Wonderful steakhouse in Salina, Kansas. Everyone has to have a Kansas steak while there.
Fantastic experience, food was fantastic, wait staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were great.
Tucson's Steakhouse is an average restaurant in a city (Salina) of average to below average restaurants. The service was its most positive feature. The salmon dish I ordered was overcooked. The steamed broccoli would have benefited from some pan frying in olive oil with garlic and some red pepper flakes for added zip. Overall its a good value, but the food could be improved.
When I walked in I said, "Did you get my e-mail." and she said,"Yes for Debbie." I said,"Yes." Then she seated us and 5 minutes later another girl came to seat 2 people we did not know at the end of our table, I said, "Excuse me, we have people sitting there." So they left . About 10 minutes later that man came over saying we took his table. There was more words than that but that was the gist of it. I didn't know if he was going to fight us or what.
We had eaten here a few years ago while on a cross-country trip so decided to return when we found ourselves back in Salina for a couple of days. The meats were delicious and we enjoyed two good beers brewed in Kansas. The sides were so-so and the service was not great considering there weren't that many people there. All in all, it was just ok.
We eat there weekly. Our 2 favorite appetizers have been removed from the menu.
#1 by far: Mushroom Skewers
#2 spin dip
We replaced mushrooms with chicken fried steak bites:-((
Blue cheese Pineapple dip is just weird.
70% breading that was way too salty on 30% tough, gristly “scrap meat”.
Cooked in old sour grease. We won’t have that again.
With as many new eating establishments coming into Salina, these changes were mostly negative impacts on our visit.
After reading other reviews, we anticipated enjoying a great meal at a great steakhouse. Because we had reservations, we were seated immediately even though there was a wait in the lobby. That was about the only good experience of the entire meal. The food was mediocre at best. My wife's order was completely cold and had to be re-fires. She had the pleasure of eating her meal well after everyone else at the table was finished.
Prices were reasonable for what you receive. But to be sure, this is no fine steakhouse or dining experience. Looked to be a remodeled former Outback Steakhouse from the decor. The food was about the same as going to an Outback.
We were just passing through town and staying over night. Needless to say, we would not go out of our way to ever visit here again.
The steak was fantastic. The salad was cafeteria quality. The vegetable cabobs were cold and raw. The server was far less than thrilled to be of service.
Easy to find. Reasonable parking and access.
Good food as described in the menu!
The place was packed when we arrived with at least 20 people waiting. We had made reservations and were seated on time in a booth as requested. Service was outstanding, food was good and our evening was lots of fun.
If you are looking for great food with great service at a great place; this is it.
We have never been disappointed at Tuscan's!
My steak, salad and sweet potato were excellent. My husband’s chicken fried steak was delicious. However, his green beans were terrible and the fries were mediocre.
An excellent experience. ....always is!
had a very good waitress only problem was a mix up between chicken fried chicken and chicken fried steak
The service and food were excellent. Everyone in our group enjoyed the gathering.
The steak was so overdone that was very hard to eat. Server was new and unprepared to make recommendation on the type of stake even though it is a stake house.
I will not eat there again.
Wonderful as always! Great food! Great service! Love the shiraz and ribs!
Steak was a little over cooked but everything else was great
Service was good, as was the food. Looks like the locals love it. Was told we were fortunate to have reservations, as they were very busy.
Our service was top notch! The menu choices and food quality keep us coming back.
The service was fine, ambiance what you would expect my husbands steak was inedible. We think the wrong item was served. It was replaced by the correct steak but by then I was finished with my dinner and sat while he ate.
I would say this restaurant is nothing special. Fine if it’s your only choice
It's just the best Salina has to offer. 20+ years serving great food with excellent servers and overall service. Good menu with frequent new offers.
My wife and I drove from Wichita to dine at Tuscon's and were very disappointed in the quality of the food. I had prime rib and it was at least half gristle and fat. My wife had Salmon and it was very dry. Also, when my prime rib arrived it looked like an 8 or 10 oz. piece of meat instead of the 14 oz they had on the menu....The waiter asked how the food was and I asked him to look at the part I couldn't eat and he said he'd talk to the manager. That's the last we heard regarding the terrible prime rib and not much better Salmon!! Needless to say, we'll not eat there again and I'm sure they couldn't care less. Unfortunately a very expensive meal, especially driving from Wichita to specifically dine at Tuscon's!!
Best steaks in town! Great variety of sides. Excellent service.
We used Open Table for the first time and we were seated within 5 minutes of our arrival and reservation time. We hope it's always that easy.
We always have great service and great food. They really treat you right!
The food was something that you might go to Sam's Club and buy and warm up in the oven at home yourself no good taste at all my cheesy corn was cold my mashed potatoes were lukewarm the bread was awful had no taste to it the only good thing was too sweet tea the waitress had no personality
Food was generic and unimpressive. "Loaded" mashed potato was a burnt pile of some kind of potato with no ingredients loaded on it at all. Smoked meats were not worth, and neither was the loaded chicken.
Go for happy hour deals as drafts were fine and apps would be ok at half price.
We met another couple for dinner. Our reservation with special requests was accurate and right on time. Food is average for a bar & grill. Portion sizes are good, a little pricey but it's locally owned and managed so we're willing to pay extra.
My two friends both ordered the chipotle shrimp from the summer menu. The shrimp was nasty. It was tough and tasteless. My friend brought this to the attention of the waiter, Vincent and told the kitchen I guess. Other than that he made no mention of replacing her meal, getting her something else to eat, money off NOTHING. What gives?? Don't you want customers to be happy and come back. It just made for an unpleasant experience for me as I was celebrating my birthday.
Great food and service! It always is a perfect experience!
Tucson's is a great place to dine in Salina, KS. The food has always been great when my family has eaten there! We love it and I would recommend them for any occasion!
Very good food prepared very well with excellent service! Everything is always top quality!
This was our second time here. Great spot. Service was just OK
The food and service were excellent, although I would like to see more vegetarian options. I realize it's a steakhouse, and we went for my husband who is a meat eater. However, I am not a meat eater and there were't many options for me. The main thing we did not like was the noise. It was so loud we had a hard time hearing each other talk.
Staff are always friendly. Service is good and great food.
Food was not served hot. Not the best experience. The company was awesome!!
The best and biggest chicken tenders I've ever had in my life - honestly. The honey mustard dip was excellent. The baked potato - fantastic - I didn't even put any cinnamon, sugar or butter on it. I do wish one of the side options with the entree would be a house salad to start the meal off - guess I'm traditional. I like my salad, then meat and potato.
Steak was not very professionally done ordered medium rare but half of my steak was well done and tough. The side dishes seemed a little small in portions also had corn that was served cold
Every time we eat there the food is great. We have family that comes from Kansas City area to eat there.
