Kaskaid Hospitality has been credited with bringing dining in the Twin Cities to new heights, and UNION Rooftop is the crown jewel in its latest unveiling of unique hospitality concepts. Painstaking attention was paid to every detail, from restoring the building’s original architectural treasures to installing the one-of-a-kind retractable rooftop. UNION has engaged a talented culinary team that holds themselves to the highest standards, ensuring every dish is special, surprising, and cohesive. We have created a menu that can be experienced in just the right proportions, from an elegant snack before the theater, to a celebratory 5-course tasting menu featuring ingredients that change daily.

Sunday Brunch on our way out of town. DJ, super loud with a very energetic vibe. If you were looking for a low key place, this ain’t it. View was ok, but not as good as I thought it would be. Service was outstanding!! Food was super yummy!!
Brunch for a group of 8 people.
At least 3 of the meals were less than hot. We also got a wine glass with a nice lipstick print on it.
Just so you know. We will be back.
It was wonderful thank you
We planned a date night weeks in advance to visit Rooftop before a show. Arrived at an odd reception line at the door to learn that the entire venue had been reserved for some company's function that night, but no one had let us know our reservation wouldn't be honored. The restaurant manager stepped in to arrange a reservation at Crave a block away where we were comped a great meal. Their customer service to resolve a rough situation was much appreciated, but not sure we'd risk reserving a table at Rooftop again.
Service great, food great. Restaurant does not look like photo online. Disappointing. Music was way way way too loud and majorly annoying. Server couldn’t even hear us and to try to make conversation at the table with each other was not going to happen. Not a good atmosphere for Sunday morning brunch. Friday or Saturday at the club, yes, but not for brunch. We won’t be back.
Cool site with glass retractable roof. We did have to wait while manager borrowed a high chair from a nearby restaurant. ( I guess they only have one and we needed two). We had Sunday brunch and it was great food with a dj spinning at Sunday brunch. We loved that but some guests did not.
Seated immediately and service was prompt and attentive. City views with an open airy feel, while protected from the chilly temps outdoors! Food was amazing...cajun crabby eggs benedict was perfection. Not sure what time the entertainment started...DJ appeared to be setting up as we were leaving. Perfect venue for family brunch or reconnecting with an old friend. Highly recommend making a reservation for Sunday Brunch!
It was a bit chilly in the restaurant and our server took awhile to fill our glasses and did not check back often. It was not incredibly busy. The food was okay.
Dinner before concert with my daughter. Food is so good. We sat by an outside window so it was a little cool. Lots of people there having a good time.
When we arrived for our reservation the kitchen was closed.
I made our reservations through Open Tsble several weeks in advance and after speaking to someone at Union Rooftop. The day before I received an email with the managers nsme confirming our reservations. 3 hours before the reservation I received a call from the restaurant saying they were booked for a private event and canceling our reservations. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told he was busy.
First time on the rooftop for dinner. It was great! Felt special and our server was outstanding.
The rooftop is a very cool area. I went with a group of eight women and we had a great time. Some people liked their food and some people didn’t. I’d stay away from the stirfry. I had sirloin and it was delicious.
My walleye entree arrived 10 minutes after the other three arrived. The fish was so undercooked that I could not cut it with my fork. I could not see it since the restaurant is too dark. I sent it back and asked the waitress what I could get quickly since everyone else was done eating. I settled on chicken wings that were ok. Someone came to the table and said the chef agrees the fish was underdone (raw). Really! The bill came and I was not billed for the fish but was for the wings. I was more than fair with the waitress but don’t think the restaurant handled this well. I won’t be returning.
Waaaay too loud. Food was pretty much hot or miss with the table. Waiter only refilled coffee once and was generally not friendly. I wish it was a better experience because I really wanted to like this place.
The music was too loud -- could barely hold a conversation. The food was overpriced and not very good. I ordered a hot tea, but it was lukewarm to cool when they finally brought it to me. Not worth the money.
