The design of the restaurant features a rustic elegance, filled with custom woodwork, stone fireplaces and rounded booths tucked in intimate corners. Urban Grub offers both indoor and outdoor seating with a combination of the two in the beer garden, accompanied a view of the restaurant’s meat curing room, as well as a covered gazebo for larger parties.
From the inviting indoor-outdoor atmosphere to the elevated Southern cuisine of fresh seafood, house-made charcuterie, and prime dry-aged steaks, the experience is unforgettable.

Important to note that we dined on the Valentines Day menu with a little more limited selection. The portions were pretty small and seemed to be put together very fast/sloppy presentation (not the end of the world to me, but enough to be worth mentioning). The dinner was around 3 hours which was a little long as we ordered shortly after seating. The wait staff had an argument near closing right off the floor behind a curtain. Was just overall not the best experience. Would like to try it when they are not so slammed.
We made reservation through opentable, we received a call from the restaurant to confirm if we are ok with pre-fixed menu. Instead having reservation at 9:45 pm, we had to wait for more than 30 mins.
When we placed an order for food, couple of items which we were interested in were not available in first, third and forth courses. So we had to settle down for something on the menu. As it’s was $95 meal, we expected to eat what we decided. I understand that sometimes restaurants run out of few things, but this happened over three courses.
Our previous experiences at Urban Grub have been great, Valentines Day got away from them a little bit. Our reservation was for 9:30, it was almost 11pm when we were finally seated. Overall they did the best that they could, but it wasn’t a great experience.
Looking forward to going back... on a Tuesday or something!
We went for Valentine’s Day expecting a pre fixed, upscale meal. What we got was the most disgusting waste of money I have ever experienced. It hurt to pay 95$ for mediocre food and a white table cloth facade inside of a sports bar. They sat us an hour late despite a reservation I had made a month in advance. The shrimp crudo made me ill but not as ill as the thought of money wasted on this meal.
Fixed menu cheapens how good the food is here. The menu options standalone are much better. Even though it was Valentine's Day it was still a bit slow and not as enjoyable as the many times I have been there before.
I will never ever in life eat at this place again. I’m okay with spending money on a meal but i spend 400.00 on a meal and we didn’t eat ANY of the food. We sat over 2 hours waiting to be seated and once seated waited a hour in a half for the food to come out cold. Urban Grub will never get another dime from me.
Had dinner on Valentine's Day. Drinks came out wrong, steak came out cold. Sent both back and both situations were fixed. The restaurant did not seem to be ready for a busy night and we were there at 5:45. The rose given at the end was a nice touch.
Fantastic waiter! Enjoyable family meal on Valentines Day.
I have gone to Urban Grub 50+ times in the last year, I go every Tuesday and have been a loyal customer. I booked a last minute reservation on Valentine’s Day, 2 hours prior. When we arrived, we were seated late and in a makeshift outdoor area that was freezing cold. (It’s 36 degrees outside and I had a baby in tow.) The hostess even brought extra napkins to put around my child in the high chair because it was that cold. After we sat down we were informed about a set menu. When I made the reservation I got no notification about this. The menu was not vegetarian/vegan friendly, and the $26+ price tag for “add on’s” seemed rather absurd. I said I would pay for several add on’s but didn’t want anything on the menu, I was then told I could take it to go... but knowing it would sit in my fridge and ultimately be thrown out, I decided against that idea. The manager (who I’ve seen SO many times) came over and was extremely rude. Not understanding, and even told me I could sit at the bar instead 🤣... again, I had a baby with me. NOT a solution. He almost acted like we couldn’t afford the dinner... which is comical. I completely understand the idea of a set menu, and am super understanding but his response to the issue was horribly poor.
It’s safe to say I won’t be returning and they lost a very loyal customer with the horrible customer service. I am very understanding and willing to pay for quality, they’ve always been kind in the past...but how that situation was handled was less than poor. You don’t get to charge high prices for plastic chair dining on a frozen patio. Not a good look.
