Love Trios! Our go-to for a good meal, and we are always treated like welcomed guests by the team.
We enjoyed two seafood entrees at dinner -both were perfectly cooked and flavorful.
We were hesitant eating in a hotel restaurant but we were treated to some of the best food I have had the pleasure of downtown. The calamari (sous vide method) the flatbread and the halibut were over the top!
Wait staff were friendly and not pushy, five stars!
We shared a bunch of appetizers and salads for our meals.
So surprised. We book this venue in advance to ensure we have a good restaurant to dine at. We arrive and they have a large group of seniors that are being given a presentation over a microphone. We ask our sever how long this is going to be? He says 1-1.5 hours and they will be done. We got up and left and then needed to find a restaurant close by. Are they that desperate to fill thier tables that they blow off everyone else for a large group! Never again!
For a pre-theatre dinner Trios Bistro is a favorite of ours, and it always excels - especially in the quality of the service. It's the staff that make all the difference. They invariably take the extra effort to make you feel like you're an honored guest. Our server Johnson was incredibly attentive. One of our party mentioned that he was considering a special drink, and a few minutes later it magically appeared, delivered with a sense of humor.
The menu had changed since our last visit, but many of our old favorites are still present. The signature crab cakes are the best that I've had anywhere and are highly recommended. The flatbreads with the ricotta dip are a nice treat too. And the cod and chips are outstanding - even better than the fish and chips that was on the prior menu.
Toronto has no shortage of great restaurants in this area, yet we find ourselves returning to this restaurant time and again. It's all because of the great experience.
It was good !
Good shareable. Waiter was good.
Excellent service and a quiet place (partially carpeted), very centrally located in the downtown core. Prices comparable to many a crowded, noisy cafe with twice as many tables crammed into the same amount of space. Inventive, something for everyone menu.
Food great, service excellent and quiet.
Food was outstanding - everything we ordered was perfect, tasty, and fresh. Beer choices were great and our server was attentive and awesome. This is in the Marriott hotel - we we’re going to leave but OpenTable helped us make the choice of staying. You can tell that whoever was back there in the kitchen had pride in what they were serving. Nicely done.
It was my first time at Trios Bistro. I generally find hotel restaurants to be of a high quality and enjoyable to dine at, so I came here with my husband to celebrate a belated birthday. I made the reservation on OpenTable for 7:30 PM, and arrived a few minutes early. We were escorted to a table almost immediately (to my surprise, the waiter did not ask or check for a reservation on file - I suppose it's because most tables were empty/free).
The waiter that attended to us during our stay was very professional yet warm, and also efficient. He was able to make a couple of recommendations about the menu, which I appreciated. Some parts of our meal were delicious, especially the crab cakes (came piping hot and flavourful) and the bison steak (unique choice and done well). The presentation of the food was either very attractive (as with the flourless chocolate cake) or just average (our entrees), depending on what was ordered.
We were seated in a booth that faced the "entrance" of the restaurant and the bar. I was surprised by how small the restaurant was - it was basically an area sectioned off on the main foyer, and not a separate, enclosed dining room. I found the environment cozy, with dim lighting, a scattering of tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant and booth seats surrounding that layout. However, very few patrons were there, and so the ambiance seemed kind of "drab" for a high-end hotel restaurant.
I did specify "birthday" as the special occasion on the OpenTable booking as I was prompted on the online form, but the staff at the establishment did not allude to this annotation nor did they say/do anything special (not sure if the restaurant actually received this information or planned on doing anything with it?).
Service was alright, one particular server was a little rude with seating. I made a reservation but still got a table right next to the entrance. We requested to move to a different table and were taken to a really dark area next to the emergency exit. He however later made it up for us with better service. Food was worth it.
This place remains open on Christmas Day, which is its largest edge. Food was alright.
Only serve breakfast at 11 am even though online menu shows lunch options.
Excellent food and phenomenal service! Quiet enough to enjoy conversation.
Must try the crab cakes.
Went for dinner after the theatre. We were greeted by someone who tried a little too hard to be overly friendly. Great waiter. I had inquired about the soup, and he brought be a little bowl to try. So sweet. Awesome crabcakes. Ordered some flatbreads. On the menu, it did not say there was proscuitto on it. I'm a vegetarian, so they brought another order, minus the meat. Very accommodating.
The staff were excellent and helped us make a terrific selection for our dinner. The serving staff was very helpful and personable and ensured our meal experience was memorable. It was an experience we look forward to repeating soon.
Disappointing - fish and chips was over-cooked and the batter way too heavy and burnt. Would not go there again.
