   Some friends, my wife and I got tickets to a concert in Redding. We live in Chico. We wanted a nice dinner with a view of the river before the concert. We had to be at the concert by 7:00pm. We left Chico at 4:00pm and got to View 202 around 5:00. Our reservation was for 5:30 but no problem they had our table ready on the patio. We waited for 30 minutes before our drink and appetizer order was taken and another 30 minutes before they were served. Our waitress took our dinner orders around 6:00pm. We thought we still had time to eat a comfortable dinner. We waited and waited. Our friend ordered another glass of wine, and we waited. After 20 minutes i asked if we could get the glass of wine. Then it came pretty quick. At 6:30 we reminded our waitress that we were running out of time. She said she would check with the kitchen, but never came back. At 6:45 it became clear that we were not going to have time to enjoy $200 worth of dinner. We couldn't find our waitress, so we told a hostess that we needed to cancel our orders. A few minutes later a manager came to our table and apologized explaining the the restaurant's Order System went down and they lost 1/2 of the orders. She gave us some gift certificates and comped the drinks and salad that we already had. The waitress did write down our order when she took it, so, they should still have had the handwritten order. If not, it seems that they just needed to come to our table and take it again. We left for our concert with no dinner. We understand that things happen, and things go wrong, but this was handled very poorly. Also, the gift certificates expire in 30 days so, I doubt we will be able to give them another try.

   Thank you to those who recommended View 202 restaurant . If you find yourself in Redding treat yourself to a beautiful setting along the Sacramento River and delicious food. We had seared sea scallops with a miso hollandaise sauce over prosciutto topped with trout caviar, tuna tartare, halibut in a lemon parmesan sauce and saffron risotto. All excellent!

   First time for us. It was our anniversary and we wanted something special special and off the script. Food was delicious, staff was super professional, courteous, and respectful. And the music was a great touch considering I am saxophone player myself. 10/10 would recommend to friends and family.

   Terrible place wouldn’t recommend. Took them 40 minutes to bring out my steak and it was overcooked. They made me a new one and overcooked it again. I ended up paying for my wine and walking out of there. Service was horrible

   Excellent server and staff! Wonderful ambiance and setting made for a special evening. Food presentation excellent! So glad we have this in Redding, a true gem in the community!

   The food was great and service was sparkling! The ONLY thing I can say was the restrooms needed attention but that was a small dent in a lovely evening!

    I ordered a drink and it took 30 minutes to come out, 5 minutes before my meal. It was a lovely atmosphere outside overlooking the river and I would have enjoyed the wait for my meal if I had my beverage. The food was delicious. Dissappointed in this higher scale restraunt.