Had dinner on Valentine’s Day with my husband. The staff contacted me twice to make sure I understood that there was a special menu/pricing and encouraged me to view the menu online since the regular menu would not be an option. The special menu had a wide variety of dishes and everything we had food-wise was very good. My only wish is that with all of the effort to make sure we knew about the special menu that they had let us know we were being seated outside. It was hard to really enjoy the meal because we were cold. The outdoor heating set-up was not ideal (I’m sure it was a good bit colder than normal for Valentine’s), but even if it hadn’t been, I would have expected to be made aware of the outdoor arrangement in advance. The staff was nice/gave us gourmet chocolate to compensate. We’re not from the Nashville area and location was a ways from downtown where we were staying. If I were local, I would probably give it a shot again if I knew we were being seated inside or if weather/temps weren’t an issue.
Delicious as always
Urban Grub is our favorite restaurant in Nashville so we decided to come here for our 5th wedding anniversary. The food, service and overall experience was excellent as always but I really appreciated the champagne we received for our anniversary and the extra time the waitress gave us to just hangout together. We have a toddler so adult dinner conversation is rare and I really appreciated how kind she was and never once rushed us! The perfect anniversary
Service was great - very timely and attentive, and the server made a lot of great suggestions on family style dining for our party of 8.
Food was fantastic! Where we sat was a little cold until more people were seated by us. Our server was a bit odd, (went MIA, never saw him again when we needed the check) but we got over it and the sommelier filled in and he was great!
We were seated in a corner in a room set up for a large party that was showing up later in the evening. All was fine until a party of 4 was sat right next to us. The tables were all oddly spaced to the point where you could easily reach out and touch the neighbor's table. This greatly affected the ambiance of the experience. It is hard to carry on a conversation when there is a group of 4 doing the same barely 2 to 3 feet away. Service was slow and a cocktail was ordered prior to entrees dropping that did not arrive until the entree had been finished. "The bar is a little backed up" was the reason given. The party of 18 showed up as we finished, which is good because their noise level overpowered anyone else in the room. Food was good, but experience as a whole was not worth the price paid.
Music too loud.
The charcuterie counter was incredible. Craft cocktails were tasty. Loved the menu and the portions were plenty.
UG for dinner is just OK to me. Brunch is fantastic, but dinner has been fair and overpriced. I do love the atmosphere and its great for drinks with a date, but I'll pass for now on with dinner.
Great service and food was amazing. Look forward to coming back!
Too cold, too loud and food was just ok
First time here and will definitely go back. We were greeted by the manager (Garth) who gave us a tour of the restaurant before seating us, then he returned multiple times to check on us and ensure we were enjoying our experience. We ordered the pork chops, shrimp & grits and brussel sprouts and everything was fabulous. The pork chop was, literally, the largest I've ever eaten and it was cooked to perfection. Adding the andouille sausage to the shrimp and grits gave the meal a little spice. The wine Garth recommended was the perfect accompaniment to the meal as well. We arrive early (5:45) and the restaurant proceeded to get very busy, but not so noisy that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Overall a really nice experience and great food.

Dinner and service was great our waitress did a fantastic job.
Fantastic food, service, ambience. We need to go here more often.
Food was great as always. Usually services is spot on but this particular day we had a day dreamer keeping our water glasses full. We still had a blast and will return again.
We had a great time. Service was excellent!
One of our favorite spots. The pork chop is out of this world!
Lovely brunch. Waitress was really helpful and funny. Food was good overall. Amazing hash browns and shrimp and grits. Average eggs Benedict.
We were a few minutes late for reservation so seated near bar which was a bit loud but food and service completely worth it!
It was odd that we were seated outside. Yes they had heaters, but people couldn’t even take their jackets off while eating.
Oysters were great as usual; their special that night was 'pumpkin swordfish' which we never would have thought about ordering until it was pushed by the waiter - and he was right! Always great food and wine list...
Poor service, average cocktails, average food, major disappointment!
We’ve been to Urban Grub many times. We had great food; however, the service we received was not normal. We had a service team and had to repeat our order several times, also, we had to wait almost 15 minutes to receive water.
By far our favorite day night location in Nashville.
Urban Grub reliably has excellent food and service. We have eaten there many times and have never been disappointed.
I had the pasta carbonara and there was a chicken bone in it. I told the waiter and he did nothing about it and instead said, “at least it wasn’t little piece of bone! Want a box?” Super disheartening. I’ve always loved urban grub but the service and unfortunate food mishap made me not ever want to go back.
Fun, great food, attentive service....specials were delightful
The food and restaurant was awesome, but it is a little pricey. Would definitely recommend it.
