This is my favorite place for brunch, the menu for brunch is not large but everything is the best.
Well we decided to go for the brunch. Everything was on point. The caviar was amazing.
Service was not as good as usual.
The food is so good. Amazing. Beautiful and tasty.
We had the worst experience at Tres last night. When we walked in a little before 7pm on a Saturday night it was absolutely empty which was the first red flag. We were seated at a dirty table that had not been cleaned and set with new silverware & plates. There were crumbs all over the table. We ordered 2 Ay Margaritas which were just OK. We then ordered the chicken croquettes and mussels. The mussels arrived without the bread that they were suppose to be served with. They also arrived cold and undercooked. I got sick later that night from the under cooked mussels. I politely told the server that the mussels were undercooked when he asked how our appetizers were... surprisingly he didn't seem to care that we were served a cold dish that should have been hot. Next we ordered the short ribs and sea bass which were good but nothing special. Lastly we had the cookies & ice cream for dessert which were good but I could have made better cookies at home.
The service was inconsistent which was surprising since we were basically the only people in the restaurant. For what we paid this was a serious disappointing dining experience. From beginning to end I just kept wondering how Jose Andres has his name on this restaurant... a ruined Saturday night :-(
Did DineLA. Appetizer and dessert were quite good but the two main courses we tried were embarrassingly bad. Lamb ragout that was tasteless and pork belly that was gross. Server was very nice and took the price of one person off the bill. Worst part was they brought out a dish of fried to a crisp pork belly so that we “could experience it the way it was intended”. WHAT? It was so dry and disgusting. A real chef never would have served this.
We enjoyed the dineLA menu and service was exceptional. Always a winning meal/experience!
We went for the DineLA menu. We brought our 20 mo old toddler, who spent most of the time running around the area we were seated at. And checking out an empty banquet room with mirrors, which he liked a lot. Fortunately, the place was not busy, so it was not a problem, and no one bothered us (nor we them).
The burrata salad and scallop appetizers were very good. The pork belly /octopus combnation was great. The pan roasted cod (regular menu) was fabulous and the best of the night actually. the desserts (flan and coconut tapioca) were fine.
We had a good time, and the staff were very nice to us and the runaround guy. It worked out for us, your mileage may vary.
On Jan 4th, I made a reservation for a party of 10 for an afternoon tea which took place on Sat, Jan 11. On Jan 9th, I called to update my reservation to 15 people but host said she was only able to accommodate 13 people which I accepted. Shortly after, I received an email notification of the change in reservation. Despite all of those efforts, the preparation for this party of 13 was so unacceptable and inadequate. I had high expectations but quite disappointed and this view was shared amongst all of my guests.
Due to the amount of people in our party, we had to sit on high chairs with marble top tables. I knew this coming in because the host had informed me about it during the reservation process.
Everything was fine up until the time for us to select from the Prix Fixe Afternoon Tea Menu. Three of the teas from the menu were unavailable to be selected from because they ran out and there was only one waitress to take orders from all of us. The waitress, however, didn’t make notes of who was ordering what, so the distribution of the tea was in such chaos because the other servers were not made aware of our selections. They came out and asked us who was ordering what. Who has the Imperial Earl Grey, Chamomile, and so on.
Additionally, the reservation was for 13 people, however, they didn’t have enough tea pots for all 13 of us!!!! There were 6 tea pots, and 7 other teas were placed in what looked like coffee serving carafes but I was glad that they were double walled to keep the tea warm. At first I thought they placed hot water on the table for refills which they should never do, so I asked the waitress, she said they were running out of tea pots so they had to put it in there. Shouldn’t they had informed us in the beginning that they were low on teapots so we are aware and don’t order them? I am very very sad and disappointed , perhaps, feel insulted that it didn’t live up to the brand, Jose Andres.
There are characters limits otherwise I would go on.
Couches are very uncomfortable for eating. Sea Bass is very good, but Patatas Bravas were really bad, almost a joke as they are only chips with salsa. nothing more.
