Truluck's continues to impress. The service and food were both excellent.
Our waiter was the bomb....Jonathan you the man!!! Thank you for making my daughter feel special on her birthday:)
It's was terrific. Our server was just the BEST!
Fred James was excellent!
The food ans service was excellent and I even got a call the next day asking if I had enjoyed my visit and if I had had any issues. Could not have asked for better care ;) Thoroughly enjoyable and I shall keep returning.
Wonderful meal with excellent service. The meal ended with a great surprise “Baked Alaska” dessert, my new favorite desserts.
Great all around. Will visit again
At first we were to be seated at a 6-top 'oval' which was right by the swinging kitchen doors. Did not like the location so they moved us to a large semi-circle booth which was fine for six gals. Oz our server was SO knowledgeable, very attentive and whip smart about the menu, wine, etc. Because of the table 'issue', they brought each of us a glass of champagne and we were also treated to amazing birthday desserts. I received a follow-up call yesterday to inquire about our visit and that was unexpected (these days) and a nice touch. They said they've put a note on my profile about not seating me next to the kitchen (I feel special now :))!
Thought there was a dress code. Guy next to us wore a grey T-Shirt. Very nice atmosphere. Greeted right away, seated and served. They had a special (steak) which I was tempted to get. Really enjoyed the ambience and the feel of the place. Our wait person was Holli and she was very nice and helpful. But she forgot the coffee at the end of the meal. But she took the coffee off our bill right away without hesitation. Will go back and hope to very soon.
Lovely Mother’s Day early dinner. Server, Ryan was very attentive and knowledgeable of food and wine. Good was excellent! Very special celebration!
It was great as always , we Gad a ver y nice time. Food was hood
I recommend Truluck's for high quality seafood. The entrees were excellent, the waiter was friendly and attentive. We were charged for an extra dish we did not order, but once pointed out, it was quickly corrected. Although much of the food was excellent, we were not a fan of the crab bisque, with it's strong flavor of goat cheese.
We came for lunch to celebrate my birthday and Mother’s Day with my mother. Our meal was outstanding and the service was excellent. We couldn’t have chose a better place to dine at.
Fabulous Mother’s Day brunch. We will be back!
Great meal and overall experience. Service was impeccable - Sheng was very knowledgeable about the menu - and the food was wonderfully prepared. Steaks were cooked perfectly, sea bass was delicious and the crab fried rice was an unexpected gem. It’s definitely a premium priced restaurant but certainly worth it for the quality they deliver.
our table order 3 Filets-the same temperature-one was very rare, one ok, one overdone. Very embarrassing!!
You have reduced the # of dining options which will limit your customers-not good.
Our waiter was less than attentive. all in all, I will not come to Trulucks again.
If you enjoy personal service, then this is the place to get it. The servers are knowledgeable and attentive. Truluck's is like having your own private club without paying extra to belong.
I already spoke to a Manager about our experience and they were very understanding when I explained the service was just not the usual high quality we were accustomed to from past Trulucks experience
The Oyster Rockefeller was the worst we ever eaten!!! Tiny Oysters in a soupy spinach mix with a hard cover that seamed like hard cheddar cheese than bearnaise sauce? We have eaten them at the downtown location many times and they were wonderful. Kind of set the mood in a bad way, I should have sent them back. The waitress was way over the top. Way to chatty, talked about herself. So overly nice that it seem so fake and she talked to us a like we were children. I'm 60+.
It was our first visit. We went for our 20th anniversary and it was perfect.
I have one cavil. I would like to see some more vegetable offered that are Keto-friendly (Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, etc.)
Fabulous spot for a special event. Service is beyond impeccable.
The food was amazing and the service was phenomenal. We will definitely come back.
Our experience at Turlucks was fabulous! The food was delicious. The wine that our waiter recommended was one of the best I've ever tasted. The ambiance is very nice. The baked Alaska for my birthday was incredible! It is very pricey, but worth it for the total experience. Ask for Johnathan! He was a wonderful waiter. Very knowledgeable.
