Tria Restaurant, Bar & Event Center
This was my first time visiting, so I need to give this another visit.
We were sat in a small side room, at a folding card table. The room was comfortable, but halfway through our meal, one waitress went to the thermostat and CRANKED the heat at the request of one guest seated right inside the door. Other people were sitting comfortably, some even in short sleeves. It was certainly not chilly. But it quickly become unbearably warm.
The crab cake appetizer was decent. I've had better quality crab, but this certainly wasn't bad. The scallop appetizer was severely undercooked. I am well aware that scallops should be rare/raw in the center. This was pretty much raw throughout to the point that it stretched in "strings" as I tried to cut it.
My wife ordered a pork chop with an apple compote topping. I thought it was delicious, but the apple compote was ICE cold (not even room temp). Very strange on top of a perfectly cooked pork chop.
I ordered a steak with potatoes and cipollini onions. I ordered it mainly because I LOVE cipollinis and don't see them often on a menu. I got a perfectly cooked steak with cocktail onions and baby potatoes.
Neither my wife nor I received anything but a butter knife to cut the pork chop and the steak. (The steak was pre-sliced, but the slices were rather large.) Cutting meat with a butter knife on a folding card table made a mess of the drinks.
The apple crisp was unique. I loved the spices, but my wife wasn't crazy about it. Either way, it was well made.
The creme brûlée was tasty, but one side had a VERY thick layer of caramelized sugar that I couldn't crack with the spoon. The other side had no sugar at all.
Lastly, the service was excellent. The waitress was perfect in every way. Attentive, asked before removing anything from the table, really timed her "visits" perfectly. I couldn't ask for anything better in service.
All in all, I need to go back. Maybe the kitchen was off their game the night I went.
Our waitress, Nadine, was excellent & explained meal options well. We had a very comfortable pace for our Valentine dinner. We had Steak Diane that was very tender & all the meal was exemplary! Enjoyed sitting a couple feet from the wood burning fireplace so stayed nice & toasty warm!! :)
This is always our favorite place! The BEST food & the BEST service!
Outstanding service. The food was incredible. Best scallops I’ve ever had. We were celebrating my wife’s birthday, and they went above and beyond to make it special. We look forward to going back.
Excellent food. Very busy.
Service and food were great
Once again, we had a lovely dinner at. Tria. The drinks, the wine, every meal ordered was perfection. Our waiter took such great care of us and checked in jot ensure we had everything that we needed. We are so happy to have such an excellent restaurant in the area, we love Tria and highly recommend to everyone.
Had a wonderful Steelhead Trout meal that was cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive at the right times. Wonderful date night with my husband.
Have not been here in a while. Still excellent food and service. Restaurant was very busy on our arrival but food and drinks arrived very quickly.
My husband and I come here often. The food is always spot on and tonight we had the sweetest server. Erika made our experience even more special than usual!
Best place to go for a birthday dinner.
Service was outstanding, knowledgeable and attentive.
Good food. Fries were just warm and beef bites were a bit gristly. Our other appetizers were delicious! Our server was amazing! He was very attentive without bothering you and had a very fun personality! Great experience!
My meal was hot but Donna’s pot pie was cold inside. They reheated it. Otherwise everything was good.
Always a good night for dinner at Tria Restaurant.
The service was a bit slow but they were willing to substitute a different cheese on a salad. They have a great birthday special!
My boyfriend and I went to Tria as a Christmas date. Although the crowd was mainly older, we didn’t feel too out of place. The ambience was pleasant and romantic. The food offerings were also a nice surprise (picky eaters should be able to find something they like). We went primarily because of the seafood options (boyfriend got the crab cakes and mentioned that they were very good). Overall, we both loved our experience and wouldn’t mind returning in the summer to try dining outside on their patio.
Great food great ambience prices are slightly expensive but there is good value due to overall wonderful experience!!!
And Violet made some amazing cocktails!!!
Excellent meal, except for the stuffed Mahi being rather dry/overcooked on the edges. The stuffing was delicious!
First time visit. Amazing place. We will be back for sure. The food was great. Surf and Turf with the Crab Cake was Delicious!!!
It’s been a few years since we’d been to Tria, and a kid free movie date provided us with an excellent opportunity.
They have really stepped up the menu! Better ingredients, more sophisticated tastes... they really raised their game! Had we known, we would have probably just made the date the entire meal!
What a gem in the northeast burbs! Can’t wait to go back!
Kelli, our server was superb as was our meal of tender steak & garlic mashed potatoes. The wedge salad was very fresh as was the
Triä also has a birthday special on wine. Very special!
Tria is a good local restaurant to dine. I had the salmon and it was delicious!! Wine list is pretty good too! It’s a pleasant space and nicely decorated for the Holidays.