Staff was not attentive. Caviar was fishy. We had to ask for water 3 times, before receiving any.
Tres is a great idea and the room is nicely done (though a bit bright with the lighting). The food is tasty. But none of that matters if the service is poor. I had a 7:00 reservation on a Thursday night. There was no one there to greet me for five minutes. A waiter eventually came by and told me to sit wherever I wanted. No one came by for another 10 minutes - no water, no waiter, no one. When they finally came by, it took forever to receive our drinks. Once the food arrived, again, there was no one checking on the table for long periods. Our waiter told us that he would be gone for 30 minutes (presumably on break). That's fine, but NO ONE came by while he was gone. 30 minutes. No one. I could not recommend the restaurant, despite the fact that the food was really good.
Our experience at Tres was poor. I went there with a party of five for Christmas dinner. The restaurant was understaffed. The service was slow because food items came late or out of order. For example, we ordered ceviche, which was supposed to come with banana chips. After getting the ceviche, we got the banana chips after we had almost finished the ceviche. Next we were promised bread rolls at the beginning of the service, but we were only given them after complaining, and after we were halfway finished with our entrees. The worst was the seating. We were seated at a low table with a small couch on one side. It was a setup that belonged in a bachelor's pad, not a restaurant. The table was so low my knees would not fit under it (I am 6'1" tall). The sofa seat was slanted back, so you had to struggle to sit up to eat. It was very uncomfortable seating, which made the meal a very unpleasant experience.
Glad to have returned to Tres for Christmas after several years’ absence.
Food even better than before with a continuing emphasis on quality rather than quantity, and with thr same harmonious ambiance and service.
Always a good brunch/buffet value, even with their holiday pricing.

Potato bravas was mediocre and overpriced. Crab claws were the highlight of the brunch buffet. Lots of salty food in the brunch selection. Flan was excellent for dessert. Service was sub par. We felt like we were forgotten and had to wait a long time for our check.

The food was great at Trés. Great service with awesome food. The tomato bread is always lovely. We started with the Cheese tray and then I had the roasted chicken. Large portion, very moist and flavorful.
The seating was very odd with couches and chairs at low tables. That was the only thing that was wrong with the meal.
Hello. Tres by Jose Andres was a one of a kind experience. I felt when we were having dinner that we were sitting in our own living room.nit was so warm, cozy and Intimate. I really liked the fireplace. It enlightened the room. The food was delectable. I had the short ribs with cheddar grits. The ribs were fork tender. My mom had the Shrimp in a skillet. The sauce was a light tomato sauce served with a grilled bread they import from Spain. My 12 year old daughter is still one who likes children’s menu food items. That restaurant did not disappoint. According to this picky eater the best crispy French fries she’s ever had. The chicken tenders were soft and tasty. So the service was so personal and our server was so accommodating. We had to see a theater show by a certain time so she made sure the food came out quickly. She made us feel like we were long lost friends. I would high.y recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an intimate dining experience.
The staff went out of their way to accommodate my food allergy to the extent that they prepared tasting dishes for me so I would not miss out on items on the buffet. The foos was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful, relaxing and comfortable.
Kiara was a wonderful server who took extra time to help my girlfriend with her cold by getting her a nice chamomile tea with fresh squeezed ginger..! She took care of us from start to finish and made the meal that much more wonderful.
The food was the best Thanksgiving meal at Tres in seven years of going there for my favorite holiday...
Very nice dinner for a wonderful day
I had a friend visiting from out of town and this was the perfect place to have a long catch up session. The staff was great and didn't rush us during out 3.5 hours brunch. They seated us right in an cozy area with a fireplace which was amazing. The bottomless bubble bar was a major plus.
We had a Tea reservation for 3pm. The service was exceptionally slow. It took nearly an hour to get our drinks (wine and tea). And well over an hour and a half for food. We nearly called it tbh.
