My girl loved it so I loved it
Our server was very nice, but not as attentive as what we are used to at Trulucks. I ordered the lobster tails, they were slightly undercooked, not enough for an icky factor, but the thickest pieces were still a little translucent and not as meaty in texture. That happened once before there, and I sent them back to be cooked a little more and they didnt come back better so I decided to let it go, bring one home and microwave it a few seconds.
Just not the best tonight. But still a nice experience overall.
Food is very good. The service was outstanding ! Jonathan was an excellent server and I would recommend him to anyone
Had a great anniversary dinner - Holly was very attentive - pace was perfect. Loved the indulgent Baked Alaska as a dessert treat!
We went to dinner to celebrate our anniversary. We really enjoyed having a cocktail and a very nice shrimp cocktail in the bar and listened to a great piano player/singer. I had requested a "very nice table" to celebrate our 41st anniversary. Unfortunately, we were seated in the back room, which seemed more appropriate for a business meeting, while other tables were empty in the main dining room with much prettier surroundings, lighting, and ambiance. 3 of the 5 tables around us were obvious business meetings, while the other was a big birthday. The right next to us was a table of about 12 men with loud drowning voices. I felt as if we were in a boardroom rather than an expensive celebration venue. We would have also liked to continue to listen to the singer, which could be heard from the main dining room, but not over the noise in the backroom. I probably should have asked to be moved, but I didn't realize my discomfort immediately. There was a very pretty and large flower arrangement in that room, which was nice, but the rest of the room looked bland. Our waiter was very nice and attentive and did a very good job. Our meal was very good. We were also served a beautiful Baked Alaska for our anniversary. We enjoyed it, and it was a nice surprise, but I had actually had my eye on one of the other desserts I had seen on the dessert tray. The bottom line is that our food expectations were met, but not the ambiance we were hoping for, especially for the $ (which was a huge splurge for us). We probably will not go there next year:(
We went here for our anniversary and I can say it was exceptional from the time we walked in the door until we left! The service, food, and ambiance was fabulous!
We recently celebrated our anniversary at Trulucks in the Arboretum. The experience was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent... our waiter Shawn was one of the best we’ve ever had. From the rose petals on the table, to the complimentary Baked Alaska, the 2 hours at Trulucks was a highlight of our day. The appetizers, salads, and entree’s were all delicious. My husband had a filet topped with Gorgonzola, and I had crab stuffed lobster. Everything was perfect, and we will return!
Outstanding food and service. Made our celebration very special with the great attention to our birthday person and her celebration.
The food was fresh and well prepared. Jason, our server, was attentive. The low lighting and quiet mood of the dining area was conducive to talking. We truly enjoyed supper at Truluck's.
We are die hard Trulucks fans, devotees actually. However, this particular visit was quite a disappointment. We were promptly seated for our 7pm reservation but they had already run out of jumbo crab claws!!! The asparagus was small, perhaps a seasonal problem, but the other side accompaniments were subpar as well. We will of course give them another try because there is nowhere else in Austin to find delicious jumbo crab claws. We will just reserve claws when we reserve our table.
We had a fabulous time celebrating our anniversary. Thanks to the staff for making the evening special. As always, the cocktails and food are the best!
I would like to give the highest rating, since the food and atmosphere were excellent; however we were frustrated with our service. Our server finally told us at the end of our meal that she was new.
We noticed everyone getting bread service as soon as they sat down, after 15 mins of waiting on our appetizers we asked for bread. Our server also socialize with the table next to us instead of getting us plates for our appetizer, we decided to use our bread plates since it was a hot appetizer.
We realize that this is not fair to someone that is still new, unfortunately we were a bit frustrated with the service and I wish our server would have let us know she had recently started. We would have been more reasonable and asked for things instead of assuming we were going to get them with the service.
We were celebrating my birthday. Everything was excellent as always. We love the new decor. Great experience.
Celebrated our 39th Wedding Anniversary. We've frequented the Arboretum restaurant location for the past five years and we intend to continue to be loyal patrons for several years to come.
Everything was awesome! My friend loved the sea bass! My husband was very happy with his scallops! They were delicious! Liked them better than my tuna! We all loved the crab mac-n-cheese!
Great service - reminded me of the good days of Club Corporation (CCA) Quality of food was good and the service excellent
Wayne was an excellent server. The food, service, and overall experience made for a magical night out!
Came back to one of our old favorites in the Arboretum to celebrate our 26th anniversary, and so happy to see they this Trulucks is still going strong and better than ever! It’s great to have a few places outside downtown where you can go and really dress up if you want to. We arrived early so drank a toast in their bar. It was a Wednesday night and the bar was absolutely hopping! When our table was ready, it was in a perfect spot in the restaurant, strewn with rose petals, so sweet. Our server couldn’t have been better. At the end of the meal we declined dessert, but our server came back with a lovely complimentary celebratory parfait of berries, because she “noticed we had been eating healthy”. Alongside was a chilled plate with Happy Anniversary written out in chocolate, which she set aflame—so festive! Thank you, Trulucks for making our evening truly memorable. PS, I know I didn’t really mention the food—I had the Thai yellowtail and my husband a steak; both fabulous!
