We sat at the bar and had excellent service! Food was outstanding, make sure to always try the volcanic rock cooking!
Wonderful dinner and exceptional service!! I made my special occasion even more special!
Food over priced quality okay lobster tail small for$20 and risotto undercooked service was good though.
Service was amazing and the food was delicious. Will be back again!
We celebrated 2 Birthdays one was 16 and one was 40. The food was great and Mike our server was very friendly and attentive.
They need a better desert menu. Service is hit and miss.
The waiter never came back to see if we were ok. We asked for bernaise sauce and never got it and then we waited so long for our check we never got desert and were late for our show at the Parker Performing Art Center. Disappointed, normally this place is better.
The food here is very good. Romancing the stone is fun and you can cook your steak to exactly the way you want it.
The service can be slow on some days but overall it's a great restaurant.
It was our first time at Trapper so we didn’t know what to expect. Even though there was a view of some of Parker’s lights, it was hard to see once we were sitting. When we got our Lobster, my date’s order was wrong. Between the time we notified someone that there was a problem with the order and our meals finally getting back to our table, the food was cold. We were hungry so, we didn’t say anything more. But for the prices (and the did take some off our check), the food should have been served at the proper temp. Also, there is an option to cook your food at your table! The smoke from others that took advantage of this option, filled the dining room. We smelled of smoke and my eyes were burning by the time we left. I will recommend Trappers to others but, I will also tell them what to expect.
Hot Rock is great. Steak was excellent. Drinks were excellent. Mark and Andy provided great service.
I find Trappers consistency good, and it’s great to have fine dining so close to home.
After reading positive reviews of Trappers, I thought we were in for a nice birthday dinner for my wife. Once it was all said and done, it was a let down instead. I tried a stead on the "Romancing the Stone" menu thinking that would be a fun experience. The teenager who brought my food out had no clue about what the best way to cook the steak was. No advice whatsoever. So here I am with a steak and a 500 degree stone. I let it cook for a few minutes per side and cut into it to find it still raw at the center, I cut some slices off to quicker cooking only to get it to medium. I would have thought that if that's their schtick, they would give patrons some advice or tips on how to cook your steak to your liking. I would have asked our waiter as well, but he didn't bother to stop by until we were completely done with our meal. If Trappers is going to try to act like a premier steak house, they have a long way to go. Not even a mention of my wife's birthday either which was a tad disappointing as I did mention it on the reservation. Oh well, not going to go back.
The food was good and the service was ok. I guess I expected more because of the prices.
Frequent visitor to Trapper's ever since they opened. Never had a bad experience there, excellent food & service and "Romancing the Stone" is great fun. Highly recommended.
Good service, not great but good. Food is always spot on, very good. Wife has Lobster and I had Steak. Onion soup was ok, would not order again.
Restaurant needs to be updated, new vibe. Its old
Very warm welcome on arrival. Appetizers arrived quite quickly and were the best part of the meal.Quite a long wait until the entree arrived and we were very disappointed to see that it was on a plate rather than the “stone” as advertised. We mentioned to the server that we were disappointed as we had been looking forward to that experience. He apologized and said it was his fault as he had asked how we would like our steaks cooked and presumed we wanted it plated ! Also he got the cooking of our steaks the wrong way around....which would have been alright had we chosen the same cut!
All in all a very disappointing experience.
Our waiter Stephan was was wonderful and the food was outstanding!
The filet mignon is excellent here. The Trappers sirloin steak is tough. When you ask for medium cooked, some of it will be rare. Best to ask for medium well. Bartender was new and made a very bitter cocktail. The waiter was kind and exchanged it for us. They try hard here. Just be careful what you order. Setting is nice and it was quiet.
The ambiance was not so all what I expected. Hidden on the fourth floor of a nice, but nothing special Holiday Inn. Big bar area with sports on televisions. Not the romantic steakhouse atmosphere I expected. The service was also lackluster. Not bad but not upscale and given the restaurant was almost empty, the service could have been more attentive. The steak Oscar was outstanding and the filet on the volcanic rock was delicious and fun to cook at the table. I’d return for the food but the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired.
You have to have order from the Romancing The Stone part of the menu. It is so much fun to cook your premium steak on a hot lava rock!
It took way too long to get our food and the piano music was a bit too loud couldn't hear over it.
