What a disappointment. We have been wanting to try Valette for a few years and it didn’t live up to the hype. The service was rushed, unprofessional and haphazard. Some of our guests were still eating their meal and one of the bussers continued to try to take food away and also cleared all of the plates around her. When the appetizers were presented, only two of them were introduced/described and the others just left on the table. The service was clumsy and we expected more overall. We felt unwelcomed and we were very eager to leave. The service charge was included, so clearly they didn’t care about taking of our table.

Very limited menu and wine list. Nothing was appealing. Fish was undercooked. In the middle of the wine country, only 2 Sauv. Blancs for choice, and one was French! Rushed service. Noisy. We dined there previously and all was good, so we returned on this visit to Healdsburg. We will not go back.

Food was very good. Poke and pumpkin soup were great as was the duck and steak. The service was ok - but it felt way too “scripted” and not too personable. It almost seemed they were on auto pilot.

Exquisite service, top tier cuisine, immaculate wine pairing options, and a romantic ambience. I can be a picky eater but I'm glad I opted for a six-course "Chef Valette's 'Trust me' Tasting menu". It was my first time trying octopus, duck, and shallots and they were prepared so that no reasonable person could dislike it. An expensive treat but the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you to the staff who made this evening unforgettable.

The service was wonderful, the food was very good. The tables are close together and noise level is high. Loved our waiter but the the room felt like we were sitting shoulder to shoulder with the other people around us.

The Champagne by the glass was truely excellent. We were less impressed by the Valette Pinot Noir (also by the glass). The ahi poke was absolutely delicious. The combination of black cod with kidney beans was a bit surprising, however, with the help of the chimichurri it worked. Deserts were excellent and so was the service. Very enjoyable overall!

We had dinner on the patio on a rainy night and it was lovely with the flame-style heaters and lighting. The food was fabulous. We had a New York steak and Bone in pork chop. Artfully prepared and served. Our waiter was very attentive and engaging. Definitely coming back soon!

Amazing. Every single time. Our favorite restaurant in California. We drive up from Carmel and stay in Healdsburg mainly so we we can eat here. Everything is amazing. Service, food, ambience, wine. A treat for the senses in every way.

Let’s put it this way. If your friend can see well and doesn’t mind spending a bundle, then yes: I could recommend it. But the room was so dark I had to read menu choices to my wife. Certainly, the food was high quality: duck breast and black skin cod. Whether the fish should have flageolet beans as accompaniment seems questionable.I found the contrast in textures a bit strange. Service for the most part was excellent. Our server explained the dishes and their accompaniments. At the same time, our sever pushed us to order a more expensive wine (over twice the price as ordered) and tried—no urged—us to order a first course, as our entrees would take 35 minutes. They actually arrived in less than 20 minutes. At $42 for the duck and $39 for the cod, we deserved a little better experience.

We were rushed, which made our experience less than ideal. We had a reservation at 8:15 pm and I got a text at 7:52 pm that our table was ready and to “check in now”, fortunately we were only a block away. We ordered our food and wine at the same time, and our appetizers arrived before our beverages… not a good start, but we did get an apology for this - A big no-no, but we could have let it slide, however this was only the beginning. As we were enjoying our appetizers, we were asked 3 times if we were finished, before we finished, and we did finish our food less than 15 minutes after receiving our appetizer course. I actually looked at my watch to see if we were eating really slowly, or if they seemed to be a bit pushy. Our main dishes arrived immediately after they took away the appetizer plates. Then we were pretty much ignored as we ate our main courses. I appreciate attentive service, and I appreciate the option of moving up our reservation because a table was available early, but this did not feel like courtesy or attentive service. This felt like a not so subtle “hurry up and get out so we can go home”. There were still at least 3 tables occupied when we declined dessert and got out. It’s really a shame we had this experience because the food was very good. I felt as if we had no chance to savor our meals and pretty much forgot what appetizer I ordered because I was so distracted by the waitstaff.

We have been coming here since it opened. It was our favorite place in Healdsburg. Last nights food was awful. Perhaps they changed the chef. My wife's soup was cold notwithstanding the server's claim as he poured it "be careful it's hot". I could not eat the salad. Something like a green salad with bits of sauerraut throughout. The Black Cod was virtually tastless. As always the service was impeccable and the cocktails perfect.

Fabulous! We ordered the chef’s “trust me “ tasting and it was amazing! Many places are attempting to serve duck and we’ve had some “not so good “ experiences but by far their duck was hands down the best. Rendered to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and incredibly tender! I highly recommend that you allow yourself to “ trusting” the chef in this gastronomic adventure!

We had 6 people in our party and everyone walked away with an amazing experience. Our server was Alfredo and he made sure everyone was well taken care of. He is passionate about his job and making sure everyone has a great time. Plus the kitchen does an amazing job with all the food. I’ve been coming here for several years and I have never been disappointed. We drive up from Santa Cruz and it’s well worth it.

The food was plain and over priced. The service was really bad and could not understand what he was saying. One if the drink came out with the sticker still on the fruit I The drink. I would not go back try a different place

I can't say enough about how delicious the food was, and how attentive staff were! We were never without a full glass of water, wine, or a plate stunning food in front of us! The trust me tasting menu is a must try, we each received different items throughout or tasting! Cheers to Valette for making our anniversary absolutely dazzling! Surprisingly, even with delicate plates, we were absolutely stuffed when we left! Beautiful food that is absolutely decadent, with a fabulous atmosphere, and staff that makes you feel like royalty.

Food was delicious! Our friends and I had a fantastic time there. All staff was very welcoming and friendly. A special thank you for the kitchen and for the FOH manager for an extra treat to being our food experience. Sandra our server was also terrific. My husband and I will continue to dine there and take family and friends during the holiday’s to come. Cheers!

Everything we ordered was excellent. The yellow squash and saffron soup was so tasty and the presentation was classy. I enjoyed my filet mignon and my husband enjoyed the duck. The portion sizes were perfect for us, we ate every bite. Their wine list was also very good. Highly recommend, we’ll eat here again!

This was the best restaurant we dined at during our recent trip to Healdsburg. Staff was nice but the food was fabulous. My cripsy black cod fish was seared and cooked perfectly without being dry and the chimichurri sauce served with it was delicious. Hubby had the duck and thought it was one of the better duck dishes he's ever eaten (he orders duck quite frequently) and raved that it was not gamey nor chewy. I'm not a fan of pavlova for dessert, but theirs was good. Hubby enjoyed his panna cotta. We could have easily dined here on consecutive days. Dress is casual to business casual. We have to remember to return here again when we make another trip back to Healdsburg.
