This classic restaurant is maintaining 6 feet at least distance inside. No valet! Famous mai tais still delicious. Bar seating area distance enforced . Felt safe while dining. Menu is better, too! Great except as usual!
Saturday afternoon fun. Service was a bit slow—even with seating at 50% capacity. It looked like there was only one waitress working the main dining room and outdoor patio. Still made for a relaxing afternoon.
Nice drinks. Good service. Great views of the harbor. Food is overpriced
First time we have been to Trader Vic’s in Emeryville . The service was excellent , as were the cocktails . Food was served hot and it was delicious . Can’t wait to go again . 😎😎😎
It felt so good being inside TV’s, at our favorite window seat! The Server was excellent. Everybody & Everything was spot on! Perfect lunch to celebrate getting vaccinated!
The food and service were excellent, but the size of the main courses were very small.
I wish I would have asked the server how big the portions were before ordering.
As always, food and ambiance were great! Not to mention the MaiTais!!!
Even in the Covid era Trader Vic stands out for the quality of food and service. Had my birthday dinner here and first sit down restaurant experience in over a year. The Mai Tai is Trader Vic’s gift to the world and they do it well. I recommend a visit when in the area.
Service was great. Food was great. Drinks were amazing! Covid protocols in place. Thank you!
We had the Pre-fixed Easter menu and it was wonderful. There were 7 courses--3 appetizers, cream cauliflower soup, then sliced ham, beef with sauteed mushrooms, blackened Brussel sprouts, yams with marshmallows, green beans with fried onions on top, and peach cobbler for dessert. Each item on the menu was delicious and we had plenty to take home too! We love Trader Vic's!!!
Plenty of staff and food. Everyone was pleased with the table location. amount of food and quality. Thank you.
Easter dinner was not advertised as a brunch with no substitutions on open table so we had to leave
How can you go wrong with Trader Vic’s? Wonderful old school tiki atmosphere, incredible drinks, friendly servers, and wonderful food. Absolutely perfect.
This place was absolutely a great experience. The food was amazing and the service was even better!
Trader Vic's did a wonderful job at social distancing. We ended up eating indoors as it was windy and too cold outside. Everything and everybody was pleasant, and it was a comfortable feeling to eat inside (the first time in over a year).
Great food, service and views! Drinks were nice and strong as well. Would definitely recommend
Still eerie to dine in such a quiet bar area with social-distancing and masking in place, but it worked just fine and the meal/drinks were fantastic as always. I had the volcano shrimp and a Tututupo Tiki (which presented as a Zombie, close enough) - excellent. Family enjoyed it and we stayed for dessert. Great location in Emeryville and will be back!
BRING A PILLOW.
The burger was not up to their regular standards and we will not go back for awhile until they can get their kitchen more together
Food quality was as good as ever. Thank you Trader Vic’s. Glad to have you back!
Best Mai Tai and the Fish & Chips were delicious, one of the best.
They removed a half of tables so it looked a little empty but all the tables were occupied while we were there.
The view is always the best.
One time, I felt like that I was floating. Maybe I had too much Mai Tai.
Our server, Shakeel was the best.
First lunch out after the 2nd vaccine shot.
Wonderful drinks and decent food. A bit pricey but worth it - especially considering the history behind this establishment and Mr Bergeron’s role as one of the grandfathers of Tiki. We were also delighted that our server took the precaution of double masking - not just to protect herself but also TV’s customers. These days Covid safety precautions are just as important to us as any other traditional metrics in our enjoyment of a restaurant experience and Trader Vic’s did not disappoint.
Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere!!! The team was great, service standards met.
What a special evening with excellent service and delicious food and drink. Kudo's to Trader Vics!
Nice spaced out tables which kept the noise level down. Drinks are always top notch, food was fantastic as usual. No valet which is great because the parking lot is right there.
Ambience and location was great. Sadly the food was very disappointing - dry and tasted bland.
Beverages= strong, good Tiki variety, yet very pricey
Atmosphere: awesome Tiki vibe
Food: not fulfilling, bland and "Denny's-like", much room for great potential
May return for beverages only!
They just opened a week prior. Heater not working well. We all had on vests and jackets seated at the bar area tables. Limited bathroom capacity. No valet.
They will rally I imagine but not the usual TV experience at all.
So nice to be able to eat indoors with full service
The restaurant is large enough so they have everything spaced out safely
So, the best reason to come here is the cocktails, which are great, different, and make for a fun date. But I'm amazed at how bad the atmosphere was. First of all, the restaurant was freezing. I mean, their heat was completely turned off. Everyone inside was wearing a winter coat and my face, and my date's feet were frozen. It was just weird. Second, the noise level was weird. Despite being relatively full, there was generally only very quiet music, so everyone was hushed. It just had a weird feel, like we were in a high school gym or something. Some tropical music or something would have made it much more fun. Third, the hostess was not friendly at all, and our server was overly busy and we had to flag her down several times for more drinks/food/etc. We ended up not ordering dinner and only eating appetizers as we couldn't get our order in and just skipped it.
Early Saturday evening date with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed our dinner. We were initially seated outside but it got really cold and windy. The hostess was gracious and moved us inside. We love the tiki style and ambiance. Apps and drinks were on point. We shared the salmon and pasta as our mains and both were delicious. Great service and tasty food overall. Would definitely come back!
Main room not seating there, best room and not set up? Left did not stay
Food was excellent
Service was good
Because the restaurant sits on the Bay the patio was cold.
Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Beautiful day, delicious food and the ambiance was perfect
Outdoor dining during Covid. The weather and view of the bay cove was very nice. Was notified that a discount program in place for years was not valid during Covid. Nowhere was this shown on their website that we checked prior, in the restaurant, or on the menu. Thankfully, they allowed this one time use. The Maui Waui Shrimp, which included katsu slaw, was very good. My wife had intestinal issues later. The slaw is the only item not eaten by me and I had no issues. The 1/2 Crispy Duck meat was good. The pancakes that come with the dish were stiff and stuck to each other, not so fresh. The ribeye may have had the most marbling of any ribeye that I’ve had. Service overall was adequate. Would have given a higher score because of the one time discount use and the server’s effort to have that happen, but the food brings it down to a 2.
Delicious and wonderful . Love this Tiki place. Would go again.
Amazing as always ...
I had to check out Trader Vic’s, one of my favorite restaurants and offer my support. The deck was nice and we had a great day. We had the chicken sandwich and the Kalua pork. Both were outstanding. And, of course we had mai tais. Also spectacular.
We really enjoyed our evening. The restaurant was very nice and something new! And the view!!! The food was excellent - we all loved what we ordered! And the drinks were good and one came in a fish shaped glass!! We will definitely be back!!
