Twin Owls Steakhouse at The Taharaa Mountain Lodge

For the past two decades, the Twin Owls Steakhouse has offered the premiere fine dining and event experience in the Estes Valley. Now, as we look forward to the next twenty years, we invite you to join us in our new home at the Taharaa Mountain Lodge, and to experience the best that Estes Park has to offer.
Our menu has been carefully crafted to please the entire family, and includes a broad selection of steaks, wild game and seafood, along with a kids’ menu and an irresistible dessert selection. We also offer an extensive wine list, local craft beers and hand-crafted cocktails.

A nicely spaced restaurant, the move has allowed twin owls to present a more intimate atmosphere. The guitar player was a nice addition. The service was attentive and kind. The food was a bit overpriced for the quality, and the sides were forgettable. Still, one of the better places to dine in Estes

Everything was superbly done! Congratulations to your chef for very fine prime rib. We could taste the rosemary and herbs yummy!

We had five for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was busy as expected. 4 of our dinners were very good. One wasn't great. She had a sirloin steak. She said it was chewy. She took home more than half of it. She tried to eat it again the next day. She said it was grisly. Our server was very good. The servers all seemed to be working together to help each other. I would definitely return in the future.

Our reservation was at 7:00. we were seated at 7;15. Our waitress, Beth, was pleasant and efficient. We ordered a filet and a new york steak. Both were ordered medium rare. they were both over cooked and very dry. On the well side of things actually. The cuts of beef were very chewy and not a good flavor at all. The entree came with no sides unless you paid an extra for the side. Generally each side dish ran 6-8 dollars. the side dishes were extremely small portions and were bland tasting. Creme brulee dessert was average at best. Except for the waitress this visit was a total disappointment from beginning to end. will not go back nor will would I recommend The Twin Owls.

I don't understand the hype. If this is the premier place to eat in estes they need some new places. The hostess started the evening off great. We were there 15 min before the reservation as requested, but the party was one person short. She told me they will have to make an adjustment. So apparently picking up utensils takes over 20 min. We weren't seated until at least ten min past the reservation time, all while watching 4-5 others come in and be seated immediately. After seated we waited another 10-15 min before a server even showed up, seeing other parties receive their drinks before us, after watching them be seated after us. The tea is horrid, I don't know what she put in it to turn it a milky brown but it was nasty. There were at least 5 broken dishes throughout the night. The few positives were the bison filet and the elk. The potatoes au gratin were undercooked. The side of mashed potatoes was out of an ice cream scoop with two chives on it. The crab was good as well. The appetizer was over $20 for three scallops. The cheesecake is very good as well. It is unfortunate how bad the dining experience was. Will never be back.

As for broken dishes, we had some new employees working over the holidays, so there may have been a few dishes mistakenly dropped.
