Urban Kitchen embraces food and community as one. We aim to be that neighborhood destination for any meal and for people of all ages.
We are now open, so don’t wait and come on in for your next meal!
We always bring our friends here. The food is consistently good. Always hot. Beautiful presentation. Great value. I had the blackened salmon, sautéed spinach, with pesto risotto that was a party in the mouth. $16.95. Outstandingly flavorful. Friends had ribeye street tacos very flavorful and lobster mac and cheese, loaded with lobster. We love the calamari appetizer and the naughty blue cheese chips. And, it is quiet. Don’t let the road construction detour you from coming here. It’s a gem.
Jeremy is terrific. His personality and attitude are definitely an asset to your really good food. He is also a great bartender. Made me the perfect slightly dirty martini.
We live close by (our home flooded but we’ll be back soon) and really appreciate your being in our neighborhood.
It’s funny that Open Table wants a review for this restaurant that swears they don’t have reservations on Open Table. We arrived for our reservation and the restaurant didn’t have it and said they don’t use Open Table, only Yelp. I showed the waitress my confirmation and she kind of brushed it off. They sat us in a nearly empty restaurant in the very back corner. It was 5:30 PM. I was very annoyed.
Regardless, the food was very good and I will try them again. It may be hard to get over a bad first impression from the manager tho.
Our server was friendly and helpful.
Always a great experience from the service to the varied menu. Everyone enjoys and they have great wine.
Urban Kitchen is consistently good. My chef special salmon was cooked perfectly and our food came to the table hot. My husband ordered seafood pasta. It was loaded with seafood. We bring our friends whenever we have a chance.
The food was very good, especially the eggs Benedict. And the mimosas were a reasonable $15/carafe. The service was friendly and not rushed. Will return.
Father’s Day brunch was so lovely! Great service and delicious food!
Very surprised at the quality of the food. Excellent blackened fish tacos and wife loved the special. Will be back
Went during off time—after lunch/before dinner so ample seating available. Wine selection was good. Service great. Had the hangover hamburger and chili hash, rainbow trout and Cajun pasta. Hamburger was good with a fried egg , onion rings, and chili hash. Trout was tasty with crab topping. Cajun dish was spicy. Only item that was disappointing was the creme brûlée on mousse cake. Ruined the creme brûlée.
Great find for a family dinner - awesome tuna tartare and fish!
Once seated, we had a long wait for our waitress and menus to show up. Waitress apologized when she appeared--said she had a large table she had to attend to. After serving our food, she again disappeared for the longest time. We had to flag down other waiters to get a latte, more syrup, and another orange juice. They had all kinds of people standing behind the counter not doing much, so they weren't short-staffed, just poor resource allocation. I ordered eggs benedict. Both english muffins were 70% black, ruining the taste of the eggs benedict. Pointed it out to our official waitress who showed after we were 90% finished eating. She offered new ones, but it was too late--eggs & ham were eaten. No credit or apology offered from management. I was glad to leave the place. It has a good location deep in Memorial, thus its popularity, but it was a very frustrating place for us.
We made reservations to urban kitchen for mothers day for 8pm through the open table app. We called as we were minutes down the street to let them know we would be a minute or two late, but we were almost there. Only to be told the kitchen was closed but the app said they were open and we made reservations. So Mother's Day didn't go as good as planned. I dont know if it was a mistake with the app or the restaurant, i wouldnt recommend either one if you trying to have a special night out.
Took mom to Urban Kitchen for 3 course lunch. The food and service were out of this world!
Food was not really worth it. We had salmon ceviche, crepes, soft shell crab, redfish, tres leches. and key lime pie.
Urban Kitchen has a great vibe, nice layout, and great food. Although we were unaware and did not participate, they were having a monthly theme night, it was clear that they have a strong following of regulars. They have discounted wine nights weekly. Our waiter (Jeremy) was excellent, and the owners were there for the theme night, seemed down to earth and friendly. We were visiting from Dallas and happened upon this gem, will definitely come again if we are in the area.
Just had brunch!!! Everything was lovely!!
Very nice place with above average good. Great for a family outing
Always enjoy the food here. Never disappointed. Ilam was an excellent waitress.
Booth seating is nice and private.