We really enjoyed both the food and atmosphere here. It was a balmy late October evening and it was lovely eating under an open sky with the twinkling lights of the city as a backdrop. The food was delicious. My husband especially loved the roasted chicken dish. Service was gracious but a little slow.
Food & drinks were good, but quite expensive. I enjoyed the loud dj but my friends thought it was too loud to have a conversation.
Food was amazing server was great! Music was just a bit loud however we forgot it was pre Vikings
Favorite brunch place!! EVERYTHING IS GOOD!! Food, drinks, music!!
We had so much fun for my birthday. The ambiance was perfect!
The food was awesome! It was a bit cold by the window and very loud but great service except didn’t refill water.
We always have a great time at Union Rooftop and the best service. Would highly recommend it to anyone!
I loved sitting on the rooftop and watching the moon while we ate our dinner. The service was incredible—both quick and friendly. I look forward to dining here again in the future!
Waitress didn’t really know the details of the menu. What type of bedding on the fish and chips. Food was just ok.
We went to Union Rooftop to celebrate our Anniversary and have dinner prior to going to Theatre to see “Mean Girls. “. We started with cocktails and thought the drinks we tried were very good. Ordered Calamari, but were disappointed that the portion was small and contaied more peppers than Calamari. Would not order again. One in our pArty orders Carpaccio and Roasted Brussel Sprouts. Both were good size portions and tasty. Another had the Salmon which she enjoyed. She liked the presentation and inclusion of cous-cous. I had Chicken Cordon Bleu which was delicious and large in proportions. We were stuffed, and had to take home the leftovers. No room for deserts.
Overall food was very good, but nothing registered as outstanding.
Too loud I appreciate that you are trying to build an atmosphere but when you can't hear your brunch companion it is too much.
The scallop appetizer were amazing
We have eaten here before, and most likely will eat here again. Not as impressed with the food as I have been in the past, but there is a decent number of vegetarian options. Their impossible bacon cheeseburger is good but small, making it overpriced.
The food was okay in flavor but it was very uncomfortable
Very nice! Great service and good food! Loved the rooftop atmosphere!!
This place has amazing food and very nice servers with a lot of knowledge. The place it self was beautiful, and setting of lights was perfect.
Turned out to be a very hot day but Gregory kept the cold beverages coming. Service was excellent.
Food was really good. The outdoor patio was super pretty and the views were amazing. The only thing that I didn't like was that we had reservations at 10:15am, we ordered a single mimosa yet later on when our drinks were half gone, the waitress came and refilled them even though we didn't order the bottomless mimosas without us asking. Then she charged us for bottomless mimosas which is double the price of just 1 mimosa and we didn't even get 2 full drinks. I was not very pleased with this.
This was a great spot to pop in, watch the game and eat on the rooftop. It feels fancy but you don't need to be dressed that way. The food was amazing and the service was awesome too - I would definitely return here next time I'm in town!
We went there for my husbands birthday and were thrilled with the results. Recommendations from the waiter were knowledgeable and spot on. The roof did leak a bit on my husband, although it wasn't raining so that was s bit odd. But all in all, we will most certainly come back for special occasions.
Shrimp avocado toast appetizer was amazing. However, the salads and brussel sprouts were subpar. Very disappointing.
The place was bustling with people geared up for the football game. It was very, very loud and there was a man at the bar who was disruptive and yelling some very profane phrases the entire time we were there. I couldn’t hear my significant other at all. We ended up skipping ordering dinner and just finished our drinks and left before ordering food because it was so disruptive. Other guests were also visibly upset by this man and no staff seemed to be addressing the issue.
I went for dinner on September 7 for my birthday. I would have enjoyed it better if they hadn’t had an outdoor reserved area for a group of very loud, with one very intoxicated man yelling. Had I known they would be there I would have gone else where.
Our waitress Molly was amazing and took the time to answer all our questions and was so engaging! The food was amazing, cooked to perfection!
