The calamari was chewy, indicating it was overcooked. The coating was good and the dish could have been excellent if prepared well.
We enjoyed music which started ~6:30.
Vaso Azzurro did a good job of serving our party of 8, and the owner(?) stopped by a few times to see how we were doing and to pitch their Apple Streudel and Tiramisu desserts (which were delicious).
This visit I tried the gnocchi in pesto sauce. The gnocchi were tender and flavorful and the sauce creamy and basil. My wife had the seafood pasta which was also excellent. The food is amongbthe best Italian in the area and the service attentive. Great place, highly recommended.
We enjoyed our date and we will return.
It was my mum’s birthday and the staff treated her like a princess. I cannot thank them enough!
My friend and I both ordered the crab on Panini with French fries. Food was delicious and wait staff attentive.
The food was outstanding as was the service and staff.
We had dinner with friends at Vaso Azzurro and had a great time there. The food was good. Most of our group had pasta and I had the Halibut which was a bit overcooked and dry for my taste but those with pasta were very happy. We also had starters which everyone enjoyed. We even had nice Live jazz music and were entertained by a wonderful song by the restaurant owner (or manager ) who by the way , also led the restaurant in a song of happy birthday as he brought a dessert to me! In all it was a great evening at a fun , pleasant restaurant with good food.
My mom could barely eat her veal scallopini because the piece was not tender. My scallops and prawns risotto had good flavor, but I question whether that was truly risotto or some other kind of rice (usually risotto is creamy).
I have eaten several times at Parkside and have loved it, so was disappointed in this meal.
Party of six and we all ordered different items, from veal to salmon to grouper. All were well prepared and presented, and all were delicious.
As always, our dinners were delicious. Service was excellent and by coming at 5 on Sunday, we were able to enjoy our dinner and wine without hurrying to the theater.
I love this place. Gives you a family-owned feel with a family of folks who seem to love what they do and love sharing it with others. There isn't one thing we've had that we didn't love.
The restaurant is way too loud, and adding music right next to our table was over the top.
What a delicious meal! The scallops and shrimp with risotto was fabulous. Everyone at the table was very happy with their meal. The service is good, quick and attentive. The owner was going around the tables and greeting everyone- what a delightful lady! Made us even happier with our visit! It ‘s awfully loud once the tables fill but I quess that the price you pay for a popular restaurant! We will definitely be back!
The food is amazing and the dessert is even better. If you’re short on time, skip dinner and go for the Tiramisu. It is amongst the very best you will ever have. Craig & Deb
Service may have been a little slow, but everything else was well executed and with a very homey atmosphere.
Was extremely loud in the restaurant. Had to yell to converse. Food was delicious, but I would expect more seafood in my pasta dish. Only got 1 small scallop and 2 small shrimp.
Very nice and warm atmosphere with great live music! Our favorite hangout place down town Mountain View.
I have recommended this restaurant to many friends. It is a real gem on Castro Street in Mountain View. We love everything about this restaurant!
Mark is the ultimate host. We always have a great time with great food. It's definitely a favorite for any occasion.
Vaso Azzurro is among my favorite restaurants. While it's a bit noisy on a busy evening, the noise is from happy diners, musicians playing and folks singing more so than clanking dishes and train whistles. I'd describe it as friendly, energetic and lively. The food is prepared to order and my compliments always goes to the chef and hard working staff who consistently provides excellent service.
We had an "end of the semester" celebration and the food was fantastic as always. The staff treated us with the same friendliness as always and the service was great.
The Vaso Family treated us like their favorite customers. Food was delicious, serenading was delightful, not too intrusive, but very festive. An overall wonderful experience. Can’t wait to return. Next time I’m ordering either the eggplant parm or scallops. Loved my selection of prawns and polenta. Yummy!
Went for friend’s birthday. It was great!
open face crab panini had too much mayonnaise and bread was tough and burnt.
The food was great and the staff was very friendly. Our server was attentive and met our every need We enjoyed the hosts fine singing voice and would definitely consider having birthdays there.
Really enjoyed our meal at Vaso Azzurro. It’s he epitome of a traditional Italian restaurant that has that warm, family feel. Yes it is a little noisy but that can be expected from Italian places. The food was delicious and authentic. We went on a Friday night and there was live music and even one of the employees was singing on the microphone. All the workers were so friendly and charming. Can’t wait to come back.
We chose Vaso Azzurro as it had vegetarian and particular vegan menu. The serve the bread with olive oil mixed with herbs. Bread was eggless, soft and good. We orderd bruschetta, penne pasta with marinara sauce, pasta sauce is good. We later ordered alfredo sauce penne pasta without eggs. My wife liked that pasta very much. I would come again over here next time.
Always a good experience with great service and good food. Love the entertainment. If you haven't experienced it, it's a must try!
Excellent food and excellent customer service. we really liked the singing of the happy birthday songs.
We had 3 different desserts and each one was so delicious.
Highly recommend you guys :)
It was my son’s birthday and as the restaurant was closing soon, the entire staff and both singers and other customers sang happy birthday for my son. It was a very Special memory.. I highly recommend Vaso Azzurro .. lovely people! 😊
The food was wonderful but it took a good 45 minutes to get our food and there were only a handful of other customers. We were a table of 6 so not quite sure why it took so long. Other than that this is one of my favorite Italian restaurants.
Fun venue with very warm and attentive service. Food very good. Sound level is very loud. Excellent live music!
The service was perfect and we enjoyed our meals very much. Since I'm plant-based, I was very happy that they have vegan and vegetarian menus in addition to the regular menu. It's a wonderful location, too, with Parking Lot 1 (a city garage) across the alley behind the restaurant; there's a back entrance you can take so you don't have to walk around. I let the waiter know that we had a show afterward, and we were attended to accordingly. We enjoyed the atmosphere and everything about the experience and will definitely return.
Our dinner at Vaso Azzurro was out-standing. When we were seated, the waiter was otherwise occupied so the manager told us about the evening's specials, with great enthusiasm! Although we chose items off the regular menu, he remained engaged. We ordered the small house salad which came pre-divided for us, and was still huge! My husband ordered the lasagna, which he said was good. It came with sauteed vegetables, which I don't recall ever seeing as a side to lasagna, but that was fine as they went home in my to-go box. I ordered the Scallops and Prawns with Risotto, which was amazing; three really large perfectly cooked scallops, three perfectly cooked prawns, and a huge mound of delicious risotto with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach. The manager was delighted with my choice, and with our choice of wine :-) Since it was my husband's birthday, he was offered a complimentary dessert of his choice (he chose the apple strudel with vanilla ice cream, which was delicious) which was served with a rousing round of Happy Birthday! sung by the entire wait staff; great fun! A delightful time from start to finish!
Great menu, excellent choices. New dish, scallops and shrimp with risotto was outstanding. Very good carpaccio and creme brûlée.
Good food at a reasonable price.
The waitress was wonderful and the food was fine. Our only issue was the noise level - it made the experience somewhat uncomfortable. I could only hear the people sitting next to me if they raised their voices. This wasn’t even a day when they had live music; it’s just a problem with the acoustics.
I would recommend but advise that every time I have had dinner there the noise level is almost intolerable. Difficult to communicate with people I came with. This would be a major deterrent!
So I would advise of this before wholeheartedly recommending.
Food is delicious. Always a welcoming and fun environment.
