Been a patron for 10+ years. The food is authentic Italian, made with quality imported ingredients. The variety allows diners endless options suitable to any dietary restriction. Ambiance & staff are always kind and courteous. And by far, the best Gelato you will find anywhere in Utah, hands down. You can’t go wrong with Tuscano when looking for an affordable, yet, high-end Italian experience.
Thanks for all you do!
The food came out lukewarm and the waiter seemed rushed in everything. We sent one meal back to be reheated and it came back without the sauce. No manager ever came over. Not impressed by this visit.
There is variety on the menu but the quality was subpar at best. The pasta was gummy and starchy. The cream sauce was runny. The portion size was inconsistent: one pasta bowl was filled to the brim while anither barely covered the bottom of the bowl.
More expensive than I thought it would be. Waitress did an excellent job.
We go to Toscano for speciL occasions. I always order the seafood special. This time they didn't have a fish special so we ordered the steak. It was AMAZING! The steak was cooked perfectly and the taste was unbelievably delicious!
Great service & food!! The staff were very kind to my wife for her Birthday!!
The food was tasty and outstanding, it was our waitress that was just awful. She acted like she was either drunk or high on some thing. She took 45 mins to even take our orders, and my sister asked for some wine that the waitress didn't even bring her the wine until she brought our checks, and we even saw it was sitting on the counter for over 30 mins before that. She kept getting everyone's checks wrong, and even after explaining who had what 4 times we were all frustrated, and just paid what was on our receipts. Will go again only cause the food was amazing, but will request another waitress if we get the same one. Also the waiters there kept breaking dishes, I've never heard so many dishes shatter in one sitting
Great food. Just disappointed with the very casual attire of some of the patrons. Gym shorts and jersey? Come on folks.
It was okay! The food wasn’t as good as we thought it would be, especially for the price. It was a fun and beautiful atmosphere but we probably wouldn’t go again.
Chose to eat here because of friends recommendations and because they woul take a reservation. Food was very good and service was lovely. Pleasant ambiance but a little noisy. Recommend you try them out.
Carbonara was tasty! Wedge salad was delish! Our friends also liked the shrimp scampi too !
Sandwich was not that great. Bread served was pretty good. Did not like gelato. Lemon was too tart.
Our waiter was so attentive and professional felt bad for him. He had to serve poor food. Cioppino was tomato soup with store bought canned garlic, no salt/pepper or any seasoning. Sauce not cooked at all no depth. Minimal seafood and taking bites of small broken pieces of mussel and clam shells. for 36$??? Carmelized nuts in beet salad were stale and the signature drink was all pineapple juice. Server added extra gin then charged us $5.50 for it. Been a bartender and would never do that to a customer! Will never go back. Suggest changing the music from massage studio to Italian..... Just a weird ambiance with very poor food. Don't waste money...drive uptown.
Great service and excellent food
I was very happy with Toscano for my girlfriends birthday dinner. Their food was great, prices were good, and our service was excellent. My only two gripes were the ambience felt closer to a Chili’s with the noise level and multiple TVs on the wall, and it wasn’t a very romantic setting. I would highly recommend this place for a good dinner out, just not a special occasion.
Usually great food. I got one bad meal so I won't hold it against them.
They were understaffed, so we waited a while for service.
The appetizers were salty, over seasoned and the bread was dry.
The meals were mixed, half of our party had good meals, the other half terrible.
My fish was so dry, I could hardly eat it. The edges were burnt (and I did NOT order blackened).
The desserts were also mixed, the Keylime pie was good, the gelato was old and tasteless
Great food. I had never been there even though it's nearby my house. Will definitely recommend Toscano's to others and will go back.
We got very excited after the potato croquettes because they were so delicious as was the marinara. Unfortunately, neither mine or my husbands pastas were too impressive. I ordered the cacio e Pepe and it was sat in a pool of oil and there was almost no flavor. My husbands crab linguine also had a looser sauce and it was not super flavorful. The service was very nice though.
The food was excellent, the service wonderful. Highly recommended.
Everything was fantastic, the staff was amazing, and the food was well prepared!
Toscano never disappoints when it comes to great Italian food. My favorite is the Fettuccine De Mare. Their creme brulee is also delicious.
I am always underwhelmed by this restaurant. This place is a perfect example of the shortage of quailty Italian restaurants in Utah. This place would not survive in any other major metropolitan area except Utah. Their menu is so large now, they don't do anything well. Next up their menu will be sushi!
It was positive experience all the way
We eat here about once a year. The reservation process is seamless. The restaurant ambiance is just right, a little energy but still quiet enough for pleasant conversation. The service is consistently excellent. Appetizers and salads are well plated and nicely timed. Entrees are hit and miss. None are ever remotely approaching bad, but they range from excellent to okay. On this occasion, my wife had the Del Mar - it was quite good. The shrimp were nice and firm without being chewy, while the mussels were tender and flavorful. The sauce was well balanced and the pasta al dente. I had the daily chef special, a gnocchi with pesto. The pesto is some of the best I’ve had lately. The gnocchi was more firm than I expected, not bad, just more firm than I would prefer. To be clear, I did not send the gnocchi back (and I am not shy about sending back food that is unacceptable). I believe this was how the chef intended the dish, and I enjoyed it. Finally, dessert. I should stick with the gelato or creme brûlée - they always satisfy. I keep trying other desserts - this time the chocolate volcano and the Key lime pie. Again, they were okay, but neither was finished (and I order dessert to finish). In summary, great ambiance and service, somewhat inconsistent food.
Wonderful in every way. I am never disappointed at Toscano’s.
The Chicken Parmesan was overcooked and dry. It had no flavor. Service wasn’t as good as it was in the past.
Enjoyed our evening there were seven of us and everyone said they would come back I call that good
Really good food, this is one of our favorite places to eat!
Amazing! I always love the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant! The food was devoured! Our waiter’s service was impeccable! And the manger had things running like a gem!
Mediocre food, nothing stands out. Pizza not great, ravioli seems like it came from frozen, potato croquettes bland, fire roasted veggies came out like a salad, salmon caponata was decent. Service was ok, not horrible but not great either. Go downtown and find some authentic Italian.
The food did not taste good
Right away, they tried to seat us at the worst table, right beside the dishwasher and doors to the kitchen in the bar, in a moderately busy restaurant.
After asking twice, they moved us to a booth where the QR code for the menu didn't work and we were ignored. The server, as per usual these days, was way too busy. She did a great job for as many tables as she was balancing when we did finally see her. Service for drinks was quick, the lemonades are really good. We were dissapointed, as a nearly $40 seafood dish wasn't anything special, the shellfish of average amount and size. Pesto sauce on the gnocchi was good, chicken cooked perfectly. Creme brulee was average. I personally love the garden atmosphere, some may find the live trees in the dining room odd.. TLDR Average food, some great service and some poor, might come back to try other dishes, distinct ambiance.
Food was good. Ambiance was nice. Love the outdoor garden area. Service was not great. Took forever to get our drinks and even though we all wanted coffee and dessert, the waiter brought the check without even asking.
The food and service was great. The aesthetic of the main dining area however was very chaotic and not at all cohesive. It was cool that there were so many live trees and plants in the space but the art pieces on the walls were very bizarre and I was unsure if I was in a mafia film themed restaurant or a restaurant that was trying to be upscale.
Donna was excellent, and everything was perfect!
Great food, great service, great place for a date to celebrate an anniversary!
Really good food. Servers seems to be spread a bit thin, but these days that seems to be the norm.
