Friendly, neighborhood restaurant with something for everyone. We love the trio of dips, crispy Brussel sprouts and variety of kebabs.
Great neighborhood gem, loved it and will be back!
Made a last minute reservation and they were super accommodating. The food was incredible, came out quickly, and everyone was very friendly!
Wonderful !great food and wine
Yummy flavorful food, a selection of things that I can eat since I don't eat animal products, very friendly service, casual atmosphere.
I used to really like this restaurant but the last several times it's really failed. Second to last time, in our party of five, three of us had finished eating before the dishes for the last two even arrived. And the wait staff seemed annoyed that we kept asking for it. Last time, the food was just bad. The falafel dish I always order was so dry that crunching the falafel's actually hurt and I left them - no one asked if there was a problem. The pita came out cold and the dishes have become really skimpy. That said, on a Saturday night the place was full but who knows how many were like me - disappointed and unlikely to return.
Too bad for a few of the wait staff who were clearly trying...
Nice casual place to eat with good food and wine
We had an amazing dinner here
The falafel and other appetizers were good. For our entrees we got one lamb skewer, one chicken skewer and one meatballs (each accompanied with with rice and other sides.) The entrees were all a bit bland, with everything on the plate tasting sort of the same and lacking flavor. Service was fine, if a bit slow for such an early time with very few diners in the restaurant. The space is lovely, and everyone was very friendly.
This is certainly one of my very favorite SF restaurants. We LOVE the food, and the people are very very nice and personable. An excellent value for the money, and a wonderful way to spend a little time with friends.
The food at Troya is healthy and savory. I didn’t feel guilty about finishing my entire plate. SO good and sooo good for you.
I’d highly recommend it.
Love the food - Muhammara, Checken Kebabs, vegetable tagine and the amazing rice pudding. Nice neighborhood gem.
Good. Not great. Good.
This is a solid place with excellent food quality but lacking the flavor of other competitors in SF city. Service was good, not great. I found the bus boy more attentive than our actual waiter. Not a date place at all, more like a cafe than a restaurant. Lovely hostess. A better place for your hard earned money would be Dunya on Polk where the service and food thus far has been unbeatable for me personally in SF city.
Brilliant, authentic, delicious!
loved the cinnamon lamb rice bowl but tbh the chicken was a little tough and not as tasty as the lamb
Great neighborhood find. Very good food. No pretension. Pleasant space. We'll definitely be back.
Very good food. Would totally go back and try other things of the menu!
Great place! Good food! Wish they would do something about the cafeteria ambience...
Consistently good food. Love the healthy and delicious options on the menu. Nice wine choices. Great for vegetarians and meat lovers alike!
loved what we ate, but didn't get past appetizers - large portions and oh, so good. Love the
Cauliflower, the stuffed cabbage rolls and of course, the trio of hummus.
Food was delicious, fresh , flavorful and plentiful. Highly recommend!
Great food! Love the lamb shoulder dish. The trio of appetizers was great. The red pepper (?) dip was to die for. Great good, great service! I'll definitely be going back.
The food was delicious! With three of us, we split several apps and three main dishes. We are vegetarian and everything was delicious and full of flavor. We also had the kanafeh dessert, which was so yummy! Oh and great prices here!
We first visited Troya many years ago when it was still located at 5th and Clement (now Istanbul Kitchen) my wife and I greatly enjoyed the food and attentive service. A subsequent trip to Turkey served to underscore the quality and authenticity of the food but with modern touches. However, any recommendation for Troya at its Fillmore Street location are greatly tempered by the poor service we experienced. We had made evening reservations and were promptly greeted and seated; however, there ended the concept of promptness. It was a good 15 minutes before our order was taken and another 20 minutes before it arrived. The order brought to the table was the main dish not the starter dish we had also ordered. They simply forgot it. No "so sorry" no complementary drink offered. Not to let the food go cold we ate our meal backwards. The food was quite good and consistent with my expectations but the inexcusably poor service should not happen anywhere much less at this price level. Would I recommend Troya to a friend? For the food yes, for the service, don't get your hopes up.
Great food, reasonably priced. Fun departure from the usual fair.
We had a fabulous time. Casual environment. The food was so delicious and fresh. I will be coming back here regularly! So happy to have found this local gem.
Wonderful food, friendly staff and reasonable prices- love this restaurant!
Great Turkish and PanMed cusine. Lamb shoulder was outstanding. Great selection of French, Turkish, and Israeli/Lebanese wines. Service was both friendly and attentive, without being cloying. everyone should try it.
Food was good- weirdest experience though when we arrived for our reservation to find the door locked- people were inside and we tried opening- we could see the hostess and she could see us struggling with the door- yet NEVER CAME TO OPEN IT!! Turns out that they had had a baby shower in the restaurant and a toddler had locked the door. Haha funny- until we almost walked away until the Mother came and unlocked the door. hostess never said a word- or opened the door!
Troya has the best and most authentic Turkish food in SF. It's not your run-of-the-mill generic Mediterranean place. The spices alone make their food unique and tasty. The veg tagine I had was delicious and perfect for the cool nights we have been having lately. And the mocha pot de creme for dessert was fantastic, made with Turkish coffee. My friends loved their chicken kabobs and pork shoulder. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the narrow entrance and is well decorated. The noise level is relatively low and the service is good. I had not been there for years so was happy to see the quality has not diminished.
Service was mediocre and restroom was messy. They were out of two desserts as well. Overall, over priced for the value delivered.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. I live close by and am a frequent flyer. Great menu and perfect for sharing small plates
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I'd definitely go back!
The food is really incredible. Nice choice of wines as well.
Wonderful service and meal was exceptional.
A tasty meal well served. Good value. Nice neighborhood vibe.
Great pac Heights Mediterranean spot! Food was excellent. Good size and value. Will be back!
Hummus with lamb is amazing!!! The pistachio baklava with vanilla ice cream is also so good!!
Second time at Troya and it was just as good. Excellent food, good wines, great value and personal service by the owner. It reminded us that there are still great restaurants that don’t over charge for excellent food. Especially enjoyed the cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, hummus with lamb and lamb shank. They also have a wonderful Bordeaux on the wine menu. Go!
