Urban Grub never disappoints. We've never had a bad meal and can't wait to go back again.
Urban Grub was a delightful experience. The food was just as good as the waiter described. the wood fired oysters were amazing. I have never had better shrimps and grits. the pork chop was so tender and juicy.
the beer and alcohol selection was a list that just goes on and on...
We loved this beautiful and cozy spot. little seating nooks everywhere. If the weather was nicer (not raining) we definitely would have sat outside in the beautiful patio
Very rarely do we find restaurants where both owners and staff that take much pride in their restaurants!! This was the case from the time we entered to the time we left.
Me and my husband had a date night with just us and if felt Cozy when we were outside with the heaters. The food was great the wood fire oyster were my favorite.
ten thumbs up every time we eat there!! wait staff great food amazing and the atmosphere of the entire restaurant is fabulous greeted very well when we came in
I visited with a group of 5 friends. We were seated outdoors which is a comfortable, well laid out environment.
Both our server Eric and the manager Garth were very knowledgeable and polite. They took genuine pride in the food that was served and were happy to take the time to explain any questions we had throughout our entire experience.
The charcuterie was excellent with an eclectic mix of options that all worked well with each other. The oysters fresh and well shucked. Freshly baked biscuits melt in your mouth were a nice bonus.
I ordered the shrimp and grits and added their house made andouille sausage on the recommendation of Eric. It was a symphony of flavor and textures of perfectly cooked ingredients. The best I’ve had. I sampled my brother’s braised lamb shank (on special) and it was as well prepared as my meal leaving me questioning whether the mushrooms or parsnip purée were better than the lamb.
The dishes are extremely rich and complex, you will leave full. It’s obvious there has been a huge amount of work put into perfecting these dishes by very talented chefs. I dined here four days ago and am still thinking about this meal.
I highly recommend Urban Grub.
I know they don't want people to call it a brunch "
buffet," but they have one and it is bomb. It's $47 but damn. Worth it.
Great fine dining exp. Try the creamed brussel sprouts with Naan bread. So delish - a great bottle of wine and all in all a perfect evening. The free valet parking an added bonus - we never knew about that and parked on the street. When we walked up to the restaurant the valet offered to go get our car and bring it up to us when we were done eating!!! Very nice..
Absolutely delicious. Very much worth the price! We got a large spread of food and there was nothing I would not recommend!
I have been here 30 plus times and they never disappoint. The double cut pork chop is my favorite for some reason and it is a huge portion. Sides are always out of this world and great to share.
We did not have a good meal at Urban Grub. It was so disappointing. The charcuterie board was average. The wedge salad was awful; it had way too many extra ingredients in it, like scoops of egg salad. My steak was good, but my hash browns were over cooked and dry; they were covered with shredded cheese that never melted. It made me think they were hiding how awful the hash browns looked. my husband had very soupy shrimp & grits. There was almost not grits, however, the taste was good. We sat on the courtyard by the fireplace and that was nice.
My girlfriend and I visited Urban Grub for a special event and also to satisfy a craving for oysters. The oysters were delicious and our entrees were great. Overall a great experience and we will be back for another special dinner.
Delicious night out. I always take friends who come from out of town and bring them here. The staff is always nice and their food is very good.
We ordered a charcuterie board which was excellent as they smoke their own meats on premises. They were very accommodating - made room for us when we were early for our reservation. Had a table on the patio which was perfect for the weather. We ordered from the guest chef menu which was driven by how full we were after the charcuterie. Meals were ok. They recommended that we order items from the menu that were in the box. That was good advice as the chicken was very dry. If you can’t recommend everything on the menu- why is it on the menu?
Wait staff was awesome! So helpful with the menu. The food was beyond fantastic. This was a great customer service as well as foodie experience. Shout out to Sam in the kitchen...Kathy’s friends say hi.
We were tired of all the mediocre chain restaurants near Broadway. This was a fabulous meal that become the dining highlight of our trip. I highly recommend it for anybody living near or visiting 12 South.
Outstanding all around. Can’t wait to come back. Delicious meal!
We we did not request it but got lucky and were seated outside on a small patio. The food was spectacular, the setting was awesome, and the service was great. Get the steak!!