I brought friend to brunch who had never been to Tria before. I am pleased to say that she enjoyed her breakfast and looks forward to another visit. Our server was great and the food for brunch was perfect.
Our first time visit at Tria!!!! Everything was very good. We'll be back for sure.
The ambiance was very nice. Dim lite, quiet. The food was spectacular. We even requested a couple of menu modifications and that was no problem. Our server was prompt, friendly and efficient. It was our anniversary so she added desert ant champagne as well. Will definitely return.
Fantastic food. We both had tornados. Wife had salid. I had a a very good mushroom soup.
We enjoyed our Sunday evening dinner, but noted some things that did not meet our anticipations from previous dinners there. The bread basket contained only bread, not any of the seeded crackers we have enjoyed in the past, and the mixed greens salad did not have the sliced fennel described in the menu (which has happened on some other occasions). We noted some changes to the menu, which is to be expected, but my husband and I found the changes to the scallop entree from cous-cous to risotto to be less appealing upon trying it. Also found out the Apple Cinnamon Cobbler we’d planned on for dessert was not available, because they do not serve it on Sundays due to the morning brunch. Will definitely go back, but will probably avoid Sunday evenings.
We wanted a place for family to gather to honor my Mom who passed away last fall and whose birthday we were celebrating. We were a party of 7.
The restaurant was easy to find and very gorgeous. Just a fun place to walk into. The atmosphere was friendly and cozy. Everyone was satisfied with their meal from appetizer to dessert. We will definitely be returning!
The food was good but nothing special or over the top excellent. The service was a little erratic and we were seated near the kitchen and it was not a peaceful environment.
Delicious food and our waiter nick was fabulous! He made the whole dining experience better. We all finished our dinner and many had dessert.
We brought my mom to Tria for her birthday as it’s her favorite restaurant. The service was great, the food was outstanding, everyone enjoyed their meal. We love the menu as there are so many options. We had a wonderful evening, thank you!
Very high quality cuisine, although I think the chef or server was off for our visit with several misses and mistakes. Usually this is a great spot with thoughtful dishes. Also, we were seated by the kitchen which is extremely noisy but the other parts of the restaurant are a little better. The patio is great when open too.
The Birthday wine offer is an excellent value. There are so many great options for food I had a tough time deciding on what to order. I picked the pot pie. It was excellent. My wife picked the evening fish special. That too was excellent. The food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. We were seated in a booth for the first time. I really liked the booth. We had a very enjoyable birthday celebration dinner. P.S. the night before we also ate a Tria. We enjoyed the bar area and the Sun all day happy hour. We ordered 3 items off the happy hour menu they were excellent.
My husband & I frequent Tria a LOT ~ last Saturday I brought my son & his girlfriend for dinner. The bar was full & restaurant had many open tables at 5:30pm I checked in with the host (who happened to be the GM) & he said he couldn't seat, they are full unless we had a reservation. We left & in the car I went on Open Table & learned there were many open reservations at 5:45, 6:00, 6:15, etc. ~ I made a reservation at 5:45pm & returned to the restaurant. The Host said Open Table is wrong & after much discussion he sat us (by the kitchen but at least we got a table). We love the Tria & were disappointed during this visit.
The brunch was most enjoyable. Great service, delicious food choices and lovely ambiance.
Went with friends for restaurant week. The mushroom soup was divine, all the entrees delicious and dessert was excellent! We chose a terrific bottle of wine. The server was top notch, so I will hope to return soon, and highly recommend.
The food here is excellent. We started with the crab cake and it was so creamy and filled with bright delicious crab... tasted like there were no bread crumbs for filler - lovely. I ordered the ribeye - delicious and my husband got the scallops - also delicious. We each tried a veggie side: corn succotash and roasted Brussels sprouts - both sides were exceptional. We thought the scallops were overpriced - $28 for 3 not huge normal-sized scallops - wow. Thought for that size & price there should have been 5 or 6. Startlingly small portion for the price. Our waiter was nice & professional. We were seated at a table off in the corner so we could not enjoy the views or fireplace, etc. also, as we were finishing up, a group was seated near us that had moved from the bar area - they were so loud it hurt our ears - we hurried to pay the bill and leave. Overall, we’re glad we tried it and it was a nice place to celebrate my birthday!!
Great food and service
Really nicely plated Sunday Brunch. The food was very good, portions not very big. Lovely, quiet dining room. My one complaint was the surcharge that was added on the bill to supplement employee costs. I am all for tipping for good service, and I do. But I am losing respect for restaurants that cannot manage their own costs and wind up adding yet another charge on to the bill to cover them. It just appears to be another way to nickel and dime your customers.
