The food was outstanding. The experience was incredible. Thank you.

Delicious evening at Trust. Had a table for three people for a business casual meeting. All attendees were greatly satisfied with the food. Every dish that was served was so flavorful. The tapas style was a perfect fit for our party. Sitting on the outdoor patio was extremely enjoyable on a lovely September evening. Our server recommend that we try two dishes from each category, which was the perfect recommendation. Cauliflower, tuna, octopus, lamb meatballs, ricotta, etc. I'm pretty sure any choice you make will be amazing. Moreover, the cocktail menu was experimental and complimented the food perfectly. The next day, my colleagues continued to applaud me on the reservation at Trust.
Best brunch!! I recommend their steak & eggs and French toast
I tried two different red wines because I didn’t like my first option (first a cab-merlot then a Tempranillo). Neither were good. Service has gone downhill. Our waiter was chatting with his coworkers and didn’t check on us periodically. Prices have also gone up it seems and the quantities are generally pretty small. The food was pretty delicious and that would be the only reason I recommend trust. The ambience is pretty cool but it was very loud in there.
Wonderful food, flavorful and fun, to try out the different small plates. Deserts were clever in their presentation, but not really outstanding. Service was a little uneven. Our drinks came very late, and several dishes came quickly, then there was a long delay for the last, as though the order hadn't been put in.
I generally prefer a quieter vibe without dance music in the background but it's not a deal breaker with this place. We came in with a large party, and they were very accommodating. Our server was amazing and very friendly, ensuring we were well taken care of. The food was absolutely amazing as well. Not one person who joined us had a single complaint.
Service was outstanding. All staff members very attentive. Emily was particularly wonderful. Food was very flavorful & creative. Love outdoor pet friendly dining.
I love Trust and go there often when I have a group. But I noticed at both Trust and Fort Oak that the food is very salty. I love salt so usually this isn't an issue, but the grilled octopus and the pasta angiolotto were way too salty. Otherwise, yummy. Jan
The food was exceptional ! Service great and a great stop if your heading down to SDSU for a concert or game !!!
Fantastic food! Very innovative. Our server was amazing. Paired the wines beautifully with our selections. Highly recommend! Also loved his other restaurant Fort Oak!
Food is good. French toast was amazing. Service was so-so, not bad and not great. I’d go again. Solid enough.
This was my first visit to Trust and my sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
Expect interesting house drinks and unique, creative small plates in a fun, open kitchen atmosphere.
Nice patio seating w/heaters, where we started, with a good size indoor dining room. As stated, we started on the patio but asked to be move inside due to an unforeseen issue. Our waiter was happy to accommodate.
We enjoyed everything we ordered and the Happy Hour pricing made it even better!
Loved everything about it. Thoughtful service, creative & delicious offerings, a variety of creative
drinks and loved the venue. Will definitely return!
We six friends sat outside on the patio for a leisurely dinner. Caesar was our server. He was wonderful, very attentive, and his recommendations were spot on. The dishes we ordered were: Ricotta Agnoletti, Burrata, Cauliflower, Shrimp & Sausage, Hamachi Tartare, Lamb Meatballs, Pork Sugo. We also shared 2 desserts, one was a takeoff of strawberry shortcake and the other was similar to a peanut butter cup.
All the dishes were excellent. My least favorite were the lamb meatballs and the Hamachi Tartare, though they were still very good. The Shrimp & Sausage and Pork Sugo were my favorites. One of our friends mentioned she wanted to lick the plates!
We’ve eaten here three times now and Trust never disappoints us with the quality of the food and the service.
Unbelievably delicious and creative food - each of the 7 dishes we ordered was yummy and inventive. We are NYC foodies and we wish there was a Trust in Manhattan! By far the best restaurant in San Diego (and we have tried all of the other highly rated places here.) Kudos!
Trust is in a very nice neighborhood not far from Balboa Park. It's a fun and modern restaurant with a great vibe. We really enjoyed our meal and next time we go back to San Diego will have it on our list. We sat outside in the patio and it was a lovely evening.
Perfection every time.
I’m pretty particular about food and hold everything to a high standard since Chicago has some amazing chefs and that’s my hometown. Trust lives up to the hype surrounding it.
