Twisted Vine Bistro
pan seared, paired with a small salad, and chefs vegetable
grilled eight ounce filet, yukon gold mashed, tomato jam, demi glaze, chef veg
Everything met or exceeded my expectations. Live jazz with endless mimosas and a tasty brunch ... can’t improve that.
Nice ambiance, great salad and sangria and friendly, prompt service.
2nd visit and just as nice. Food served quickly and was nice. Service mostly quick and attentive. Pleasant evening.
Food was great. A bit pricey. Service was slow and waitress was visibly frazzled.
great combination of excellent food, good coffee, ambiance and location. Servers are very accomodating even if a crowd stretches their capacity to do what they would like to do - "in season".
We'll be back often,
Our waiter Jim, did everything wrong. He made us wait 10 minutes before an initial approach, made us wait another 15 minutes for our cocktails and they were the wrong ones, didn't serve bread initially and when he did it wasn't baked, never brought a steak knife altho I ordered steak and repeatedly asked for ones and never brought catsup altho I asked for it for my french fries. The only reasons we didn't walk out was because we were hungry, love the food at Twisted Vine, and generally the wait service. We did call the acting manager to our table, and she indicated that he should not have been working the dinner shift because he was a trainee but she didn't offer to "make us whole again" by at least offering to pay for our cocktails. We frequent the Twisted Vine whenever in town for the theater or when we have company. It's doubtful however, we'll ever return.
We had a new waiter who could not remember what was ordered, beverages never came until asked a number of times, the order of food delivered to table was incorrect. We have been here a number of times and this was the first time we were totally turned off. We will think twice about ever returning. So sad as the food was delicious (as it always has been).
Twisted Vine has an outstanding wine list, which was the reason that we chose to bring our wine snob friends here. I gave myself the night off from my 3 month keto diet and had their version of cioppino....it was wonderful. This place serves a generous martini, mixed perfectly to specifications, and it has an attentive staff. If this site could give 4-1/2 stars, that is where I would put Twisted Vines. Nice clean, pretty space with a lot of good things happening here.
The food was exceptional - the service (William) was fantastic - music was great! Can’t wait to go back!
Our first visit, but not the last. Drinks and dinner before a show and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was great, our food was excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Really busy on a Friday night but we had reservations, we had a great table by the window so could people watch. Looking forward to our next visit.
Opening Night at Florida Rep Theatre!
we went for dinner before a show. Food was very good. our server was attentive and changed out a wine glass for me that had fingerprints all over it. we had the flourless chocolate cake, and it was not good. too dense and hard. creme brûlée was okay.
Meeting College friends
While we were 30 minutes late in being seated, once we were seated the service was superb and the service recovery for the wait was outstanding. We learned a part of the issue on the wait was caused by a group who had reservations for 10 with a special menu and showed up with 20 people instead. We would definitely return and I would expect the chaos which seemed evident when we arrived would in most cases be mitigated greatly or no existent.
Food was good, in fact excellent however service was slow. no reflection on wait staff but it took over an hour for entree to arrive. Very noisy!
Our experience was most positive. Our dinners were delicious, service and ambiance great. Our waitress Rachel was most helpful with questions regarding the menu choices and we were never rushed. We will be back ASAP. Maria
Had dinner for two early on a Thursday night. Food was delicious and great service. Ordered a few moderately priced glasses of wine with our meals and were happily surprised at the quality given the price. Will definitely return to the Twisted Vine.
FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AT BEST.MENS BATHROOM WAS LITTERED WITH PAPER TOWELS.VERY UNSANITARY!!
A lovely first-time experience. Warm, intimate surroundings. Great jazz guitarist..perfect for the room. Outstanding ambience, food to match.
I would recommend Twisted Vine to others. It's always a nice experience every time I've gone. I suggest asking for a table away from the musician as it makes it difficult to have a conversation.
We enjoyed our time at Twisted Vine for Valentine's day! It was a perfect, romantic setting in the outside courtyard. I had the crab cakes and they were the best I have ever had! They melted in my mouth!! My husband had the filet. He thought it could have been warmer and a bit more done, but he liked the flavor. We also had a glass of Riesling - and I think we found a new winery we like!! There is a great selection of wines, albeit a bit on the pricey side for a glass. My only suggestion is that the server who brings out the dishes do 2 things: offer cracked pepper (we had to wait for our waitress to come back and offer it) and also wait until the customer has cut into their steak to see if it is prepared properly. All in all, it was a great experience!!
We had reservation on open table at 1pm for a group if 5 with an additional high chair- our table was not ready. We were offered a 4 top , then a high top that would not work with a high chair. We were finally seated after 15 minutes, given water and didn’t see our server until 2pm.
What awful service. The door to the outside was open so we could hardly hear over construction noise.
