Tony Vallone's Americana-inspired menu features some of his favorite dishes from the American culinary tradition, from French Onion Soup and the "Tex" — two cheese enchiladas served with a center-cut filet — to Baked Alaska and housemade Cotton Candy (even the vanilla wafers for his banana pudding are baked in-house).
Of course, Tony's signature pastas and the 55-day-aged steaks are also stars of the show in his cozy, fireplace-lit dining room.
Dinner: Sunday 5:00pm-9:00pm, Monday - Thursday: 3:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday 3:00pm -11:00pm, Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Ate a good dinner on their last night before closing down .
The service was excellent but we expected the food to be much better; for what we paid there are better options like Capital Grill.
Brunch Menu not too different than dinner/lunch menu.
Valet Parking Guys were not available at 11am
Stuffed Banana French Toast Excellent
Eggs Benedict Plate had no presentation: There were no hash browns, no side of avocado, no sliced tomato, no sliced orange or parsley for garnish
Servers did not rush us, it was a nice casual brunch with friends
We were seated on time drinks and appetizer were served promptly but it took 90 minutes to get our main course while tables around us were served faster even though they arrived later. The Waiter was apologetic and brought us a free appetizer which we didn’t really want Nor could my son eat due to his gluten allergies. The manager came to the table and offered us free dessert which we excepted but by then we had been there for almost four hours and were ready to go home For the prices that they charge at balloons we expected a much better experience.
Everything was great as usual, except it took WAY too long for our entres to arrive. They were kind to bring a complimentary appetizer, after our salads, when it was obvious that either they had lost our order or were way behind in the kitchen. That is the first time in many visits that this has happened, and it won't keep us from returning.
Had a great time. Took great care of us on our anniversary dinner.
Excellent steaks (we had bone in filets and ribeyes), cooked to perfection! Sides whipped potatoes (creamiest ever), Brussels sprouts (yum), and delicious mushrooms! Dessert was bananas foster, our favorite!
We go early for dinner (5:30) because Vallones is quiet enough for conversation, which was ideal as we had family from out of state! Vallones is very comfortable and the ambience is quiet elegance! We enjoy the artwork!
Service is excellent! Attentive, hospitable and knowledgeable! The manager always stops by!
Vallones is a great place to celebrate a special occasion!
Perfect evening ! Will definitely return the next time we’re in Houston.
I love this place.
We love Vallone’s and try to get there as often as possible! Food is delicious and service wonderful!! Highly recommend
We sat in the bar and had drinks and dinner and bottle of red wine ..My son , daughter and I had the filet .It was the best we’ve had in ages Better than the Palm..
My husband had the red snapper and just loved it ..
We had tableside Caesar salad which was great and we loved our appetizers. We’re going back this weekend.
I've been many times and enjoyed it. However the concept of Father's day brunch was a rip off. The menu was narrow and they nickeled and dimed us on sides and appetizers. It was very low value and unsatisfactory. I had the fried flounder band it tasted like a frozen fish stick. Vallones went from being 5 star to one star on my book
My husband and I had a wonderful evening. Our waiter Bryan was excellent and our dinner was divine. We had some special requests which they were incredibly accommodating about. We would definitely recommend dining at Vallone’s and are planning to come back with friends.
Today was the first time I have not enjoyed the food. How can a salad have no taste?
We were celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary and couldn’t have selected a better place! The relaxed ambience, excellent food, and service was perfect. We will definitely be back.
I surprised my husband with dinner at Vallone’s for his birthday. We were both so pleased with our experience. Our server was awesome. The food was AMAZING. And the bananas foster for dessert was a wonderfully tasty experience. Even my vodka martini was the best I had ever had. This restaurant is pricey. But it was so worth it. And my husband felt so special.
The food and the service were amazing! I would recommend for dinner anytime!
As usual, staff was excellent. Always accommodating and kind.
Our waitress was great celebrating our anniversary.
Bar area dining and the piano player were great. Started with a martini and they were out of Bombay Saphire Gin. Ordered a $22.00 Lump Crab appetizer which came our in a bowl on a plain white plate. The onion soup was greasy and almost black in color, sent it back. The $59.00 dry age NY Strip ordered medium rare came out way to the rare side, did not want them to over cook it, so ate as is. My wife ordered the Simple Red Snapper and it was swimming in olive oil. The wine list is nice and we had good wine. Dining experience will keep me from going back for quite a while.