We have been patrons of Trulucks for at least 10 years. One of my favorite restaurants. Unfortunately we have made our LAST visit. Imagine our surprise when I ordered a mexican martini and it was $16 (single glass). The alaskan king crab leg has gone from $60 to $75. The side of crab rice is now $16. Salmon and asparagus $35? Really$. There are far too many choices for great food in Austin at reasonable prices.... Bye Bye Trulucks
Excellent service and food!
Great food - Great Service - Great Red Door Martini + Free dessert on your Birthday "Can't Miss"
Meal and service were excellent. The place was packed so the noise level seemed a bit elevated
We had a very lovely dinner and the crab claws were amazing! The entire evening from start to finish was fabulous -- we were celebrating a birthday! The trimmings were perfect!!
This trip was NOT up to their normal standard. We were with friends and did not want to complain, but the Shrimp Cocktail and Lobster claws were over cooked, steaks ordered "M" were VERY rare and overall just missed the mark we have grown to expect when we spend $300.00 plus on a nice dinner. The wines recommended were not great. As opposed to the wines recommended in the bar in February ! Too bad, as Truluk's was our go to for Birthdays, Holidays and such. As our friends were treating us to this special dinner (Birthday and Anniversary for both couples) we did not discuss it until we got home. Both my wife and I were disappointed in what should have been exceptional based on the same dinner 2 months ago. Service was still great, but that is not really why you go to Truluck's!
I had wanted to take my parents to Truluck’s for a while now. This was their first experience and it was awesome! Jason was our server and did a fantastic job!
Excellent place for any occasion. Five star service and amazing food!
Celebrated my wife's B'day. Great food and service. Awesome!
The food was good, but not as good as expected. The manager and waiter made it very special for a birthday celebration.
Food was very, very slow in coming to the table. We were there 2 hours. The baked Alaska was yummy.
I had a wonderful time. The food was great.
We've eaten at Truluck's dozens of times. The food was excellent, as always, but the service was super slow. Our waiter was GREAT, but he had too many tables and we had to wait to order, and extra time every time we asked for something (drink refills, extra condiments, etc.). We will be back, and hopefully the service will match the brand.
Always a great choice for classic fine dining with excellent food and impeccable service.
Truluck's has been an old favorite for my wife and I. I remember having the most wonderful steak of my life at Truluck's in downtown Austin several years ago. Dry aged beef that just melted in your mouth kind of steak.
However, on a recent visit to the Arboretum location, the steaks looked and tasted of much less quality from what I remember. In fact, based on taste and texture, I don't feel they are using aged beef anymore, and I did not see it noted anywhere on their menu.
Anyway, I ordered their Premiere Rib-eye Steak entree at $55 (as shown). Unfortunately, I would compare the cut to something you could get at a franchise steakhouse like Saltgrass or Outback. Nothing special that is. For the price of $55, I was expecting a lot more. Also, the steak was slightly overdone around the edges. I ordered it medium rare, but the center was pink to slightly red, and the edges (about 1 1/2 inches of it) were definitely medium, very light pink. I decided to inform my waiter, but turned down the replacement which was offered since I was starving at the time and I knew they would take my entire plate away so I could wait another 10 min for it. Like I said, it was only slightly overdone, and to be fair, another persons steak at the same table was done perfectly (I was jealous!), so they got that one right. Also, we ordered crab legs and other seafood items which were tasty and fresh, but again, nothing that compares to the "market" price paid...again, not seeing the value. Other factors like service and ambiance where what you would expect for a fancy restaurant, so no complaints there.
All told, our bill was $296 (before tip) which included a $40 bottle of wine. Also, our server threw in a slice of cheesecake ($14 value) as a kind gesture for the overdone steak.
So don't get me wrong here, I don't dislike this place. I just think there are better places for the money. Would I go back..? Probably not.
Everything was great. Waitress very knowledgeable. Food was great. Baked Alaska was the best.
We went for our anniversary and they went out of their way to make us feel special. The service was great and the food was amazing
The server was named Jerry. He was very nice and professional. Excellent conversationalist and very informative.