We were offered a glass of Cava. But dude to the extent of the delay, they should have comped the drinks we were drinking - they were a few dollars more. At the very least. I would not recommend the Tea service here. And only go it if you have plenty of time. We were very excited to celebrate here and sadly it was very disappointing
Service was extremely slow . we ordered the hummus starter didn't come with enough pita so when we asked for more was changed an extra $7!!!
Our reservation was for 12:00 and we reached there five minutes before and seated right way. Our server came and took our order in five minutes. She was very friendly and courteous. Food was excellent and more than we could eat, so we brought home. Ambiance was cool. I am going to recommend to my friends.
Sunday afternoon tea with Travelzoo vouchers. Beautiful venue with elegant decor. Quiet atmosphere for conversation. Food is delicious but very small portion. My friend and I finished all the items included in the afternoon tea menu but had to order extra dish from the regular menu. Service is super slow but the waitress served us is very friendly and she is the only one worked there. They need to hire more staff for the attentive service. Awesome tea and coffee ☕️
First time to check -in and I'm very impressed and satisfied with my overall experience at TRES!
Nice place calm and private setting great value and taste. We will come back and explore more and try the happy hour.
My daughter and I went for tea. The brunch at Tres is outstanding. However, the tea service left alot to be desired. First, it took about 10 minutes to seat us and then another 10 minutes for our server to come to our table (this was from 3-3:30). The food was good but not outstanding and for $55 pp, I expect it to be outstanding. We love brunch at Tres and dinner at The Bazaar but we will not be back for tea.
Considering it's located in the SLS hotel, and with Bazaar being so remarkable...I was not impressed with Tres. I was expecting the service to match the quality and ambiance of the place. So it took away from really enjoying our time there.
What an amazing experience. The food was perfect and the staff was attentive but not overwhelming. They noticed that one person in the party was using a cane so took the time to find a table that would be most comfortable for her. That attention to detail plus the solid food and wine made for a perfect evening. Thank you!
The food was great, we went on a Friday night, it was strangely slow, yet the dishes came so slow.
The food and service was good. There were only a few diners at the resturant, it was fairly empty. But when we left, the parking manager was extremely rude to us. The parking attendant had told us that parking was $8 with validation from the resturant but we were shocked that the parking was actually $22, $14 for 2hrs with resturant validation then $8 an hr after that. We were just over 2 hrs when we left and I questioned the parking manager about the high cost. He was not nice about the misunderstanding and I would never go back to the resturant at the SLS Hotel. They were so unhelpful and outright rude. We would have parked on the street if we were properly informed.
I cannot say enough about our dining experience.The customer service quality of food and the atmosphere are all top notch. Can’t stop thinking about the food cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend
I have never been anywhere like it! The Decour is completely unique. The food is delicious and very special. The service is fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and show my husband.
The food quality is fair. We ordered brunch entree dishes with side. My friend chose chips for the side. We expected homemade chips. Later on, we got a bag of market chips on our table.
A luxury collection hotel services a bad of market chips not even put the chips in a decent bowl or dish?
I would not mind paying more tips for dishwashing fee.
Great food, service and ambiance
It really depends on why you choose Tres. I was looking for a place that was romantic to take my husband to celebrate his birthday. #1 it is WAY too bright. We asked to lower the lighting, though were told they were set the way the restaurant designer had intended? The place was very slow and the service slower, but that was because there was an episode of "Shahs of Los Angeles" filming there in the rear of the restaurant...well that should tell you something too. Our server was very good and apologetic and the food was quite good and tasty. Truthfully, if you don't mind it being bright and there are no filming crews, you might just enjoy it.

Good location , food is average to good , but for $90 per person they seem very limited on the champagne .. our service was good , but the assistant manager John was rude and unprofessional .. I poured 5 glasses of champagne for our table .. he advised each person had to pour their own .. our waitress brought us two bottles to our table .. we our regular customers but he made are visit less and enjoyable by his lack of knowledge and attitude ...
