Venice Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Our time at Venice Rewtaurant was very disappointing. Our entrees were very mediocre to the point that none of finished our meals or took them home. The table next to us was so loud that we had to leave because we could not continue our conversation. We will not return.
We love Venice....Had a 6:00 P.M. reservation, (too early but only reservation available) was greeted by Chef/Owner very friendly, (handsome as well), great way to start the evening. Had a drink at the bar before seating. Awesome Cosmo, (not too sweet-extra cold) and a Moretti.
I believe our waiter was Steve, he has waited on us many times, always funny, efficient and extraordinary.
Started with Calamari, (would pass next time), loved the mushroom ravioli with sausage, (loved the mushroom ravioli before), so it was a hard sell but I'd order again. The Veal with articokes was a total highlight. WAY too full for dessert and the place was jammed so gave up our table. We will definitely be back - as always!
The restaurant was packed and no room for people to wait at the front. Despite they were told it was our Anniversary, we were put at a small table that wouldn't even hold the drinks, appetizer and bread without removing plates and having the drinks line the wall. It was in the back of the room and no mention was made of our special occasion. Many restaurants are going out of their way to make these dates special and it makes the difference!
Extremely loud restaurant, with tables crowded close together. Forget romantic conversation or hearing the person across the table for that matter.
Very crowded and no place to stand or sit while waiting to be seated. And speaking of waiting, be prepared to wait, even if you have a reservation. My reservation was at 7:15 yet I was seated at about 7:40. And this was for a table for four, not for a large, difficult-to-seat group.
The menu had a large variety of Italian dishes and the food was attractively presented. I had the chicken Marsala, which was rich, tasty, and with plenty of mushrooms. The service was quite good, even though the restaurant was very busy. The prices are reasonable for the venue.
But the overall experience was ruined by the noise and the crowding. I literally had to lip-read my fellow diners at the table.
We have dined at the Venice several times and this time was the worst in regards to customer service. To begin the evening the hostess was not hostable at all. She showed to our table brought the menus and did not say a word. The waiter barely greeted us didn't explain anything about the menu and after we ordered he briefly stopped by the table to inquire how we were enjoying our meal. On previous visit to the restaurant we were greeted warmly when we arrived and the waiters were very engaging before, during and after our meal.
The food was good as always, but this visit the service was not up to par.
The food was outstanding. However the table we had was slanted, we were sat right by the kitchen so we constantly had to move or be bumped by the servers. The noise level overall was way too loud and made it hard to hear people at our own table. There was another available table just around the corner that sat empty the entire time we were there that would have been much quieter but was not offered to us. We were only given 2 menu's for our table of six.
Have always loved Venice Ristorante... but this time around 2 of the ravioli dishes had changed.. which is fine.. but not near as good as the old version(ie Butternut Squash in sage butter was old version). Pasta seemed very thick /doughy and chewy.. not delicate at all... Caesar salad was very good tho. Service was excellent! Ambience so nice...
Our reservation specified it was a birthday celebration. There is almost no room, and staff was hurrying past as we stood waiting to be seated. Despite having a 7:15 pm reservation, we waited. Then we were lead back to a tiny table in a high traffic area and offered the option of a larger table next to the kitchen/bathroom doorway. We opted for the larger table as we would not have had enough room at the tiny table. The busser came to our table right away but we waited a LONG time for a server to show up. They have an electronic beverage tablet but it doesn't communicate to the staff, so it was useless. We made a wine selection then waited some more. We had to ask twice for menus. It was 8:30 before our entrees arrived, and they were only fair. Only at the very end of our meal did anyone inquire about how things were. We had to ask about dessert. Only then did a floor manager (not sure as he didn't introduce himself but he was wearing a jacket) offer us a complimentary dessert, but it seemed that this was due to our waiting so long for everything rather than to acknowledge the birthday. We were there nearly 2 hours but most of it was spent waiting. For the price, the food was unexceptional. We will not be back.
We heard that this was a very good restaurant. Unfortunately we booked a table for 6:45pm on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. Great to see. Obviously many loyal patrons. We wished we would have selected another day, when the crowd might have been less - so we could have enjoyed the restaurant and the food more. My wife had been there just a week before with a group of friends - during the week - and had a chicken dish that she just loved - tasty, moist, flavorful. She recommended that I try it, and I did. Although we ordered the same dish, it was a totally different presentation, it was dry and lacked favor. My wife almost couldn't even recognize it as the same dish. The noise level during dinner was disruptive and took away from the experience of the meal and reconnecting with friends. There was also some confusion with our table (we were seated roughly 30 to 35 minutes after our reservation, even though we arrive 20 minutes before our reservation time). We take some of the responsibility for the mis-communication that occurred regarding the table. We're sure that this is a very nice restaurant. We just didn't have the opportunity to experience it that evening.
The food was wonderful, and Chris, our waiter, was attentive without being obtrusive. My husband's salmon was a bit more rare than he likes and it would have been nice if he'd been asked how he likes it done. He said it was delicious despite this, and he finished it all without complaint. I loved everything and can't wait to go back. The eggplant parmesan is one of my all-time favorites.
For my wife & I's date night this week, we had heard about this restaurant, and based on the website it looked fine...a romantic restaurant offering a taste of Venice. Well, forget the romance!!! The noise level is beyond description, at times not able to converse at the table. Oh, and the tables?? They certainly do not like parties of two because they the two-top is barely able to hold the glassware and two small plates. It was a miracle that we did not spill any of our drinks will attempting to negotiate our meal. And the tables are packed into the place. It appears they are attempting to see how many they can seat in a small area. Servers did not have room to move from table to table, nor do the customers. Leaving the restaurant was like going through an obstacle course, trying to get around the tables and people. The food was okay...I ordered the Chicken Florentine and it is the first time I have ever been served this dish without any spinach anywhere near the plate. I asked twice if they had delivered the correct one to the table, and they assured me the order was correct and the spinach was inside. No, the spinach never made an appearance...inside, outside, under, or over...simply the wrong the dish, or they do not know what they are doing. The extensive wine list is on an electronic notepad, however, they did not have the wine we ordered. Usually when using electronic system, the inventory is automatically updated so bottles not available are not listed. Must not have the updated software. The server did suggest another wine, and it was good, but not what we ordered. The best thing about the evening was the server. He was pleasant and attentive. My problem was our date night turned into time spent with way too many people in too small of a space, at a level of noise that killed all conversation. I would not recommend the restaurant unless you want to go out with the gang.
The restaurant was very noisy and very busy when we arrived. Because it was so crowded, it took an unusual amount of time for our entrees to be served. I thought the entrees were overpriced(although very delicious) and the server could have been more attentive.
Having just returned from Italy I was craving a good Italian pasta dish. Let down. Unfortunately the food here is just not good. I had the lasagna bolognese and I couldn’t even finish it. Wait staff was friendly so no complaints on that front. But unfortunately if youve had true Italian pasta this isn’t going to cut it for you.
Great! Stopped on way home from centennial...had PEI mussels for appetizer - wanted to drink the sauce. Not shy on the garlic! Then linguine clams for wife, chicken saltimbocca for me and good old spaghetti and meatballs for my brother in law. More garlic! Lots! Loved it. Best Italian meal we’ve had since we were on east coast!
Unfortunately because of long drive, didn’t have any wine. And no dessert. Next time....
Prices very reasonable for quality too.
We went to Venice Ristorante for our anniversary after searching online for a nice restaurant. We absolutely loved it. I felt like I was eating in Italy. The staff and management were wonderful. The food was authentic and delicious and the coffee was the best I’ve had since our trip to Europe. We will be back!
