Dinner was exceptional! The wood fired pizzas were incredible and service didn’t miss a beat!
An excellent Italian restaurant in the Hyatt. We've gone there many times, but this visit was not outstanding. Our starters: Special beet salad and calamari were excellent and prepared perfectly. (The calamari were strips and not rings if that matters.)
Now, in the past we had ordered their NY Strip steak and it was wonderful. But not this time. We ordered med-rare+ and it came rare. The steak itself was stringy, and somewhat chewy. We were told that the restaurant went with a new supplier -- why?.
On the bright side our waitress was ideal. And if you get a table towards the bar/lounge area you will be graced with Fri and Sat live jazz during your meal.
We had expected to eat at TusCa, which was not serving lunch. Instead, we were seated in the lounge of the hotel and offered the TusCa and Lounge menus with mostly the same offerings. Food was fine. Burger was very heavily spiced and the spinach salad was definitely heavy on the cheese, dates and nuts and less on the spinach. Dressing was good. Our server was quite attentive. Before we return, however, we will be certain that the actual restaurant is open.
We have wonderful anniversary memories and we always enjoy the view of the golf course plus cocktails in the lobby by the fireplace prior to dinner.
We didn't find disabled parking near the front of the restaurant or walkway for a person using a cane. The steps up to the front made it slightly difficult.
Is there parking and another entrance?
Other than that issue, we were pleased with our food and window table.
Everything was very good including the service. Menu was a little limited though.
We were there for the Thanksgiving buffet. The food was great and the service was wonderful. However, the band was too loud to have conversation. If they hadn’t quit soon after we arrived, it would have ruined the entire meal. I loved the type of music they played - it was just way to loud.
Service was impeccable! Choices of food, temperatures and tastes were lovely. We completely enjoyed it and will return!

Tusca's understated elegance and typically corporate Hyatt ambiance might lead one to expect a certain level of cuisine, but that was not the case when my family dined there recently. I ordered the roast potato and New York steak entree (cooked medium), but suspected a problem before the first bite when the included broccoli florets arrived charred. I did sample one, to ensure it wasn't some Cajun treatment, but my original assessment was confirmed by the mushy texture and acrid flavor. Moving on, the potatoes were mostly cooked and completely devoid of seasoning, even salt. My sister helpfully suggested perhaps they wanted the guest to season them to taste. I didn't buy it.
I carved a bite off the generous sized NY steak,but Its depressing gray color, relieved only by the slightest hint of pink the size of a penny, in the center, indicated it was just shy of well-done. And the flavor? I would rank it between HomeTown Buffet and Sizzler.
But all was not lost. Our server, Sarah, was abaolutely delightful. She was helpful in making menu selections, warm and personable without being too chatty, did not hover and yet materialized at my elbow within moments of my wanting something. It was her suggestion I try the house red wine which turned out unexpectedly delicious. I believe it was a proprietary label of the Hyatt's that could hold its own against any of Napa's $40 cabs or Livermore's $30 zins. I'm uncertain if it was a cab, or a cab/zin blend, but I was certain I could have drunk it all nigbt with its lush up front fruitiness, and velvety smooth whole mouth feel. It was my salvation as it rehydrated my mouth after each dry bite of steak.
This was my 2nd visit, the 1st being a Thanksgiving buffet which I enjoyed immensely. So perhaps their chef was having an off-night - it happens to us all. I'll give Tusca a third try before I close my book on them. Hopefully, I will discover that my once in a blue moon birthday out was a once in a blue moon Tusca anomoly.
Breakfast buffet cost $25 per person. The eggs were mushy, the bacon was stiff, the potatoes undercooked.
Dinner was $75 per person (incl appetizer, 2 cocktails, 1 glass of wine, bottle water). Calamri and main course were very salty.
I'm giving them 2 stars only because the staff were very friendly, maybe a little pesty, but w/good intentions.
The mashed potatoes just don't get enough recognition. We had the strawberry and greens salad, chicken piccata (with the "should be famous" mashed potatoes) and the salmon on rice. All were very tasty and served up by a pleasant smile by Cami. Great job to the folks in the kitchen.
The food was atrocious. My Risotto was bland and my husband's steak was over cooked with no flavor. The salsa verde that came atop the steak had to flavor balance what so ever. The service provided by Sarah and Mark was excellent. We expressed our disappointment to Sarah and she immediately took both entrees off the bill. We did however really enjoy our calamari appetizer. We made sure she knew the service was amazing but the food was way below par.
woefully understaffed, only 2 waiters on we were visited by our waiter only 4 times from beginning to end. busser palming clean glasses with dirty hands and placing them on table. Chicken picatta was over cooked and under flavored. Yes, I let the manager know :) because it is a HD violation and just gross. Squid ink linguine was good but squid was overcooked and rubbery. Ciabatta bread was good.
Could have been much better with proper training and staffing
If you are staying at the Hyatt DelMonte the restaurant is convenient.
Meals are average.
No standout items for dinner.
Breakfast buffet is good.
Service is great!