Our server was fantastic. She timed our courses perfectly and helped us make some decisions about what to order since we were deciding between a few great sounding dishes.
The food was even better than the service. If it’s still on the menu, the braised oxtail raviolini is something I’ve never had anywhere else and it was beautiful.
The price really impressed me as well. We got a high level meal and drinks for about half what we would pay in NY or Chicago so it was a nice item to add to the positive list of reasons to visit Trust.
Overall it was a 5/5 experience and I highly recommend.
Consistently great food
The service was good but a bit slow for how full the place was. Nonetheless I love this place, food and service. This was an exception... but again it was not bad!
Great food, excellent service!
When a person or group creates a dining experience like one can have at Trust, it takes one’s dining experience to an art form. Trust delivers the most amazing food with extraordinary service that leaves you nurtured not only with food but attention. The design fits the space and works but can be a touch noisy inside...energy
My recent meal at Trust gives me hope that San Diego may someday have a culinary scene. As foodies, we are used to disappointment in this beautiful southern Californian town and get our foodie fixes when we travel. I expected that after our second time at Trust last year where we had shady service, that the food may have gone downhill as well. We were so pleasantly surprised by the incredible flavors, creative and skillful dishes, and excellent service. I would certainly say the food is very worthy of the highest accolades (creative and tasty in a Michelin star way without the formality). When I need some seriously good food... this is now going to be my first choice. Very pleasantly surprised!!
This place is what I would call a dinning experience. My wife and I go to dinner at different places where we “eat” this was an experience. We chose three items not sure what to expect. They were each a pleasant surprise from zucchini to octopus. I would highly recommend Trust.
Always wonderfully prepared food and flavors!!!!
i hate to tell everyone how great it is because it will even be harder to get in
A great meal with small plates. This allowed a lot of variety. I would gladly return.
It was great all the way around. We had a waitress who was not afraid to spend time with us and share about the menu. The General Manager of the bar, Mark, came and introduced himself to us. The food was amazing. We will definitely return soon.
This is a great restaurant. Great outdoor area for groups. The only aspect I was disappointed in is the serving size of the food. It was definitely on the small side for the price point. There was also a long lag between the first set of food coming out and then the two fish dishes that were ordered. I think we waited almost 3-40 mins between the two meals.
Service was wonderful, food delicious. Love the shared plates idea, just a little on the pricey side.
It's nearby where I'm staying. I've tried it twice and same experience both times. Neglected by servers and none of the food is comforting. All of it has some kind of edge. Nothing to nibble before the dishes come. And the desserts are trying too hard and a concept and sickeningly sweet.
Food is quite good. Service is excellent. Portions were way too small for the price.
Food was delicious with portions ideal for sharing. Service was on par with top restaurants. Ambiance was cozy for small groups.
Great as always. Amazing staff and food.
The portions are small and it's a little bit pricey, but they serve the best food in all of San Diego. Every single dish is so delicious and unique. The different flavors mesh so perfectly that it's hard to tell how each sauce or cream is made. My mouth is watering while thinking about it. This is a great place for birthday dinners, anniversaries, or other celebrations. Gourmet level. The drinks are also A+. Hands down the best restaurant in San Diego.
Fabulous meal and great conversation with the bar staff. The halibut was delicious but a slightly larger portion would have been appreciated.
I’ve been to Trust many times but the rest of my party was first time. Great service and delicious dishes.
I was out at a bar near the beach when a gentleman approached us and noticed we weren’t from San Diego. He asked us if we had any dinner plans, and right away recommend Trust. Me and my boyfriend knew we had to try the restaurant because we thought, it must be a good restaurant if it was the first to pop up in his head. I’m so happy we went with his recommendation, the restaurant was very beautiful, relaxing. Our waiter was so kind, we told her it was our first time in, and she made sure we felt welcomed, did a walk through of the menu and answered any questions we had. The food was amazing, I’m not one to try new things and I’m so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. The plates are small portions but it’s meant to share and try multiple places. We had about 4 different plates, dessert and drinks and we paid around $115 not including tip. Well worth the money. Will recommend doing reservations because the restaurant looked busy. A must stop in we’re back in the city again!