Great find! The food was excellent and the service was first class. I don't understand why there aren't more people eating here. The duck special was one of the most unique and tasty meals I have ever had. The appetizers were large, beautifully presented and very tasty as well. The room is very open and finally decorated and the wait staff was very attentive.
The place was empty. On a long weekend Friday. Which is odd downtown Toronto. But the staff was attentive and the food was good. I kept wondering if everyone knew something I didn't. But overall, I would go back.
The service was excellent. The ambience was perfect for the special occasion.
Trios Bistro is one of our favorite restaurants. The staff always makes us feel warmly welcomed, and the service is absolutely outstanding! The food is consistently great.
They currently have a Canada 150 menu, and it's excellent. The compressed watermelon with feta is a really great, light appetizer. The mains are also excellent. But the blueberry crumble with praline ice cream is unbelievably fantastic!
Always a great spot to go for a special evening. The food is excellent and the staff very attentive.
Very well located downtown Toronto, very nice and comfortable setting within a great hotel, we recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Toronto or simply for a night out.
Experience was good overall. It wasn't amazing nor bad; it was just good.
We enjoyed the calamari, Which was well seasoned. The rainbow trout entrée was good, but not amazing.
The service was attentive but not overly attentive.
This is a very pleasant place for a breakfast meeting or just a meet-up with a friend, or for a lunch, as four of us enjoyed last weekend. Finding a really decent, pleasant, well-staffed restaurant of this kind for breakfast and lunch is not that easy in downtown Toronto, so I now have Trios on my list of places to meet up with friends in the daytime. I haven't had dinner there, so don't know if it's as casual then, to eat after a movie, e.g., but I will certainly try it in future.
Amazing food and amazing service!
I went with three friends for Winterlicious dinner, and it was well worth the money. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The wine list however was okay, not an extensive selection, but for what we have for our main courses, it was certainly good enough.
To be honest, I did not have high expectations for this hotel restaurant. Trios Bistro knocked it out of the park! We had the coolest table in the dining room. Our server was gracious, attentive, and delivered impeccable service. The menu options were creative and appetizing. Our meal was superb-- I could not find any fault with the starter, main, or dessert. It was a lovely evening, one I wish to repeat!
Had lunch as part of Winterlicous. The service was outstanding, and the food was excellent, we really enjoyed the variety of choices.
Incredible service and phenomenal eggs benny (with no hassle substitute) and crispy rosti potato heaven!
Great service nice ambiance ok food
Food could've been better for the price.. I ordered the cod and chips and the fries came out soggy.. The fish and sauces that came with it were great though.
Located in the lobby of the Marriott hotel. Best parking is one building south, underground, reasonable price, as compared to using the hotel's garage. One of few restaurants open New Year's Day near the Entertainment District. Very quiet, seemingly overlooked by the New Years' crowd. Limited menu but good range in selection and portions. Food was tasty, plates attractive, service co-ordinated for our party of four. Reasonably priced wine list. Service was excellent: prompt, attentive and courteous. I recommend.
New Year's Eve menu for an early dinner. Surf and turf was great and beef cooked perfectly . The bechamel sauce fell short though. Was far too thick almost solid. But flavours were good . The salmon with grapefruit sauce was an odd combination and went a favourite . The grilled chicken was a good choice and not overdone. Server was attentive until the end where I had to flag him down to clear plates . Desert fell short as lemon tart was too sweet and not very lemony. Pecan pie was ok but not great
Fish and Chips dinner came with greasy fries. Not much atmosphere as the restaurant is open to the hotel lobby. However the waiters were very nice.
Great food and service very prompt and attentive.
Went for Christmas Dinner. Very noisy and kids running around unsupervised. Very cold & draft table. Not enough serving staff as there appeared to be one gentleman for all the tables.
Wouldn't go back again. Didn't realize the restaurant was in the lobby and not separate from the busy much travelled entranceway to the hotel and elevators.
We went there for brunch. there was no brunch menu so we chose something from the breakfast menu. The food was really good but the atmosphere was not what we expected as people staying at the hotel were having their breakfast in tracksuit pants. Not so glamorous....
What a pleasant surprise! Tried some of the trendy spots last minute while in Toronto and they were booked. I remembered there was a restaurant at the Marriott attached to the Eaton Centre and thought it might do. Well, it turned out to be just what I wanted and more! Wonderdful wild salmon cooked better than I ever have had and my husband had pot pie I think which he thought was excellent. Wine choice was spot on, service friendly and attentive and it was cozy and quiet. Perfect! I will be back in February!
Crisp clean ambience, with a large glass wall with a view of the Trinity Eaton Centre courtyard. Good variety of simple but tasty food options. Enjoyable atmosphere. Service is average.
