Me and my husband ate dinner there for Valentine’s Day and made reservations. Our server Matthew was absolutely amazing! The biggest problem is I ordered the sirloin steak and requested it medium well. The first time it was brought to the table. It was medium rare. I asked them to re-fire it, and it came back Over done, almost burnt. Matthew was very kind and getting me a new steak but then that one came to the table medium rare as well. I went and spoke to the expediter, since they are in charge of making sure the correct food goes out and I talk to the floor manager, Kayla. She was extremely unprofessional, rude and dismissive. She had a horrible attitude and just kept saying well. I don’t know what you want. I kept telling her I just wanted my steak cooked medium well, which means slightly pink in the center. Due to her attitude and taking no accountability and just dismissing what I wanted, I just walked away. I couldn’t even finish my meal and ended up just having a boxed up to take home. Matthew was awesome but I think Kayla as a manager needs some training on her customer service skills and listening.

This was our first time, the food was amazing and service was amazing. Braxton was very attentive. We made reservations to ensure we had a table, unfortunately our table was right by the entrance which was cold. There are double doors to help eliminate this issue; however, the doors closest to the tables would get stuck open which made our table very cold. I asked on at least 3 occasions to close the door. I would definitely visit again but asked for a different table away from the door.

This is the second time I've been to Union 50 and my experience this go round was just okay. Our server hovered and checked on us too often and the food was mid. We rather enjoyed our charcuterie board, but our main dishes primarily tasted of liquid smoke. We ordered the pork chop. The presentation was beautiful, but under-seasoned and quite fatty. Plus, there was a little too much going on on the plate. We also intended on going with cocktails, but all the cocktails on the specials list were a little too artisan. I would have liked to have seen more traditional stapes (with a twist) in addition to speciality curated cocktails. Sometimes less is more. I'd rate this experience as a 5.5/10. It wasn't a bad experience, but I likely won't dine at Union 50 again.

Interesting menu. We enjoyed gnocchi and Poutein. Good size portions and left stiffed. No room for dessert

We had dinner there before an event during Devour. The server asked about our timeframe and was careful to make sure our meal was served in time to get us where we needed to go. Our visit was during Devour which provided some very special options. We are from the area and had guests from out of town. It was a special treat to “show off“ a really nice restaurant and enjoy a special evening out. Thank you so much.

Union 50 never disappoints, but the devour menu is an impressive meal. Dollar for dollar, there is not a better meal in Indy.
