Quick Anniversary trip to Savannah from Atlanta. Adam was a great host and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Crawfish Beignets and the seafood Melanage were great!
Service was excellent and the food was outstanding, would definitely come back when in town again.
We were recommended to Vic’s on the river by various websites for a good restaurant in Savannah. We were very displeased with the food. This was our first meal in Savannah and were expecting quality in the upscale restaurant. The food came out cold and some of our meals were inedible. My 18 year old son, who eats anything, ordered the meatloaf and he ate one bite and hated it. Our waiter was extremely short with us. Never asked us how the food was or if there was anything we needed. I wouldn’t recommend going there.
We loved our window seat and appreciated that our request for a river view was honored. Service was slower, but the restaurant was incredibly crowded. The restaurant did not limit patrons for social distancing at all. The live piano overpowered the room, to the extent that we felt like we had to yell at each other while sitting next to one another. The beef carpaccio was the star of our meal and the Vic’s label wine was very good. We did not receive our wine until we were half way through our appetizer and reminded the server. The salad was way over dressed and tasted like ranch salad soup. The filet wasn’t great, but the pork chop and Mac and cheese was delicious. We enjoyed the small honey biscuits. The fresh rose on the table was a nice touch. Overall we would return, but perhaps on a slower, quieter night. I’d say it was acceptable but did not top our experience at the Olde Pink House in Savannah
Food was excellent. Our server was phenomenal and provided perfect recommendations.
Great place to spend our anniversary dinner. We both loved the food and, even as a vegetarian, I left very full. Our service was great and I loved the historic building itself. I would love to go back!
You simply can't ever go wrong with dining at Vic's. Ask for a table by the river so you can see if the ships go by. The ambiance is charming, the food is always delicious, the service is attentive. It is one of my most favorite restaurants in Savannah.
The only downside to this particular evening was that it was a friend's 80th birthday and, unlike every other restuarant we went to over the weekend, they did nothing to make it special here.
The food is solid, but the service was poor for lunch. It took 1.5 hours to get in and out for lunch due to our disappearing waiter and/or inept kitchen staff. Things were forgotten (my drink), things were promised but never materialized (bread), and things were served at odd points. Another table was so upset that they barked at the manager for a good 5 minutes.
The food was delicious! We had the freshest oysters to date and the grouper was mouth watering. Definitely will be coming back!
Great food, nice atmosphere, excellent service. Piano player at bar was a pleasant & welcome surprise.
Excellent fine dining with plenty of options! The staff is very friendly.
Had a lovely time dining solo for my birthday here! My server was excellent and just the right amount of attentive. I had the Pemaquid oysters which were outstanding. The scallop dish was great, too, but I was hoping for a bit more acidity and salt contrast. But all together, it was a great experience!
Lovely dinner ! Best part was the delicious chocolate martini we ordered for dessert !
The view was really pretty but the service is why I gave a mediocre overall rating. The server was not attentive, didn’t space out the meal, and when our entrees came after just trying to finish our salads that had way too much dressing, the fish was over cooked and lukewarm like it had been sitting. I think if the service was better, it wouldn’t have highlighted that the food was just so so, but overall, not my favorite spot in Savannah. Kind of a disappointment.
Food was excellent. The scallop risotto was tepid, warm at best. Wished it was hot. Would recommend highly though.
Dinner with my boss and family. Wonderful service again this visit. Spicy shrimp and fried green tomatoes to start were great. She-crab soup by my folks and a side Caesar salad by my boss. All excellent. Wife got the ribeye special. She said it was amazing. My boss & I got filets and both were cooked to perfection. One well done for him and medium for me. Again, spot on. My son got the fried shrimp and said it was great. Peach trio for dessert and if you ask nicely. They will get you brownie from the coffee bar downstairs and you pick your ice cream. Now that was AWESOME. This one of our favorite Savannah spots. Great atmosphere and service.
Was a great experience and excellent service
Mike was a great server!! Great dinner
Beautiful decor , old southern decor. The ambiance and food were fabulous. Service was great. It was a wonderful dining experience.
Dinner with visiting family. Excellent food, great service. Large Sunday night crowd but good social distancing with tables. Vic’s never disappoints!
The restaurant let a family with two kids, scream, yell, throw ice and silverware. The couple was loud talking very loud not normal.
My total experience was destroyed by this couple and their kids. I just don’t expect to spend $200 + for the wife and I on our 50th wedding anniversary to deal with rude. The restaurant did nothing.
Vic's on the River is a quaint little restaurant with history of the building and Savannah displayed at various places throughout the restaurant. Our meal was fantastic, and the dessert, we ordered the Peach Trio, is a MUST! You will not be disappointed. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Spent one night in Savannah while driving to Florida. Vic’s was recommended to us by my daughter. We so enjoyed our dinner. Ambiance was very nice - even a live piano player! Our meal was excellent and our server was very knowledgeable and professional. We stayed at the Homewood Suites on the river and Vic’s was a pleasant 1/4 mike walk along the river. I highly recommend.
Excellent experience , service was attentive, food was delicious and beautifully plated, ambiance was perfect for a late Sunday lunch. Very much recommended for a day trip to Savannah
Daniel! You MUST ask for Daniel as your server. He had so much knowledge about not only the menu but also the building itself. Honestly - I was pleased with the food but Daniel went the extra mile to make a 3 star experience much closer to 5.
Local favorite whenever we are in Savannah.
Very very friendly staff across the board! Great location with a nice river view and the food was even better! We had the scallops and the pecan crusted flounder which were both amazing! Try the crab and/or french onion soups for starters!
Celebrating our anniversary with Vic’s always makes it memorable. The appetizers and entrees were delicious.
We love visiting Vic’s on the river! The view over River Street is lovely and they are well organized and professional. You can always count on a top notch Bloody Mary. The food is pretty delicious and the menu offers a variety of options that would satisfy anyone. The service was pretty slow the last visit, and our biscuits while delicious were cold and seemed to have been sitting quite a while. They were busy in all fairness. The piano music added a nice ambiance. Overall, I would always recommend stopping into Vic’s for lunch, dinner or a snack and cocktail. Best Bloody Mary’s in Savannah for sure!!
The food and service was excellent. I highly recommend
Vic's was recommended to us by a friend. Excellent recommendation! The food was amazing and the service was very attentive, without being too solicitous. Vic's will definitely be on our "must list" when we are again in Savannah!
This is my second attempt to love Vics. It has great reviews -- I should love it right? Not Both times I have received my food at a temperature that is slightly above room temp. The first time they were packed so I forgave the cold food and my husbands wrong order. Tried again....covid spacing so relatively empty. My husband ordered his usual meatloaf which this time gave him horrible indigestion and I got the special of grouper. I love grouper. This one proved to be relatively bland in taste and temp. I will say the fried green tomatoes were among the best Ive ever had. The onion rings average. All in all it will not be on my must dine list for Savannah.
We love this restaurant.
Great location, beautiful view, wives meal way under cooked, I ordered steak and potatoes and broccoli, steak was ok potatoes were barley warm and potatoes were barley warm
Great food, great service
A perfect evening with my husband!
Everything was delicious. I have zero complaints..
Beautiful restaurant! Loved the fried green tomatoes. Will definitely return. Ideal for special occasions.
Scallops a little salty and a bit overpriced four scallops for $28 at lunch. Filet mug on a little salty as well. French onion soup and tomato soup were great
Food was delicious. Server was slow and forgot things twice we had the one item he forgot taken off our bill. But he was quite nice.
