What Insiders Are Saying
An adventurous Japanese restaurant we love so much we'd consider buying property nearby.
As always this place is amazing - the food was great - saki was amazing . And the service was stellar - we go here once a month and it never gets old
I asked a few friends where to eat in Austin and they ALL said Uchi. So we had to try it and they were not wrong. Amazing flavors that you would not normally see together on a menu but create an sensational taste experience. Definitely NOT your average sushi place, so GO and try new things! We share everything and the items I wasn't so sure about were exceptional (yellowtail roll and blistered peppers) along with the items was couldn't wait to try (spring rolls, branzino, mushroom hot plate, edamame, tuna sushi) because the combo of the flavors including sauce was beyond imagination. Also: Service was impeccable. Wish I lived closer so I could experience it again and again!
The most amazing culinary experience you’ll ever have
Unreal. Great server.
The best sat at the sushi bar and really great food and service
From the last time we came, there is a difference. The sushi and sashimi were tiny, and a poor value. The best thing we had was the mushroom rice which was insanely delicious and worth coming back for alone. We will come back for that, but not the sushi. Uchiko is a better bet.
Absolute blast at Uchi! Everything was phenomenal!!
Top 3 meals I have ever had in my lifetime!!! Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. The food was so creative! Every single bite I took, my mouth was doing a happy dance. John who was our waiter was the most friendly, informative, fun gentleman I have ever been served by. I will NEVER go back without making sure he serves our table. It is very expensive but worth every single penny. This is a place we will continue to come for special occasions....its that special. Thank you for your creations and service..keep it up. We will 100% be back.
Excellent food! Server was a little pushy and didn't really listen to what we wanted but pushed his own opinion, but overall great experience. Being from LA I'm picky about my sushi, but this place definitely delivered!
Excellent all around from the food to the waitstaff. Food was fresh and excellently prepared. Waitstaff explained your dish expertly in detail. Brought each course out right on time. Definitely a must to dine at.
Always has a creative menu. Food is delicious. Experienced, friendly staff.
The cooks are excellent! Each piece has an unique taste. With the use of fresh fruit, dried fruit, ponzu, miso, lemon grass, and simply sea salt to the proper extend, each bite creates a small piece of symphony in the mouth. Not only by the great tastes of wagyu, toro, yellowtail, caviar, and truffles, even the simplest, like eggplant, changed my perception of the materials.
Great experience, thank you so much for the best time.
Never disappoints! You can always count on innovative yet delicious flavor combinations.
It was fabulous! We had a great anniversary dinner.
This was one of our best dining experiences ever. Our waiter was exceptional - so knowledgeable and friendly. Her recommendations were perfect.
Many thanks to my awesome server, Jessica, and the rest of the team at Uchi! Once again, you provided outstanding service of the most delicious food in Austin....in Texas...and possibly, the country. Can't wait to come back!
It's definitely a lively girls' night out type of place. It was too loud for a romantic evening without kids for us. The food was creative and beautiful. Tapas like portions so we ordered a lot of dishes and ended up spending more than we planned. I would go again with friends perhaps.
Amazing food and service! We were in Austin and this was highly recommended to us. So happy to find out that Denver just got one also!
Excellent food and service. Mandy was our waitress and she was as cool as the backside of your pillow.
The quality level of the food was excellent and the preparation was delicious. Service was perfect.
Great food and excellent service. We pretty much let our server decide what we would eat and his choices were excellent.
We spent our 35th wedding anniversary celebration at UCHI. It was out first experience here and we loved it! Our server was super helpful, making really top notch recommendations. The overall service was excellent and the food was really yummy! We'll be back!
We ordered tempura and sashimi and we asked to bring tempura first.
They brought tempura after ten minutes(it was not bad because there were so many people there), but we were waiting for 40minutes for next dishes, sashimi. Our server noticed this situation and she explained what happend for our dished without apologies. They explained our disched got to other table. Nobody didn’t tell us that I am so sorry or I apologize. They gave us 25% off discount due to inconvinience, but what we really want was to listen your apology.
Everything was amazing! From the food to the service it was a truly wonderful experience!
Best Sushi in Texas - Mandy took incredible care of us - not much else to say.
BEST RESTAURANT ON THE PLANET!!! The food is beyond delicious and thoughtfully created, the service is unparalleled, everyone needs Uchi!
Uchi has been spectacular in every way, every time I’ve ever gone and this time was no exception!
Uchi is one of the best sushi places in the U.S. The chef’s are creative. The fish is amazing. The staff is friendly and will work with you. I generally tell the chef rough guidelines of what I want and always get amazing food.
Consistently great. Top notch dining experience that never ceases to impress.
Best sushi ever.
We had six course omakasi. Highly recommended for the undecided! Very accommodating for vegan and omnivore at same table. From the saki recommendation to the dessert finish, each tasting was a spellbinding adventure: an exotic experience of the highest quality. A meal for making lasting memories.
I wasn't disappointed with my first time dining at Uchi. I can see what the hype is all about. Everything from the service and ambience to the creative dishes was superb. I can not wait to go back again and try the 10 course tasting menu.
Another perfect meal. Jodi was the absolute best server with spot on recommendations. Jess greeted us and made us feel special and most welcomed. It was awesome!!!!
I have to say that I was a little disappointing. Tried the chef's tasting menu which has always been a win when I've gone for it at other restaurants, but this was was pretty hit or miss. A few sensational dishes AND a few duds where the experimental flavor combos and/or textures really did not work. Still a fun night out and maybe I would have been better off just ordering off the menu, but I was surprised to have multiple dishes that were just so so given the price and the reputation of the restaurant.
Spectacular food. Although there could be more emphasis placed on pairing, we had no trouble finding spectacular wine for our spectacular food. What a wonderful experience that night was.
Food & service is amazing! Like most good restaurants, it’s pretty loud.
The delicacy and freshness of seafood was tops, incredible tasting sushi for sure. The price per bite is extravagant, so this place isn’t for the faint of heart, nor is it something most people can afford more than once a year. We were still hungry after eating $260 worth of bites, so again, not for the faint of heart or budget monitoring folks. The Service was excellent and incredibly attentive without being interruptive to our conversation. Highly recommend for one of the absolute best sushi places ever.
Terrible service ruined our dinner. This restaurant used to be great, but has significantly deteriorated . Waitress had a terrible attitude and the service was very slow and unprofessional.