I worked near Urban Kitchen and would often go here for a quick lunch that was healthy and tasty. My mother happened to go there with a friend and I was able to work with the staff to surprise her with a dessert and picking up the bill remotely. The staff made her feel like a million bucks and she was so happy. Thanks to the great team there for going above and beyond :-)
Great as always. One suggestion would be to put some bread or crackers on the table while you’re waiting for your drinks.
My wife and friends all love it at Urban Kitchen. All the staff and the couple that own it are super nice and provide exemplary service. The food is delightful. I eat out all the time at a lot of places and this is for sure a go to for us and our friends.
Excellent service. Manager personally responded to a question about a specific dish we ordered.
Called for a reservation and from the beginning everyone was happy and friendly. Great service and great food!
Eat here often as get friendly service and delicious food. The appetizer sampler is a nice addition to their menu.
Overall it was a good experience and we will be back. At first we sat indoors but tried several tables and could feel the air conditioning blowing a bit forcefully so chose to dine out on the patio instead. The patio was great! It is designed well for privacy so it doesn’t feel like you are sitting in a parking lot like at other establishments, it is more of a garden inspired setting. We ordered 2 of the lobster benedict brunch plates and a bbq sandwich. The lobster benedict was good, and the bbq sandwich received high compliments. The server Jeremy was outstanding; very friendly, made good recommendations when asked and very attentive to our needs. I recommend requesting him if you are able to.
This place commits fraud. Charged credit card twice!!!!
We got to the Urban Kitchen for our reservation. When we opened the door, the noise level was very high. It was quite difficult to even hear the hostess. We were taken to a tiny cubbyhole booth for two hidden away in the corner. That was the last we saw of any wait staff. We sat for five plus minutes trying to hear each other across the table and watching staff go past our secluded but loud booth. We decided that we would be happier elsewhere and left. We did speak to the staff at the front and told them it was just too loud for us. They offered outdoor seating, but being as it was chilly and rainy we declined.
Our server Jeremy was friendly and very helpful. I had the carbonara with chicken for the 2nd time and my wife had the Airline Chicken. Both were delicious. We visit about once a month.
The Herb Seared Salmon entree was excellent and my guest really enjoyed the pecan crusted chicken salad with balsamic dressing. We ordered from the lunch menu. The service was excellent as well.
All four of us enjoyed our lunch. Fish tacos looked amazing. Shrimp wrap was super fresh. I had the luncheon crusted salmon plate. The salmon was perfectly cooked though a little small. The asparagus was excellent but the risotto a bit disappointing as it was under cooked. I will be back.
Been here multiple times and glad to see some new items on the menu! Fresh and quality food. Wide variety.
We ate here for brunch on Thanksgiving day since we weren't celebrating with family until later. The food was very good and the atmosphere was, too. The service was average but maybe they just weren't excited to be working on Thanksgiving day.
Great lunch spot in the Energy Corridor. Not too crowded, good menu, easy parking. Food and service were outstanding.
Went for an early dinner. So we were the only table for a while.
The food is delicious, really unique choices that you don't find everywhere. Offers a full bar, plus booths and tables. Drink specials available. Really all-around good place to eat.
Rarely do we have a dinner without a complaint of some sort. Well, this one was one of those
virtually non-existent happenings. From the martinis to the salads to the entrees (lamb and pork loin) to the sides to the presentation to the service to the cleanliness of the property, all was top-notch. It was our first time at this restaurant, despite it being fairly close to home.
Though it was a Saturday we were surprised that it wasn't more populated. Perhaps the World Series had an effect on the crowd. They do have a prominent TV for the die-hards, however.
In summary, it was nice to discover a neighborhood spot that we will return to without wondering what will mar our dining experience. Bravo!
Love this restaurant. Neighborhood friendly with delicious food and drinks. Great happy hour too! They support the schools too! That’s important to me.
My experience was horrible from start to finish, the waiter, Cleyton was rude and arrogant and when I addressed it with the manager, she was very nonchalant in her handling of the situation. I also emailed the General Manager and they were nonchalant as well. And the food on that day was subpar at best!
Good food and service. HRW lunch options were great. This was our first visit and look forward to our next friends lunch.
Reservation for 1:30 Saturday. Service was slow to get drink orders then food took a long time. Had to leave for dessert elsewhere because ladies and children were too cold.
