Have dined here for many years, always great food and service. I was glad to see them open and following new guidelines for getting through this difficult time. I am a small business owner and fully understand what we have to do to protect our staff, ourselves and customers!! Thank you for your diligence. 👍👍
Sat outside. It was quiet, cool and separated from other diners. Food was great. Glad they are open again for in-house dining.
Fantastic meal, fabulous service...a great evening on the patio
Always fresh food and friendly service. Took a client there who hadn't been before and he was impressed. THEY NEED YOUR SUPPORT SO GO EAT THERE! Neighborhood gems are hard to come by.
Consistently a great meal. Staff were so pleasant, as always. We are thrilled they are open! Missed those brussle sprouts
Our first lunch out since the shutdown. The staff was great!
Thank you so much for being a great local restaurant treasure!!!
The wait staff is always excellent and attentive. Great neighborhood spot and have a great weekend brunch too!
Fast friendly service. Healthy food
We went for Brunch. Place was empty at 10 am. A few diners came in while we were there.
Scrambled eggs and bacon were just ok
Husbands over medium eggs had hard yellows
His steak was ok
Grits tasted like instant. Very powdery and lukewarm
Biscuits and gravy were blah. Biscuits tasted canned and warmed over and gravy tasted packaged. Both were less than lukewarm
Crepes with fig and Brie were good but the Brie could’ve been melted a little more.
Chicken and waffles not special. Waffle was tough and chicken a little too salty
My Bloody Mary was good. Waiter was pleasant and attentive.
I will not revisit. Would not recommend it.
The food was very good and we will be back for more of their outstanding salads. My only concern was a table placed so close to our table, the other diners kept bumping my dinner companion's chair.
Our waiter was helpful and friendly.
The manager was awesome
Birthday celebration. Very accomodating.
Always great food and great service. One of our favorite neighborhood dining spots
The service and the food were both exceptional. Truly amazing food. I live in Nashville and can't wait to come back!
Great spot, great service!!!
Great neighborhood dining. Food and service are always the best!
Great local spot. Usually has sports on the tv. Nice staff. Great food. Had our book club meeting there
I used to like this place but brunch food quality was very low. It’s lower prices, so I’m not expecting much but still. Bland yet overly salty.
It was a nice place to eat, the food was good but nothing was outstanding as I was hoping for. The waitstaff was friendly and took good care of us. Wine selection was very small but ok.
This was our second visit but just as wonderful as the first. We really enjoy the breakfast menu. So many great choices it’s hard to choose!!!
It was nice. Quick service and tasty food.
This is a high quality neighborhood restaurant that shouldn’t be missed.
Fish in tacos was over cooked to the point of being hard. Tuna salad just ok. Made a reservation for 7 and was put in a booth where we were a quite crowded. Service was good but took a while to get food.
We had heard a lot about this restaurant. It was Houston Restaurant Week and a Sunday morning so the place was definitely busy. Fortunately we had a reservation (for 6) and were seated right away. For the most part after that it was not very good. Our server tried however I think she was slammed. The food was marginal at best. A couple of us ordered waffles and they had little or no taste. I then ordered plain Eggs Benedict. Whatever they put in the hollandasie sauce did not taste good. Also too many bell peppers in every dish. One of our party had salmon and it was extremely dry and overcooked. Overall none of our party were impressed with the food. Maybe we will give it a try for lunch sometime. We were not impressed with brunch.
Overall, a great experience. We dined there for Sunday Brunch and took advantage of the Houston Restaurant Weeks menu. The banana Belgium waffle with peanut butter syrup was delicious but the eggs Benedict both the traditional and crab were fabulous. I like my eggs hard poached and they were cooked perfectly. It may sound trivial but in so many cases at other restaurants they can’t seem to get the “hard poached” request correct. In my opinion this is the best place we’ve found for brunch in many years. I highly recommend reservations though, they were filling up fast when we arrived. I look forward to returning for dinner sometime as well. Great job, we will definitely be back!
The Brunch Restaurant Week menu was poor and not worth the drive or money. The quality was lacking and I was not satisfied with the taste of the meal.
Just good food, wonderful service at a reasonable price. No wonder it is popular with the people in the neighbourhood.
The food was tasty. I enjoyed the grilled redfish. At the end of the meal we were waiting to cash out and the server disappeared, we called another over to take care of us.
First, thank you for participating in HRW.
Both meals were great. I had the kale salad and my friend had salmon cakes for starters. We both had the pork ribeye. For dessert, I had pecan pie and she had the chocolate pie.
Service was great.
Great neighborhood bar and food. The restraint week menu is really good!
Took my cousin to brunch before they headed back home. They had the urban breakfast and I had the hot mess. The hot mess was outstanding. It will fill you up for the day.
Recommendation would be with a caveat that it is a very noisy place. The food is good and the service was very good. Noise disturbed our guests.
The only issues i had was with rude staff whom i caught laughing and talking about a over weight lady with our party.....very unprofessional also had to flag waiter down several times he never came to check on our table...without us calling for him..
My first time at Urban Kitchen was wonderful. My friend and I shared the truffle fries as an appetizer, which were outstanding, and a bottle of wine as it was half off on Wednesdays. I had the grilled salmon and would definitely order it again!
We went for my moms birthday dinner. Everything was amazing
Went there for my birthday dinner. I had previously loved the food I had rated there but tonight I was not crazy about it. I got the daily special which was fish with calamari and shrimp and a cream sauce. It sounded great but the shrimp looked like little pale salad shrimp and the calamari was fishy and rubbery.
We always bring our friends here. The food is consistently good. Always hot. Beautiful presentation. Great value. I had the blackened salmon, sautéed spinach, with pesto risotto that was a party in the mouth. $16.95. Outstandingly flavorful. Friends had ribeye street tacos very flavorful and lobster mac and cheese, loaded with lobster. We love the calamari appetizer and the naughty blue cheese chips. And, it is quiet. Don’t let the road construction detour you from coming here. It’s a gem.
Jeremy is terrific. His personality and attitude are definitely an asset to your really good food. He is also a great bartender. Made me the perfect slightly dirty martini.
We live close by (our home flooded but we’ll be back soon) and really appreciate your being in our neighborhood.