Party of four had drinks, wine, oysters, tuna crudo, salads, chops, steak and pasta. Booth was comfortable. Service and food were good, and special dining needs were accommodated well. No complaints.
Good not great food. Extremely loud. Great service even though they were very busy.
Food was outstanding and server was very knowledgeable. It was a bit loud and difficult to hear our party of four across the table. Overall amazing experience and will definitely return.
The food was absolutely delicious and the waitstaff was very attentive and made great suggestions!!! We especially liked Jenna who was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable! Thanks Jenna for the great Italian wine suggestion and conversation! We’ll definitely be back next time we visit Nashville. 👍😊
Best Filet Mignon I’ve ever eaten. They have their own on site butcher shop that chops and ages their steak. Unbelievably good.
Fun place! Great atmosphere , oysters are amazing and food was great too! Highly recommend.
Very noisy and crowded feeling especially for the price
Outside evening dinner in the small courtyard at the back was extremely beautiful.
All of our servers were outstanding; fun, knowledgeable and attentive. Of course the food was delicious. Keep it up.
Nice place, but I don’t recommend what they’re calling “hot chicken.” Had they called it a “fried chicken po’ boy” it would have been fine, but the cheese grits had more spice. Otherwise good meal.
We went to Urban Grub for our first wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed, but we will be returning over and over again to try everything on the menu! The cocktails were amazing and the oysters were out of this world. Please do yourself a favor and try this place pronto!
Urban Grub never disappoints. The service and food are ALWAYS exceptional.
I met a friend for dinner, we were both coming from out of state and selected urban grub. We sat in the beer garden and were so pleased with everything! The atmosphere, food, wait staff was all impeccable!
Repeat visitor. Unfortunately the service from our waiter this time was sub par. Manager visited our table to check in and fixed an issue with the drinks but otherwise we were disappointed with the service. Food was great, as usual.
Start w the pork fries & white sauce. Enjoy assorted bread basket w homemade preserves. We had double cut pork chop & steak frites. Portions are large, so they boxed the leftovers for us. Free valet. Great food & excellent service!!
Went with another couple for a birthday brunch for my SO. We had made a reservation and we were seated very quickly on the patio. The weather was perfect, so there no complaints about that! Our server was friendly- he explained the brunch menu and available cocktails. He even recommended taking a look at the seafood bar (Shhhhh it's really a buffet). For $50, not really worth it to me- even with the crab legs, oysters, and shrimp. Our brunch entrees arrived after about a 40+ minute wait. We had our cocktails already and the server brought out some complimentary muffins. When our meals arrived, two of the plates were incorrect- my SO opted to keep hers. The other guest asked to send hers back. It took nearly another 30 minutes to bring out the correct meal. The rest of our table had finished our meals before hers even arrived. While I understand that errors do happen, the kitchen failed in expediting the correct order. This will not dissuade me from returning. But for their price point, I would have expected better.
The Urban Grub has a beautiful set up. It is extremely romantic and peaceful. The only issue I have is with the over priced meals with very little portions. I ordered the pork chops with peach glaze. I ended up taking leftovers home to finish cooking my pork chops completely. My boyfriend ordered steak and fries. It was nearly $30, for only 4-5 slices of steak. I would not recommend Urban Grub to anyone that has a large appetite. The setting is beautiful, but was not worth it. We attended BRICKTOP, last weekend ordered quite a bit of food and was EXTREMELY satisfied. We spent $80 there. At Urban Grub for the little that we did order and receive our total was $96.
Loved the biscuits and jam! Great atmosphere with many different seating areas.
The only thing better than our meal was the service. Thanks Garth.
The food was impeccable, filet was like butter. The waiter we had could use a pep in his step, not friendly at all. For the prices your paying, you would like someone more personable.
The overall experience was excellent! I had 2 people from Japan with me and they were very impressed.
Guys. This is hands down the best restaurant in Nashville if you love seafood. It was one of the best meals I’ve had so far living here for 2 years. Appetizer wise we chose two meats and cheese (so glad we did that) and for the meals shrimp & grits and steak. So good. Please go!
