Enjoyed the meal. A large party near us was very loud, waiter could have been a little more attentive, for example she didn't ask if I wanted another glass of wine and when I finally got her attention to order one my meal was almost finished before it arrived, and she served my husband first and then reached across him and his plate of food to serve me.

Amazing view from the table, and a perfect place to have a nice Valentines day. Service was quick, and between courses allowed for enough time to want to eat more. Dishes were well paired with the wine, and over all a great ending to a night!

I took my wife for an early Valentine's Day Dinner. I was told that their was no available window seating - tables with a view overlooking the city - yet I observed open spaces throughout our entire three course meal. The appetizers were good but I wasn't thrilled with my entree of duck. Desert was absolutely amazing and I would return for this reason alone. The service I received from the wait staff was also above and beyond. The price was above average but not stratospheric. You're definitely paying for the name and ambience. Demand seating with view and the time of reservation and you should be fine.

Very attentive waitstaff during Detroit Restaurant Week. Food was wonderful. Lobster bisque had nice pieces of lobster. Duck and risotto were well prepared and flavored. Creme Brulee needed to set more.

We went for restaurant week and where do I begin? First of all, they were not busy; we were seated with our restaurant week menu and the standard menu but no drink list. It took us 15 minutes to be served water and request the drink menu, another 20 minutes before our drink order was taken, time from seating to first drink being served: 50 minutes. This was after another waiter tried to help by bringing a glass of white wine and a glass of red wine to our table and asking: Who gets the white and who gets the red? Since 5 of us ordered wine, 3 whites and 2 reds, none of which were the same, we had to ask him what they were...shockingly, he responded with, white and red!! He finally went back to the bar and asked, came back and still seemed flustered by the fact that we all ordered different types of wine..this went on for 10 minutes. It then took another 30 minutes before our appetizers arrived, after we finished those, we had to stop the waitress and request more water and ask if we could get some bread for the table, since everyone else around us had been given a basket when they were first seated. We arrived with another party of 6 and were seated near each other, and the timing of our meals varied so drastically it's hard to believe we were even in the same restaurant. We hadn't even gotten our appetizer before they were given their entree, they had left the restaurant 30 minutes before our dessert arrived! Being restaurant week, our entire order was put in upfront, but it wasn't until we finished our dinner, waiting the now traditional 20 extra minutes between steps before seeing the waitress again, when she finally returned to tell us that they had served the last of one of the desserts 3 of us had ordered. By this point it was just adding additional salt to the lack-luster meal we had been served that it almost didn't matter. This was our first and last experience here. Reservation @ 7pm, time the check arrived, 9:50 pm...set menu & not busy.

Came in at 6:30, did not get dinner til 7:50pm. Took 25 min to get our first drink. The service was poor. When I came in, saw all the furniture was ivory fabric and there were stains on my seat. They ran out of 1 dessert and just brought out something else without asking what my 2 friends wanted instead. When our orders were taken, our waiter went straight to the men first ( even my husband thought that was inappropriate). I was so excited to go there, however, now I know I will not be returning. By the way, this was on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was at 60% capacity.

My first time visiting this restaurant. I went during Detroit Restaurant Week so the menu is fixed, but still a decent selection. The view of the Detroit River and skyline is fabulous - no doubt about it. The decor is clean and welcoming. The lighting was perfect - not too dark and not too bright. It was a little loud for some reason - could have been the flooring that wasn't carpet and therefore didn't absorb any of the sound. The service is AMAZING. Paul is one of the best servers I have ever encountered. He has great recommendations, is polite and super attentive. Ask to be seated in Paul's section. I had the lobster bisque - first time having that soup and it was good, but not great. Their bread and butter is amazing I must say - even though I usually avoid gluten. I had the pork roulade and it was good, but not excellent. The asparagus and potatoes were yummy. The chocolate flourless torte is super dense and rich - if you love chocolate you will love this. Some say it tastes like fudge, but I do not like fudge but liked this. The red velvet cheesecake was just ok - nothing special. The raspberry creme brulee was very good but after 2 bites it was too creamy. The duck duo had way too much lemon curd on the plate and made it difficult to avoid. The dish was just ok. The food is ok, but not excellent. We skipped on the drinks as they seemed more inflated than necessary - especially because Pontch is not known to be a premier mixology destination. Valet parking is free with validation at the hostess stand. The view is amazing and the service is great. Overall, I would probably not come back given that the food was just ok and nothing amazing.