Poor table planning. This used to be a favorite restaurant. It was embarrassing to have out of town guests subjected to this. It eliminated any shopping time we looked forward to.
we sat at the bar as our reservation appeared to mean you get the next available table. The fish was small and forgetful and our short rib was dry.
I rarely write a negative review, but I can’t resist. I’ll start with the positives: Service was great. Fabulous wine list and really creative and tasty salads. But the snapper was so fishy smelling and tasting that I actually turned it over to check for skin. The side of polenta was drowning in oil. The key lime pie I received on the house to make up for the main dish was mediocre at best.
The seafood was great! We had the scallops and salmon!!
Very noisy. We were jammed into a spacethat if we wanted to get out, diners at another table had to move. If there was an emergency we couldn’t have gotten out.
. I ordered mushroom stuffed chicken and there were no mushrooms. We won’t be going back.
Love the decor. Experience was fine, but restaurant not firing on all cylinders. Ordered a Caesar salad to start and a green salad was brought. Server happily replaced though. Server then brought main courses, without clearing off starter plates first. My wife ordered truffle fries with her main, but regular fries were brought, which were then exchanged. My wife’s burger was way under cooked, not even medium rare, So that had to be sent back too. Led Zepplin, and other mood music played…
Fiftieth anniversary dinner. Seated on our choice - back patio.
Unfortunately, it was a series of disappointments with the only egregious failure the fact that it took 55 minutes to get our first drink. The excuse was that they were overloaded with guests. However, adding to the disappointments were: lack of utensils after dinner was served; mediocre food for price; the lights on the patio were out and an electrician was working on them on a ladder near our table; groups of people were walking into the patio and next to our table to go inside to the bar nightclub attached; table was too big for our party of four and was not set for us; waitress was literally running back and forth with nervous excuses for both slow service AND her rushing.
All the smaller disappointments would not have been so bad had we not been sitting waiting for our first drink for almost one hour at an unreasonably unset table. Then the last failure was that I was served my second martini, finally, at the end of the meal with an exceedingly hot chili in it instead of a pimento in the olive.
They did give a signed card to the anniversary couple we were treating. By then, I was just so embarrassed about all of it. We did laugh all the way home.
Terrrible experience. We had a 7:30 reservation. At 7:50, we tried to track down hostess to inquire about status. She was incredibly rude and condensing. Finally got a table. We ordered 3 bottles of wine and were told they were all out of stock. At no point, did waitress tell us, here are the Pinot noirs we have available, but rather it was order one, wait 15 minutes and then be told not available pick another. We ordered appetizers and then we told they were not available. Staff seemed annoyed that they were working there and had incredibly bad attitudes. Would never return and never recommend to anyone unless you want abuse from staff.
First they sat us outside (we requested outside) but the lights were out and it was very dark. I had to argue with the hostess to let me talk with the manager. The manager was polite and accommodating. (Bright spot of the evening). The service was very slow( I know it was a music walk night but this was extremely slow). When the food finally showed up it was cold. We usually have a good experience and food here but tonight was just bad. We brought friends down with us for their first experience of Twisted Vine. (We told them how good it was)They were not very pleased. I spent the night apologizing. Really to bad.
Had a good time. Liked it a lot.
As always, good food and service along with a little Jazz!
We had 7:30 reservations, there were many empty tables but still took 20 minutes to get seated. Our waitress was not on the same planet we were on.
It seemed as it was her first day on the job, we had to ask for normal setup items several times. I will not be rushing back and time soon.
Eating in the outdoor patio was superb and the ambiance quite nice. Always enjoy eating there.
Everything was very good
My husband and I were visiting from Canada and having a night out. This was by far the work experience I have had at a restaurant. First we had ordered a bottle of wine in which the one we chose the did not have three times till they finally had something and the waitress just said” we keep telling the owner to change the list” the appetizers were decent but our main course was awful! My chicken was raw and when returned the cook said it was cook when by the bone was completely raw. Rather than apologizing the server said the cook
Told me it takes 20 mins to cook and should be the middle temperature of the Chicken. Basically accusing me of lying. They took my meal and put the chicken back in the grill to the point it was so over cooked and could barely cute into it without a struggle.
Very good food and attentive service. A bit pricey, though.
The restaurant area had become an extension of the bar yet the food is not bar food as the prices are certainly not bar prices. Not a place to go for a nice dinner. Absolutely no “dress code” yet $38 entries. Food was very good when we got it. Not going back for a special dinner again. Too bad as it was a go to place for us for a date night or special meal.
Group of six women went after a matinee play. We like the atmosphere and you get a free glass of wine with your show ticket. Place was not crowded. It was a bit drizzly outside, so that might have been the reason.
Food was just okay. I had the seafood Mac & cheese. It was kind of dry and unremarkable (a friend also ordered and agreed). One of the specials was sea bass. Friend sent it back as lacking flavor and asked chef to pep it up. Came back better.
We were very pleased with the food and the service.
