Our dinner was mediocre in every way. The service was inefficient, the cocktails were not properly made; both the Bruschetta appetizer and my entree of Fusilli and Sausage alla Vodka were both swimming in oil, and the entree had entirely too much cheese on it--every forkful was a stringy-cheese glob and it was difficult to eat. A young woman, possibly an assistant manager, kept up loud conversations with staff on the other side of the half-wall from our table, less than five feet from us, as she worked to fill paper bags with, presumably, take-out orders for pick-up. We had to flag down our waiter to order a second beverage. The only time he checked in with us to see if we needed anything was 10 seconds after someone else had delivered our plates. We had barely had time to pick up our forks. The outdoor seating, which we so enjoyed throughout the pandemic, is no longer available.

We love this restaurant. The food is always amazing, the restaurant is small and quaint and the drinks are delicious. We even get our family meals catered from Toscana in Beverly.

If you want an experience that will far exceed your expectations, go to Toscano’s on a Friday night. We had a waitress named Shannon , it starts and ends there! She was fabulous as was the food! The dishes were off the chart ….from the traditional chicken parm to the scallop risotto. We had spring rolls and eggplant rollatini for an appetizer both were made with love and care that was hard to match! The Signiture drinks were constructed with thought and attention to detail. Make a reservation you won’t be disappointed.! Thank you Shannon you helped make our dinner experience exceptional !

Jeana was an excellent server and paid attention to our needs! Thank you. The hightop table rocked the entire meal and needs to be fixed. The food was well prepared, I just didn't like one of the appetizers that I chose - that's on me. We will come again.

Better than the North End...equal to any restaurant in Italy! We were overwhelmed by the outstanding food and the attentive service! Twenty-four hours later, we are still raving about our meal. Don't pass up this gem!

Food was very good. As long as you are not in a hurry, service is also very good. The kitchen is small, so it takes time for the food come out. The restaurant was very busy and had a lot of takeout orders. So, definitely a local favorite.

A real gem! The menu was loaded with wonderful selections. The hardest part of the evening was deciding which of the appealing listings we wanted. Guess we'll have to go back a few times to determine which is best. (and get some of the wonderful bread while picking the next meal to try)

The food, service and atmosphere were all really acceptable. The portions were generous, well presented, and tasted good. The mussels would be better served in a flat bowl so one could get to the sauce which is the real one orders mussels. The deep metal bowl did not help though it looked impressive.

Our experience at Toscano was outstanding!! Our server, Sheena, was incredibly personable and made our experience just perfect! She hooked us up with mocktail options from the bar and helped us navigate gluten free options from their menu, including a request for a GF modification to one of the restaurant’s nightly dinner specials. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. 110% highly recommend Toscano and, specifically, Sheena as your server! You won’t be disappointed!!

Nice Ambiance. Not too loud considering its size and the bar being in the same room as tables. Tables amply separated. Tablecloths and nice upscale led table lamp. Food was good, although somewhat disappointed that they must have forgotten the prosciutto on the saltimboca and ordered the fried burrata but was fried mozzarella Ordered linguine but it looked like spaghetti. Odd since they weren’t overly busy. All in all we’d definitely go back, curious to try other dishes. We’d share some smaller apps since the portions are large. Give it a try!

The Kona ribeye was just not good. All ribeyes are fatty, but this one was much fattier than usual and there just wasn’t enough tasty meat. The salad I ordered (arugula and beet) was very good, but it came at exactly the same time as my ribeye. No draft beer was available, due to an issue with their CO2 pressure system. My son, daughter in-law, and I ordered two espresso martinis (a total of 6), but got charged for 8. They fixed the bill, but…… I rated the restaurant with 3 stars. It could have been 2 stars. My girlfriend’s chicken parmigiana was really good, though.

Too noisy for me. The food was just a blend of non descriptive flavors. The drunk young men they sat next to me didn’t help. The two men sucked down two espresso martini’s and now they were wired with louder vulgar talking. After they sucked down their appetizer and left food littering the table that couldn’t be directed into their mouths, I watched the young men cross the street, one stagger so bad it was hard to watch. Not a great experience.

Wonderful service! The food is really Italian (north and south). The linguine and sauce was really first-class. My husband's meal (eggplant) was a bit large but also good. We look forward to going back soon.

Three friends and I had an early dinner there on a Sunday. The service was attentive and not rushed. The food came out in a timely manner. Three of us had the shrimp risotto and two cleaned their plates but it was too salty for the third person to eat much of it; the salty bacon overpowered it for her.

I was upset that I made reservation for dinner and specifically asked for table by front window. When I arrived we were not seated there and was told that table was reserved for a larger party. One hour after we arrived a party of two was seated there and was alone throughout their meal. Not sure I understand the politics. Btw our waitress Shannon was awesome. Please respond Bob

This was our first time at Toscana and we loved everything about it! We had a reservation and were promptly seated. Service was excellent and food was amazing! We will definitely be back! Reservations highly recommended as the restaurant is on the smaller side.

The food was superb. The service (Gina) was Devine. We loved the venue and ambiance. We noticed how the sound level and ease to talk was very enjoyable. We came in From Portland Maine where we have several great restaurants. We were in town to see Brian Culbertson at the Cabot theater. We searched online for a fabulous restaurant and Toscana Bar Italiano exceeded our expectations. Hope you will set up a restaurant in Portland! Thank you, Keep up the Great work.
