Vagabondo Italian Ristorante & Lounge
We take the thinking out of it and allow you to select the items you want to please your crowd. As long as you have 10 or more people to feed, it's as easy as knowing your budget per person, then selecting the flavours that fit into your budget. Really, it's that simple.
Everything was delicious.
Welcoming staff and always good food
I had been to Vagabondo a couple of years ago and loved it then as well. The meatballs (appetizer) were the best ever. Both of the pasta options we chose were so delicious and the bread was excellent as well as the accompaniment of great hot sauce. Great friendly service also.
Amazing home style Italian cooking! You certainly don’t leave hungry!
Vagabondo has and always been a favourite for us. We love the location, the food, the service, the staff and have never had any issues. Our recent experience was however a little disappointing as we ordered a vegetarian pizza for elders in our family who are vegetarian due to religious beliefs and were shocked and disappointed to find pieces of chicken in it. Unfortunately they only found out once they bit into it as the lighting was poor on the patio and we brought it to the attention of our server and someone within management. We understand mistakes happen and everyone is only human after all, but from a customer point of view this does put an extremely sour taste in our mouth, as well as our overall trust and experience with the food provider. That being said, we requested new plates and just finished off our meals, as the group was large, and paid for the meal. The management apologized, offered on the house desert and did not charge us for that chicken pizza. We appreciate that gesture however we implore the management and staff to be extra vigilant in these matters as the next mistake could be more damaging if it were someone with allergies, etc. Finally, as we mentioned we like Vagabondo and will certainly return in the future in the hopes of a better experience.
Great selection and great food. The area behind us was rented out to people doing a paint class so it was a little annoying to keep hearing instructions about what people should be doing.
Our waiter was great and the food was wonderful and had something for everyone.
Also a very good selection of wines.
The restaurant was pretty quiet outside on the patio. Probably because it was a Wednesday evening. Our server’s name was Lara and she was a real gem. She was extremely friendly and very efficient and we really appreciated her. The food was very good and the pricing was quite reasonable for a downtown Toronto restaurant. Overall we were very pleased with our experience and we would certainly return. Alan
We were in Toronto for CanFit Pro on our way back to our Hotel from long day we dicided to change our reservations to this restaurant instead. We were so glad we did food was amazing, the staff were so accommodating and the atmosphere made it even more enjoyable even though there was no room for us on The patio
Our service was okay, we had to flag our server down a few times. And the food was alright, certainly not authentic Italian, but it was enjoyable for the price
Always tasty and very friendly wait staff. Only issue - second order of bread could have come much sooner.
The food was undercooked, we only saw our server three times.
Unfortunately, the food served to us was awful. The appetizers were okay, nothing I can't prepare myself at home. The tomato/mozarrella salad was not presented as a regular caprese salad. Instead cherry tomatoes and small pieces of mozarrella were tossed together in what appeared to be a dressing. The dressing stood out more than the freshness of the ingredients, which is not what one would expect from a basic caprese salad. Both main courses were prepared very poorly. The gnocchi came in a very heavy cream sauce. It was also not cooked well, kept sticking to the roof of my mouth. Neither myself nor my sister were able to finish this dish. The other main course at our table, the fish, appeared to have been reheated instead of cooked fresh. And the side vegetables were almost raw - unsure if that was the intention. The biggest disappointment was the cheesecake. There was no actual cheesecake crumb crust. Instead, a store-bought pie crust was used and filled with cheesecake filling, and topped off with what I assume was blueberry pie filling. The pie crust also appeared to not have been fully baked. All the food tasted like it came from a packaged grocery store version of itself instead of being prepared fresh at the restaurant. Customers should not be paying for food like this at a restaurant that for some reason is rated four stars.
While we were eating, a staff member walked around with a smart phone and filmed the dining area. This I'm assuming will be used in an attempt to promote the restaurant and drum up business. No consent was taken or notification provided to the customers prior to doing so. Market the restaurant all you want, but the poor quality and lack of authenticity of the food is very telling and until this is rectified, I'm afraid Vagobondo will fail despite its location.
This restaurant was very- odd. We went for our anniversary, and it seemed ok when we arrived, but soon after there was a DJ playing (on a Thursday evening) playing very strange 70s type house music? It was not an Italian restaurant ambience I was expecting. Very clubby. And the food was meh. Our waiter was attentive but not very warm. Overall just an okay dinner. Would not recommend or go again.
Good calamari. Bad drinks do not order Mojito, really bad taste and no mint.
Dinner was very good. WE went here on a Saturday night it wasn't busy when we got there but it got busier as the night went on. We had the Summerliouse menu( 3 course dinner for $33)because the regular menu was pricey.
If you don't mind the bad service or bar menu and just want good food, then eat here. If not, I'm sure there are better Italian places in this city.
Open Table Dining Cheque was not honoured even though the restaurant is an Open Table restaurant. What’s up with that?
If an Open Table restaurant accepts your reservation made on the Open Table website, then why would they not accept a dining cheque?
Seems very sneaky to me.
