    It was my first time here with my brother and his fiancée. The food was great, delicious and the salsas were amazing as well. The view was AMAZING. The best. The staff were very attentive and our waiter was exceptional. Overall I would definitely recommend coming here if you haven't already.

    We enjoyed a reunion with old friends. We had a reservation and arrived early. We asked to go to our table to enjoy the sunset. Monica, the receptionist, told us she would not seat us early although the restaurant was half full and to wait at the bar. We asked again and she finally relented, taking us to a table with a poor view. We flagged down a server and asked to be moved and she checked with the palace guard and we were allowed to move. Jen, the server, was lovely. Our friends arrived shortly after we were seated and she offered to take our photo even without asking. From then on we had an very enjoyable evening with a gorgeous sunset view, good food, and excellent and attentive service from Jen.

    We enjoyed eating dinner at Ventana Grill. The food was delicious. The service was excellent and the ambiance was great. We had a window seat which was amazing because we had a beautiful sunset. We will definitely eat there again.

    The Ventana Grill is one of our favorites and, again, dining there didn't disappoint! Everything was wonderful - perfect seating in a corner booth, delicious and plentiful food and a gorgeous sunset, too. The service was impeccable. We'll be back, of course!

    Love this restaurant! The view of the ocean is beautiful and the food tastes great! Server was very friendly and attentive. Great place for a romantic dinner, especially if you get there in time for sunset

    The service star is a 3 because the hostess was a 1 but it waitress was a 5. Made reservations for dinner for 2 at 4:30. It was my husbands birthday and when making reservations I asked for a window table with an ocean view. We wanted to see the sunset. The big room with windows all around it was only maybe 20% full. The hostess took us to a completely empty spot on the far side with a view of the cliff filled with pelican droppings. Since I made a specific request I asked if we could sit in the big room at a table with a better view. Most tables were vacant. She became very annoyed and rudely sat us in that room in a booth where one of us could have a good view. There were many tables open where both of us would have had a view. We wound up sitting next to each other to watch the sunset. Fortunately we had a very nice waitress and good service. When we left there were still many of the great view tables open. If the hostess doesn’t like her job or the customers she should not be at the front desk. People go to that restaurant for the views. Very disappointing - except for the nice waitress.

    It has been a long time since we had dinner at Ventana. I was disappointed in the food and the selection of food. The menu is mostly Mexican dishes. I had the halibut that was supposed to be crusted but no crust. The vegetable medley was good but the fish was overcooked and tasteless. I ordered a glass of wine which came when I was finishing my meal. The view and the server were very good. With as many restaurants that Compass Health owns this should be their premium location with food and wine. I had to ask twice to see a wine list.

    Made reservation online said I could request outside! I did! We have never been there before! Checked in before 5 told no outside seating so my reservation was really useless! Asked for one of 4 available window tables, told no! Two stayed empty entire time we were there! Mattie our waitress was good, hostess rude! Will not go back or recommend!

    We were on vacation in Pismo Beach CA. We tried the Ventana Grill and enjoyed the food and the experience so much that we went back a second time! Very good food, service and location!!

    I travel all over the country and have plenty of experience with restaurants that have great reviews and often find that the reviews were not accurate at all. That being said I have to say that this was one of the best dining experiences of all time…..great atmosphere, great food, great drinks, great plating, and great staff. All in all 5 stars across the board from start to finish. Whoever is in charge over there definitely knows what they are doing. We absolutely recommend this place when you visit Pismo Beach. Dale

    It is not what it used to be. Crab legs were not good. Most restaurants have peeled shrimp, not what was available. We have never liked your smoked salmon very dry and poor seasoning.

    This restaurant is situated in a beautiful spot with views of the ocean from virtually every table. The ambiance in the restaurant is lovely. The food was delicious and presented beautifully on the plate. Our server was terrific and very attentive to ensure we had a wonderful dinner and dining experience.

    The location, the view of the ocean, easy free parking !!! We went for brunch and it was awesome ! Bottomless mimosas! Food was great and a lot to chose from. I really recommend brunches. We will be back for dinner next time .

    This place is all about the view at sunset. The food was okay but way overpriced for what it was. Service was poor in spite of the restaurant being somewhat empty. I ordered a cocktail. Soon thereafter I ordered a starter (a cup of soup) and a main (fish). The starter and the main were delivered at together and my cocktail showed up later. Skip it. Maybe go for drink at sunset.

    Our lunchtime meal was great in every way except one meal… mine. I order Pacific Nachos appetizer and it was so disappointing because I’ve eaten here for years and never had a bad meal. There were to many fried wontons and tuna was basically ground up and strewn about with some seaweed and bit of pineapple. All over dressed that became soggy. Also the pickled ginger was everywhere. I picked through it and ended up with a pile of soggy wontons, pickled ginger and salad dressing. So sad. Should be taken off the menu. Service and view were outstanding.

    Great food, but no so great service. I normally don’t do this but it was my anniversary and I expected it to be at least what we paid for and reserved. We scheduled our reservation a few days in advanced and requested “window seat” upon arrival they checked us in and gave us a totally different seat than what we requested, when we asked if we could switch to an empty table that was window seat and ocean view (what we were expecting) they wouldn’t budge and were pretty rude about it, Yahaira said that the reason we got that table was because we scheduled 30 min before we arrived which was not true, after she reviewed her tablet she said that we did actually schedule a few days before, but if we wanted window seat we would have to wait until a table would open up even though there was a few open. Our waiter was good, front desk (two gals which seemed to be the ones in charged) not so customer friendly.

    On the prettiest day I have seen in Pismo in years, I went to lunch with a friend and were seated in a corner window booth that I had requested for our lunch. The view was magnificent, and my pal was enthralled with the close-flying pelicans that were strutting their stuff. I always have the same thing - an "El Jefe" margarita that this time had a dried/desiccated jalapeno garnish that was rather fun. I also usually order the steamed clams, which are way more than clams with teeny-tiny mushrooms, chopped poblanos, and a tasty tomato-based sauce. Yum-o as always, but with a small overabundance of the mushrooms. My friend was equally pleased with her "lunch special" which was three smallish "birria" tacos filled with other yummy stuff and an interesting salsa. We were hoping to see whales as the sea was so calm, and our great waiter, Sergio, told us that they had sighted some 3-day earlier. So - bottom line: fun cocktails, tasty food and a million-dollar view, we were happy lunchers!

    Best Mahi Mahi with Prawns on top with a Tequila Lime Sauce. One of the best fish meals I have ever had. Definitely and top notch restaurant. Our server was fantastic and engaged in light conversation and friendliness from the beginning to the end of our meal.

    We have enjoyed sharing time and watching the action in the water and overhead as Whales where in the area and the Pelicans soaring above the area then diving into the ocean. Fabulous experience. Staff is great. Food was fine.

    We went for our wedding anniversary, which the restaurant ended with a lovely, complimentary dessert & candles. The food is excellent, the view stellar, and the service impeccable. You NEED a reservation, if you want a front row table view of the Pacific.
