Happy Hour: Mon- Thurs 5:oo pm- 7:00pm, Friday 4:oopm- 7:00pm ($7 cocktails, $6 wine $5 beer, $2 off barbites)
At our server's advice, we ordered four dishes for my wife and I to share. Each one came out individually spaced out by quite some time. The fourth and final dish came out over an hour after it was ordered and about 20 minutes after the third. These are "small plates" mind you. By the time it came we were long since ready to go and had already requested the check. It was a ravioli and while the filling was fantastic, the pasta itself was very thick and under cooked leaving us frustrated that we'd waited so long for it. Would we ever go back? Maybe. The food itself was delicious and while our server didn't come by much, the other employees were around to refill water, etc., frequently.
We have been regulars since the opening of Trust.
We are always thrilled with both the service and the food.
The atmosphere is always full of energy with happy diners.
Wonderful food and excellent service all at very reasonable prices.
Our second visit back and delivered just like the first! Made a reservation for Christmas Eve!
Wonderful, flavorful food. Outdoors is beautiful and has hearts. Servers are attentive.
When making the reservation on Open Table I mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. There was no mention or acknowledgement from the staff and when I mentioned it was a Birthday that was being celebrated nothing was offered....just a “happy birthday” wish.
The quality of the food and drink was excellent. Portion sizes are generous so we slightly over ordered. Cauliflower and Brussels Sprout starters were exceptional - very tasty. Wine list is quite limited but a good selection of interesting wines. Would recommend for a dinner with friends or business dinner.
Bin voyage dinner with good friend. Excellent food and service. A bit noisy.
Trust is a must! Great for a date night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The place was very loud. The service was slow and the food was just ok. My wife wondered why I wanted to go there, a couple of friends recommended the place and they thought it was great. I may return again but not for a while.
We’ve been to Trust many times now and it never disappoints! Thank you for the unique experience that is offered.
Amazing octopus!! And apricot sherbert!!
Great service!! We got a gift card for our kids!!
It’s not an overstatement to say the food is literally amazing.
Really fun foodie restaurant. A great place to share a dining experience and you know it's going to be good.
Trust is mainly a small plates restaurant, which is fine for us with smaller appetites. We had several things I would recommend and we shared them all: Brussels sprouts side, ham and hush puppies small plate, polenta and pork sugo small plate, oxtail raviolini small plate, and the charcuterie board. This was enough food for four of us, it as I said were not big eaters. Our waiter was a little surly, but the food made up for it.
Great weekend brunch. Sat outside on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was very energetic inside so the outdoor seating was welcome. We ordered the chicken with pancakes. Pancakes were fluffy and very yummy. Chicken pieces fried perfectly. Our other entree was chilaquiles rosas. Very delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly. Spicy. I loved it. We also ordered the Bloody Mary. Perfection!!
Tapas/shared plate type of restaurant. The food is amazing. I will definitely be going back to try out some of the other dishes.
Food was very delicious, the lobster risotto had some incredible flavor! Although for the portion size this was defiantly on the smaller side, Don't expect to get completely full without ordering at minimum 3 dishes per couple which can get pricey fast. Our server was polite and attentive, but service seemed kinda slow. Would go back, for a one off trendy dinner date, but not regularly.
In the past I have made three reservations for Trust and each time I had to cancel due to unexpected changes. This past Friday I was finally able to go and let me say the food, wine, and our service were spectacular and spot on!!! I'm bring a large group in November!
Fantastic find traveling. Excellent server Nate made it even more amazing. Food was remarkable and seasoned in bold strikes. Cocktails and wine were great. Super value.
Great dinner, amazing food and flavors, outstanding service!
Best meal I’ve had in a while. Highly recommended
We shared the chop salad, clams with homemade salumi, scallops, and oxtail ravioli. All of the dishes were very good. The salad and clams may be a bit salty for some, but for not for my taste.
Bourbon custard for dessert was the perfect ending to this delicious meal.
Awesome! We had a wonderful dinner trying several different plates.
Great food, excellent service, noisy
Food and beverages were outstanding. 2+ plates each was about right. Lighting needs help. We would definitely return.
Trust ticks all the boxes. Food is special and perfect. Love the wine choices... Service is perfect.
We had an amazing foodie experience! Everything was wonderful from the service to the last bite of food!
Food was masterfully crafted with complimentary and pleasantly surprising tastes and textures. The cauliflower is a must have. Only thing constructive I can say is I wish they had espresso and alternative milks... my work around - pop over to the coffee shop next door for a moca with coconut milk. Our server was one of the most genuinely kind hearted people I've ever met. All around - a great place to have great food with the ones you love.
It was so amazing, the staff were awesome the food and mimosas were delicious. I highly recommend!!
we will certainly dine there again.food and atmosphere great.
This is by far the best restaurant I’ve had the extreme pleasure of eating at in San Diego area. Fantastic !!
The service was ok but the food came out VERY slowly. We only ordered 4 small plates but we were there for over 2 hours. Not sure what’s up, I’m sure it’s always that busy but they seemed a little frantic.
Great food and drinks.
We drove down from Los Angeles to celebrate our son’s 6th year birthday at the SD Zoo and decided to try Trust restaurant for breakfast/brunch after having read the reviews. When our meals took a little while to come out, our server kindly offered to check the status. She then came out with most likely the manager, who brought out a sticky bun & ice cream with a candle Hi on top for my son’s birthday! Shortly after, our meals arrived and the manager came out again and apologized for the wait. Near the end of our meal, our server informed us that the meal would be taken care of by the restaurant! We enjoyed the great food, especially the sticky bun, and we were even more impressed by the service! We’ve had longer waits at restaurants before, but hardly do we even get an apology. We explained this to my son, and he would like to come to the restaurant again the next time he’s in SD... for more sticky buns!
Trust resets the bar for creative cuisine done perfectly in San Diego--hopefully a bellwether for more to come.
LOVED it ALL - from drinks to appetizers to the pork chop and then dessert!!
Great spot, all the things I had heard about this place were true. Love the kitchen, I miss cooking in open kitchens. Food was a little pricey for the portions and ingredients. Shishito peppers and octopus fritters don't cost much to make , they were both delicious though. Penicillin cocktail wasn't my favorite, switched it up to a spicy tequila cocktail and happily drank about four of those. Will definitely come back. My girlfriend said the chilaquiles rival my own, have to try them now.
Creative menu. Great food. Great service.
Every dish was amazing. That’s not typical for this level of dining.
Decided to book dinner for me, my husband, and my aunt after seeing the restaurant on one of Eater's must-try lists, and it did not disappoint. The food was phenomenal from start to finish, as was the service. Highly recommend the lamb meatballs plate and the burrata appetizer; it might have been the best burrata I've ever had. Well worth the money (which was totally reasonable and not too expensive) with a great atmosphere, too.
