Kaskaid Hospitality has been credited with bringing dining in the Twin Cities to new heights, and UNION Rooftop is the crown jewel in its latest unveiling of unique hospitality concepts. Painstaking attention was paid to every detail, from restoring the building’s original architectural treasures to installing the one-of-a-kind retractable rooftop. UNION has engaged a talented culinary team that holds themselves to the highest standards, ensuring every dish is special, surprising, and cohesive. We have created a menu that can be experienced in just the right proportions, from an elegant snack before the theater, to a celebratory 5-course tasting menu featuring ingredients that change daily.

The food was NOT good. Paid $16 for a pancake souffle... it was 3 pancakes that look like they were made 5 hours previously with 4 blackberries on top. :( My group of friends and I were so excited, but the food wasn't any good. Good for a good day drinking place though!
Hi Madeline, We set high standards for our quality and I sincerely apologize we let you down. Will you please email me at your earliest convenience so I can personally help resolve the issue for you?
Food was pretty good. Large portions. Very loud. DJ was good, just too loud to hold a conversation. Service was excellent. Mostly a 20-something crowd.
We went here for Valentine’s Day dinner and it was wonderful. Making a reservation was super easy and quick. Once we got to the restaurant, we were greeted with nice and friendly hostesses. Our table was available right away and the food came out quick and it was super tasty. The atmosphere was so romantic and everything I wanted. I will definitely book again for brunch and lunch. Love it!!
I loved my experience at the UNION Rooftop! They accommodated for me and my girlfriend by setting another table next to us when our single table was crowded with plates. Our host was very polite and provided great commentary about my surprise champagne for my girlfriend! Our server was also amazing! He kept our champagne glasses topped off and continually checked in on us despite how busy it was! The bussers were also very prompt in clearing off empty plates from our table! We both loved the experience very much and look forward to coming back again! I hope to one day be able to bring both our parents to eat here so they can enjoy it too!
Wrong food came out. Was fixed in a timely matter. Steak was extremely tough and nearly inedible. Ambiance was great. Love this place just wasn’t the experience I was hoping for on Valentine’s Day.
Awesome experience and dinner with great food and ambience.
Great food and service!
An amazing dining experience. Beautiful view, perfect service and fabulous food and drinks
Food was great, just don't sit by the window is winter, because it is quite drafty! Also a bit loud overall, but that did not detract much from the experience.
Loved the view and the staff was good. Music was a bit loud and the food was pricey. Would go again and would recommend a friend to it.
What a fun place to have a meal. We got a table along the window and were able to see the skyline and the street below. The service was very quick and the food was delicious.
Not much for gluten free and dairy sensitive. Ended up with a burger and fries. The fries were over cooked and barely warm. I was there with a group and I think the overall consensus was it was good, but pricey for what we got.
For the price, I should be wowed by the food. The scallop and shrimp appetizers were excellent, but the flatbreads and Ahi Tuna were just ok. Our server was awesome though ;-)
It was very cold in there. It was 0 degrees outside, so I’m sure it was hard to heat. Everyone kept there jackets on while dining
While I love the rooftop, it was extremely cold with the weather. They should consider more heat upstairs.
Also the food was just okay and I paid $62 for my bill with one plate and one drink. Service was good, but wouldn’t come back for that price unless the quality is better.
Our waiter, I forget her name. I think it was Erica? She was amazing, very professional, and positive. Great advice on choosing what to eat. Highly recommend it.
The food was delicious, however the server seemed either overwhelmed or inattentive. Another server had to come over to wait on us periodically during the meal. I knew he wasn't going to get credit for that, so we made sure he got an extra tip from us too.
Great NYE dinner!! Food and waiter were amazing!! Lived the Minneapolis lights. It was a bit noisy when the place got full and tables are a little close together it not a huge deal
We went for Sunday brunch on the rooftop and they had a DJ which is cool however the music was so insanely loud that you literally couldn’t hear the person sitting across from you and we were 1/2-3/4 of the way back from the DJ. I understand wanting to make it upbeat and fun and it being on the loud side but people go to brunch to laugh and socialize with each other but you absolutely couldn’t do that. I brought guests from out of town because I wanted to do something for them that they wouldn’t normally be able to do at home and it ended with us moving downstairs ordering breakfast like you can do anywhere else for less money. Seriously just turn down the music to a level that people can enjoy each other and it would be completely fine.
Way too loud. Food was cold and not very memorable. Best part of the experience was the drunk guy dancing to the DJ.
Just cold on the rooftop, but it’s beautiful and has great music.
Food was good, and service was nice. However the rooftop was extremely drafty. We were seated near the windows (great view) but left in less than an hour because we were freezing eating dinner in our jackets and scarves.
In the winter, it's too cold. They should add some heaters as it's not as enjoyable to eat with your coat on. And I get it - it's Minnesota in the winter, but still.
i loved the staff!!
New menu, much more expensive with less choices
Everything was great. It could have been warmer. Our feet got cold by the end. Maybe food a bit hotter but was a very nice experience.
Beautiful space with a gorgeous view. It was a bit chilly though as it was only 20 degrees out. Make sure to dress warmly if you go during the winter. The food, service and ambience were all fantastic! Great place to go before the theatre.
There was a mixup with our reservation but they went above and beyond to accommodate us. I would definitely go back based on how they took the time to make sure we had a great experience after the mixup.
Went here with my mom for dinner before going to a show. The restaurant was freezing and most guests ate in coats and hats. The meal was good, but it would've been nice if they had told people ahead of time or brought out heat lamps.
The staff were wonderful, particularly because the heat in the level below was not working. This made the rooftop quite cold. If not for the warmth of the staff (and a wonderful beverage), and the propane heaters they brought in, the meal might have been a bust.
It was way too expensive for what it is worth. I paid a total of $20 for the French toast. I was still hungry after I ate. The portions are small and don’t taste that great. Service wasn’t the best either. Also didn’t do anything for the birthday in our group.
Slow service, they seemed confused and annoyed at having to work. Nice rooftop in the winter, but nothing makes this a place I’d go back to. I wouldn’t recommend it.
We made a reservation for 6:15 pm. We were going to an 8 pm concert. We did not get a table until 6:30. Our table was next to the windows. It was so cold we had to wrap up in our jackets. We ordered Manhattan steaks which were filled with gristle. Our server was great and management took one steak off our bill. We don't plan to go back.
Good before the show dining venue.
It's a really unique place to eat when you sit up in the rooftop level. Friendly servers and a pretty solid menu. My wife and I went there for a Sunday brunch where the restaurant had a DJ spinning music. It was a tad too loud for our taste. Kind of wish we sat on the main floor where it was much quieter.
Service was great. Food was mediocre, music was too load - difficult to chat. Probably would not return.
