was put by the sushi bar without any view at all. Kale salad was great, chicken dish wa good, and dessert was so so. Cheesecake was a little bland. Lot running back so fast.
We went for our Anniversary which happened to be during LI Restaurant week. Not all tables have "The View" and we were far from it. There was nothing we could do. The place was crowded with large tables who got "The View". I think they shrunk the portions for the LI Restaurant Week, but everything we had, except the cheesecake which was bad, was excellent. The service was very good, but again, I think LI Restaurant Week seemed to dim the enthusiasm of the staff and overall. I think we would go back during the summer for the bar. That looked like it would be a lot of fun.
Food was fantastic, service great,Bar was fun. Jim and his staff were amazing they made us feel welcome. This was my 45th anniversary, can't think of a better place to celebrate. Thanky you Jim
When we were there they had a large party that was inappropriately loud.
Our waitress Shannon was so nice. The food was really good (restaurant week menu) and the dessert was excellent.