I wrote a complaint directly to this establishment as well, but even after having made a reservation, and being seated, we sat for 40 mins without being approached by any servers. No one asked if wanted beverages, no one even acknowledged us and we were extremely disappointed. It was not overly busy and we watched 2 other tables get seated AND served during this 40 minute period right next to us. We had a horrible time and finally left after 40 mins and watching other tables get their meals in the time we were there. We will not return to this restaurant.
I was very disappointed with the level of service, it took about 20 minutes after we finished our appetizer before we were served the main entree and this is after I complained to the hostess (the table beside us was served before us when they arrived after us). I feel like the owners prioritized their online orders instead of paying attention to their dine in guests (our table was beside where they were preparing orders for pick up). It’s really too bad because the food was great and our server was really nice . I was really looking forward to this but was disappointed with the experience.
Service is awful! Waited 45 minutes to place our food order. Waitress was very inattentive and kept disappearing. We were seated in front of the speaker and the music was so loud it was hard to hear ourselves and they refused to turn it down. Just a disappointing experience all around and would not return.
Fantastic Summerlicious menu. The staff was welcoming and friendly. We'll be back.
Went there for Summerlicous and the choice of dishes was great. Service was great . The outdoor patio is just sheltered enough to be be very comfortable if the weather is not ideal.
Wonderful selection of Italian fare. Sunday was 1/2 price on a bottle of wine, so we enjoyed a terrific Chardonnay at a great price. Our server was helpful and friendly. After dinner, we had a drink in the cozy and chic bar. There is also an outdoor patio area with a fountain. Overall, a very nice experience. We will certainly return to Vagabondo!
Had a great time with family. We had a surprise for our grandma from restaurant. It was an amazing experience.
We dined here fairly early on a Friday evening. The food was ok, but overall our experience wasn’t great. Service was slow and inattentive despite the fact that it was not busy. Several servers seemed more interested in restocking the bar and chatting, than checking on tables. We weren’t offered pepper or Parmesan for our pastas, though we noticed that most tables were provided that. Getting attention to get our bill was also a challenge, and only when processing our payment did our server appear to be at all cheerful or interested that we were there. The patio looked nice, but weather didn’t cooperate to allow us to enjoy it. No need for us to return as there are far better options in the city!
They crammed everyone into the bar area and kept the rear of the place empty. Music was way too loud as you had to talk over it. The service was abismal to put it nicely as it took an hour to get our meals out. When the meals did arrive, they were fantastic! Maybe they had an off night but if they turn the volume down, refrain from cramming thrir patrons into one confined space and reprioritized time from chatting from behind the bar with one another to serving their customers, they'd have a winning recipe. Kudos to the cooks they know how to rock out good food.
Amazing food, and great service! Love coming here. I highly recommend the risotto.
We went to enjoy a meal before a show and the experience was great. Our server was great and helpful.
Amazing entree, good atmosphere. Staff where very attentive.
Very disappointing for a upscale downtown restaurant. Parking is hard to find as there are no signs or directions, pay parking only below the building, no directions to restaurant and no refund of the parking fee. We were seated in a lounge that was noisy and full of televisions, not the quiet restaurant atmosphere we expected. Service was extremely slow, it took an hour before we could order, appetizers were passable, however main dish was stone cold and sent back for reheating. Wine list by the glass is extremely limited, by the bottle is very pricey. However, home made bread was good. I think that we will pass on this one in future.
Our favorite restaurant ever - the staff and restaurant owners are always so hospitable! As my husband and I say, it's home away from home! Thanks for the awesome service - always!
Rushed through our meal.
Made reservation week before hand but sat in the bar area which had a party coming in shortly.
Server rushed us through dinner.
Within 2 min of ordering our salads did they arrive and before our salads were done our mains arrived.
The arribiata sauce was horrible and the chicken was dry.
But this is not the servers fault.
The party behind us started to arrive and one of the leaders of the party asked us when we were going to leave.
Worst dining experience yet in Toronto.
Have heard great things about the restaurant so I was very surprised at the experience.
the food are v good , no fancy art work on plate but yummy cooking, fresh herb steak, French cut veal are the must try, don't know about the pizza is worth it, though there are plenty choices. the eggplant sauce with bread is so good it 's a plus for the meal, well complimented together.
Fabulous food and nice sized portions
Would not go back. Bad food, bad service!! Don’t know how this restaurant has such high star rating?!?!
The food here was fantastic! Haven't been to a restaurant this good in a while, and our server was wonderful.
Food and drink was excellent and so was the service. Had a reservation so we were seated right away. Our table was in a nice little corner so we were able to talk and hear each other. Great staff.
Went for winterlicious, food was amazing, everyone was happy with what they ordered.
Food was excellent. Winterlicious menu was good. Service started off well and then fell off dramatically. Not enough servers -we felt forgotten. Wouldn’t go back for that reason. Too busy with take-out orders then with patrons at table. People next to us waited forever and then one meal was forgotten. They were not happy.
Went for Winterlicious. Nothing special, just average, although correct. Expecting more.