We made a reservation about an hour before we went in and were seated without problem. The shrimp appetizer left a little to be desired (4 large shrimp that tasted like they'd been defrosted from frozen). Our entrees were delicious. We decided to forgo the stone experience at our table and had the kitchen prepare our steaks. They were prepared just as we asked.
Not the quietest, most romantic place, but the piano player was great and we enjoyed our anniversary dinner.
Noise level overrode all other complaints. Waiter was not the best but could have lived with him. Seemed to be a lot of women couples eating there that night. Neither good nor bad; just a comment.
I met an old friend who was visiting town at Trapper's for dinner. We were professionally greeted, and sat at a nice table. Our server, Michael, was fantastic and provided great information and recommendations. We each order the Elk tenderloin dinner which was properly cooked to our liking and was delicious. Our sides of creamed spinach and sautéed mushroom were a nice complement to the meal. The one critique I have is that the side vegetables that accompanied the meal, carrots/asparagus, were barely Luke Warm when the meal arrived, and cold after just a few bites. I didn't finish them.
Wine list was respectable and resonably priced.
I would recommend and return for a future meal.
We live in the area and have been at Trapper's several times since they originally opened and owned by Terrell Davis (Broncos). Food and service is always consistent and good. Live music is a treat and typically more of a background / non-obtrusive variety, which is pleasing. Easy to have a private conversation without crazy "background" noise. The wine list is very good!!!
We made a reservation at 8pm for our Anniversary. we were sat right away but we never got waited on. No one brought water to our table offered to take our drink order, or said they would be right with us. My husband made eye contact with several waiters but no one ever cam over so we got up and left after 25 minutes of waiting and went to Saltgrasd next door where we received excellent immediate service.
Very nice. my steak was somewhat tough but tastey. I had made our reservation to celebrate our 63 rd wedding anniversary. The front desk was aware of the occasion, but our excellent server was not. dissappointed
There were four of us and each person ordered a different dinner and all entrees were amazing and we all took food home. It was a quiet night at the restaurant, probably due to the fact that there was a Broncos pre-season game and a Rockies game. All of us have been there before on a very busy night, so it was kind of nice to have the quiet. The guitar player/singer was entertaining and music was soft enough that you could have a nice conversation. We were also surprised with a free birthday desert that was big enough for all of us.
I wish I could remember our servers name but she was incredible very attentive and great menu knowledge! The staff worked well as a team and the live music was amazing ! Thank you for a great experience! I am in the service industry and my family doesn’t go to fine dining very often but I was beyond impressed with the food the staff and the wine of course ! Thank you trappers for taking such great car of us !
Food and service was great! There was a fair amount of noise coming from the bar area.
The food and service were excellent. We had dinner early 5:30 pm on a week night so it was busy but not totally full. The bread they brought to the table was outstanding. Everything about the meal was wonderful. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu items. Would highly recommend for special occasions.
The food was amazing and the ambiance was delightful! It is a little pricey, but well worth it for a special occasion.
Super unique, really loved the food and the atmosphere!
Great menu and unique steak experience with stone platter
Romancing the stone is fun, cooking your own steak on a lava rock, but you can have the kitchen do it. Service is great. The sweet potato mashers laced with chipotle is delicious. Not cheap, but worth it for something special.
We were visiting from NY and wanted to take everyone, including 3 kids to a nice dinner. The food was delicious, especially the steaks, which were cooked perfectly. The jalapeño cheddar mashed potatoes were great. The kids menu has a very affordable and extensive selection. The portions are big too. We had cocktails which were very nice. The service was impeccable by Gabrielle. The view is beautiful. I will visit again next time I go to Colorado.
Overall this place was nice the menu had great options but the steaks we ordered were over done...by a lot and we waited a long time to get them. Service was amazing though our waiter really was great!
The food was very good ! Service was on the spot. Temperature in the restaurant was a bit warm, then seated next to a window (with shade down) made it even warmer. Not too many tables were occupied (6;30 Sat. Night) so noise level was good. Live piano player was nice — better if he didn’t sing. 😆
Probably my favorite steakhouse in the area. Good service, great views.
Service was overall good but seemed a little pushy just wanted to relax and enjoy the evening with friends
Piano was way too loud as we will sit further next time. Could not really carry a conversation without speaking loud enough to be understood especially across the booth