Everything about our birthday dinner for a friend at Truluck's was exceptional from the soft ambiance, the excellent waitstaff and the delicious food!
Wonderful seafood and very attentive staff. A perfect special occasions spot.
Excellent Service, excellent food, we were taken care of EXCEPTIONALLY well for our anniversary, and all of the attention we received was a very nice touch... great job!
Our waitress Cynthia was outstanding and very kind. I thought the food quality was GREAT especially for the pricing I would’ve thought the bill would be much more. I got the salmon which was cooked perfectly and it was paired with asparagus which is always yum but would’ve liked something more savory like rice or something with it. Also would’ve been nice to have a lemon or something of citrus nature with the dish as well.
My boyfriend got the sweet & spicy yellow tail and he said his was “very good.” My bite of his dish to me was a combo of flavors that was unusually interesting but that they actually paired well with each other.
For dessert, carrot cake, WOW. Overload of perfectly carroty & sweet flavors. Took leftovers home to eat while we watched a movie - it was a HUGE slice. Definitely shareable... if you are even willing to share😋
Steak was not prepared correctly and when returned, rest of meal wasn't warm. I didnt want to mention it because I already had waited for my steak.
the sea bass with crab fried rice is outstanding. all the staff were excellent. especially our waiter, wayne. the manager checked to see all was ok, and the restaurant called the next day to see how everything was. the people in our party who had steak liked it better than most steakhouses in town. terrific place. wish we could afford it every week!
Excellent food and service, for which you are paying a high (but probably fair) price. The seventy-five dollar seafood platter for four is extremely fresh and well presented, but could easily eaten up by two with big appetites. They have one with slightly bigger portions for $95. Four of us got out there with two bottles of nice wine, appetizer, salad, main courses and coffee for around $400 overall not including tip. Besides the food quality, I'd say the hand crafted cocktails are stand outs. A round of signature cocktails for four costs $60 not including tip. But we missed happy hour. The one drawback if you are looking for pre-dinner conversation in the bar area, you won't be able to hear yourself think. It's noisy, with a singer/piano player playing fairly loud and not too much in the way of sound absorption. The dining room is lively, but not headache producing like the bar. You are going to pay a premium for suburban Austin dining out, but you'll feel like you got what you paid for with excellent service.
Trulucks is very attentive to special occasions and the wait staff are always knowledgeable and attentive. Of course the food is great as well.
We had a great night at this restaurant, the service for the most part was very good, The only negative part is we got a table that wasn't very quiet at all. I asked to be removed due to a big group table next to us and I really couldn't hear my wife . They didnt move us the first time so I had to ask again and finally moved to a different table however still wasn't what we wanted but it was a littlie better. Overall we had a great time but was disappointed that I had to ask multiple times to be removed to a different table
I have been going to Truluck’s for many years. It has been a great location for family celebrations and an evening out with friends. Their menu is varied and contains many favorite dishes. The service is always excellent and the quality of the food has been exceptional every time.
The food and service was 2nd to none! Simply Amazing! Everyone was so warm and welcoming. My husband and I were celebrating 9 years of marriage and dining at Truluck's was the icing on the cake!
Amazing, perfect service, everything was just spot on
We arrived a little early, but was accommodated quickly. The service and the food was exceptional as usual.
The service was as excellent as the food. This is a perfect place to eat without breaking your bank.
Food was great, however crab in the salad was not mentioned (that we could see) on the menu and my wife hates seafood. We were in a poorly ventilated Tommy that was very hot/humid. Service was great
Excellent dinner and service, sea bass is exquisite as always and of course the baked alaska was really good!
Truluck's Arboretum is one of our "go to" spots for special occasions. They never disappoint and always exceed our expectations. This visit was outstanding as usual!
Birthday dinner for adult daughter who likes fresh seafood. We arrived on a Friday evening at 7:15 pm and were immediately seated in a quiet corner booth. Sparkles and stars were sprinkled on the white tablecloth to acknoledge the birthday occasion. The restaurant was nearly full but in our corner the sound was moderate and our conversation was at normal level. Started with proseccos around along with 4 fresh crab claws (large) and 1 cup of lobster bisque for appetizers. Excellent. Main courses included pan seared scallops, salmon bernaise, and petit South African stuffed lobster tail. All perfecly prepared and delicious. A bottle of the Foxen pinot noir accompanied. The "birthday surprise" dessert was "baked alaska" that substituted marshmallow creme for meringue and was flambe'd for show. Altogether it was a very pleasant celebratory evening and we look forward to returning.
This is now my favorite restaurant.
Since we move we found this place best of all. It’s a fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion. From service all the way to the desert....no complaints. Best escargot in town. For the last 3 yrs we have been celebrating our birthdays here. We’ll keep coming back. Happy Hour too is the best.
Everything was amazing! It was our 33rd wedding anniversary and we were treated like we were King and Queen by our waiter Stover! Our food was amazing. Neither of us wanted our visit to end. After leaving my wife said we should make a visit to Truluck’s a couple of times a year and I agreed! See you soon!