Fantastic as always
We've been coming here for several years. At least once every two months...so not known there, but we normally sit at the bar and enjoy an amazing dinner and a glass of wine or cocktail. Never ever had an issues till this past month....everybody has an 'off day' or two...I am so hoping its just these last couple of times and it won't be an issue. We were at their Mother's Day Brunch...they had an amazing selection on their menu. But oh, the service was so off (and yes, they get an out for this, the place was packed), and I ordered a fish dish (a dish which I have ordered on previous occasions)...and it was probably one of worst pieces of fish I have ever had. Not just there, but ever. Okay...chalk it up to being busy, everyone has an off day, etc..etc..
Then came this past weekend. Ended up with just four of us for dinner in the dining room and a quieter weekend due to it being a holiday. Had the tuna tacos (small but wonderful!!) and salad (which were fantastic as usual!!) Two of us had one of the special offerings - soft shell crab. Others had Sea Bass and 'The Tex'. The Sea Bass was perfect. The steak on the tex was cold, I mean cold. It had been cooked, but then most likely sat on a 'non working warming area' or some place else while the other items were being cooked, a bit disappointed on what is a staple there. The soft shell crab wasn't just pan fried or 'fried'...it was DEEP fried. Something I didn't expect at all, and I acknowledge it was my fault for not clarifying. But so over cooked and deeply battered that the only taste was the deep fried batter. Bummed about that...but I take ownership of that little fiasco and my fellow guest and I did not eat more than a few bites.
Great ambiance...will go again in a couple of months because I so want to always enjoy it...but right now, not recommending to anyone for a little while.
Perfect place to celebrate. Food was wonderful, wait staff attentive and atmosphere was refined.
Went for anniversary dinner. Perfect setting for the occasion.
The wait staff was fabulous
Great for business lunch. Get the Chili made from steak trimmings from the night before. It is served table side and is a true all meat chili. Fantastic.
chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes was bland, no taste at all from the sunday menu went on mothers day night and mom wasnt pleased with food. Especially after paying $36 for the plate. The brussel sprouts were too salty. the fish was tasty but when asked for salt and pepper the waiter looked at me like it was unheard of to ask for such. ambiance was excellent on the otherhand and valet parked my car right in front door which was great.
Staff and kitchen were very accommodating. We wanted to switch from table to booth, and that was no problem for them. They made us a couple special things for our daughter, chicken fingers and green beans. Waitress was very nice and pleasant, and very accommodating. Food was very good, but not outstanding. Portions were small, but still satiating. 8-oz filet struck me as being a bit on the small side. I'd be surprised if it was actually 8-oz cooked. Looked more like 6 oz. But it was satisfying. Creamed spinach was interesting, not what I was expecting, and maybe not quite on par presentation-wise with another steakhouse in the area I'm fond of. Tableside salad was cooked and combined by a staff member at the table, so that was neat. Young children get a complimentary cotton candy for dessert. They also made us a new batch of chicken fingers to take home because of a problem while boxing the one we had partially eaten. Additionally, they gave us a whole new piece of lemon pie to take home to replace the partially eaten one.
Absolutely love this restaurant!! The food and staff are always fantastic!!
Consistently excellent from service to food. Steaks cooked to perfection
The food was great and our server was very attentive.
Great food and service. I always enjoy my meal. It does get a bit noisy if the restaurant is busy.
The service was wonderful. Very attentive to our needs. Good recommendations on the wine. The food was outstanding.
We love our dinners at Vallone's! It's always a pleasure and great experience ~ food, service, atmosphere ~ all consistently top notch! And especially nice to have on the west side of town!
Excellent dinner. Everything was wonderful. Steak and sides were outstanding.
Service, as always, was perfect. Very attentive but not overbearing and knowlegeable about menu items.
Food was good and they had some unique items on the menu. Service was good. Only complaint was it was a little noisey for our group of 6 to hear each other and the restaurant was not full. I would go again just a smaller group.
Love this place. Tony knows how to run a restaurant. I have never been to a Tony Vallone establishment that was not excellent.
