Enjoy American Southwestern cuisine featuring salads, sandwiches, pasta, fresh seafood, mesquite-grilled steaks, and house-made desserts. One menu is served all day. Tonto Bar & Grill, gives diners a view of modern desert life with a peek into the past. The restaurant sits on what was once Native American land and later used as a stopover camp for the U.S. Cavalry, and the building itself was part of the prestigious Rancho Mañana dude ranch. It’s chock-full of the charm of earlier eras, displaying ranching implements, vintage 1940s photos and original architecture. Today, friendly service, fine casual cuisine, and comfortable atmosphere combine for a rustic yet upscale dining experience.

Outdoor setting was beautiful and serene
Food was good but dessert was exceptional
Well worth the price. Food was amazing. Drinks were a little expensive.
Excellent food, service and ambience. Will definitely come back!
Great service however, the restaurant is very dark and loud. Food was basic, nothing special or worth the price.
Restaurant week meal was delicious! Staff was very friendly and service was great! Let the temperature drop a little more and enjoy the outdoor patio area.
Amazing food, every dish was exceptionally delicious. Friendly and attentive service and a welcoming environment. Cocktails were tasty and unique…entire dining experience was top notch.
We love dining at Tonto and always have a great meal there. This time they offered a three course menu for Restaurant Week. Two of our party had crab cakes and salmon, two of us had corn chowder and the short rib, and we all had the prickly pear tart for dessert. Everything was delicious. I do miss the way they used to prepare the short rib with a root beer glaze, but the new preparation is good. It was very crowded and noisy inside but we still enjoyed the evening.
We arrived on time and were seated immediately in the location we had reserved. Our two servers were patient as we were with new friends and wanted to talk before we ate. Our final server, from Boston, was witty and fun loving. We razed her and she razed us right back; it was an enjoyable banter because our friends had lived in Boston. Food was very good; we had the fixed price meal. Evening was successful as we hope to have dinner together again.
Got a great intimate table outside. I had sands s, harvest salad- both were fantastic! Husband has gamekeeper pasta which he lived as well. Splurged for the lemon tart dessert- impeccable! Thanks for the great evening!!

Corn chowder is a must. Everything on the table was tasty. Service was good.
Great flavor combinations and perfect preparations from appetizers through dessert!
Very good. Only disappointed in the service in that she made us feel rushed. Also, I stated when I made the reservation it was a birthday dinner, but no acknowledgement to it was made. A little disappointed. Food was excellent and love the atmosphere. It wasn’t to loud, but could have been if it was busier.
A very enjoyable experience. Food was delicious and not so much that we were able to finish it all. The wait staff was friendly and very attentive without being intrusive. We’ll definitely be back.
waitress was highly average, indirectly pressured me to tip 20% by filling out the 20% tip choice and then staying at table while i decided which bubble to click, never offered any kind of complimentary dessert or drink for our 31's anniversary, we even directly told her and nothing, not even a congratulations, we also used operable to include the fact that it was our 31st anniversary - no mention of it. Also - my wife salmon was undercooked.
The meal was excellent. The service was great. Loved it!
Good food, high price. Comfy seating, pleasant atmosphere.
Booked a reservation for an outside table for my granddaughter and boyfriend. They didn't get one and were not told why. They are from back East and we wanted them to experience an AZ evening dining out.
They left our house at 6:40 for a 7 reservation. They drove there, had dinner and were home by 8.
Were quiet when we asked how it was.
One meal was very good the other not that good the steak was very good the fish presentation was not up to what I expected and the preparation was very poor to what I thought it would have been
Great service. We’ll balanced menu. Awesome setting off the course.
We have been coming to Tonto for decades. It’s close, easy and always such a pleasant experience. We’ve come for everyday eating and special occasions and it’s always been a solid choice. This time, however, I have to admit I left disappointed and I don’t know how often we’ll come back. I know the pandemic has hit things hard, but this restaurant had none of the wines in stock (on their menu) that we wanted, and we ended up with a subpar alternative. On a positive note, the food was still pretty good, and the bread was good (though they now charge for it), atmosphere is nice, view of golf course and grounds is peaceful and special, service is lovely, and the overall prices are extremely reasonable. I was disappointed also to learn that the second favorite thing I came for…what I thought was their house made salted caramel gelato, had changed. It no longer has those delightful little bits of caramel covered in dark chocolate that made it so special. It was just ‘meh’ and not worth the calories. The other flavors were the same..just ‘ok’. I learned that they changed which vendor they received the gelato from, which was a double disappointment because I thought they made it in house! Doesn’t it say house made on the menu? Maybe not. Anyway, I’d much rather see this place raise their prices by $10-$15 dollars than cut corners like that. I’m worried Tonto is on the path of her sister restaurant Cartwrights, also previously one of our favorites until they started cutting corners and eventually went out of business. Word to the wise, with some many local repeat customers..we notice the decline. Honestly, this will be my last special occasion meal at Tonto for sure. Sadly.
Not up to their normal quality
superb restaurant. The Walleye reminds me of my time in the midwest. Great ambiance, value.
We dined here for my sons 20th birthday! We were a party of 8. The food was great service was good as well. 2 things stop me from giving a 5 star review. One was the lack of acknowledgment that we were celebrating a birthday. I informed the server when we sat down and put notes in our reservation . Even some of the highest end restaurants will acknowledge a special occasion with a small complimentary desert . The second issue was the fact that they charge for a bread basket on the table.
We dine here often, and are pleased to see some new items pop up on the menu. They were very busy on this Sat eve, so we weren't too surprised when it was taking a lot longer than usual for our appetizer to come out. However, it got beyond the "acceptable" wait barrier, and our waitress apologized, said it was due to a new computer system, and we ended up not being charged for a yummy humus/pita/vege platter. As usual, hubby got the burger and I ordered the newly minted chili relleno. We were both very happy with our entrees, Hope they smooth out the food delivery issues, but we will return.
Schnitzel best I've had since Germany. Nice food and place to eat. A touch on the pricey side
TOO NOISY.. Food not as good as usual
Service was incredibly slow. No one came back to ask if we would like another glass of wine.& had to go find someone to get our bill. Usually, a very good place. Disappointed this time.
This was our first dinner at Tonto Bar and Grill. We reserved a table for 5 and all of us ordered different meals, including the night's special. Everything was excellent. Our waiter was wonderful, and went above and beyond - including getting a non-alcoholic frozen drink for my daughter, and handling a few substitutions, all of which arrived exactly as ordered. The main courses were all served in a timely manner, and arrived at the table at the same time - this on a busy Friday evening. Desserts were beautifully presented, unique and delicious! We will return!
Went with friends and had a fabulous meal with great company! I even had leftovers for the next day!!!
Amazing food and service!!
Traveling on vacation and stopped in cave creek for a few days before heading home. The guy who let us into the
Rental made a comment about the bar on the golf course. We made reservations for 6:30 pm. Arrived in the rain but was greeted by two friendly faces and were promptly seated.
Drinks were fantastic and the food was better than I was expecting.
Chips salsa and guacamole. Then a burger and fries. Outstanding!
Keep up the good work.
Just wish I had left room for desert!
Food quality and service were very good. Presentation was not up to the standard that was experienced prior to the pandemic shut down. Love the atmosphere. Staff are always very customer focused.
Disappointing. This was a special occasion that fell below our expectations. Outside seating was not available, food was subpar when it is usually very good, ambiance was so-so. Not at all what we usually experience at Tontos.
Good food. Pretentious customer base. Went with two children and people looked at us like we had two heads.
The walleye dish was superb! Great service. Love this place!
Dinner was perfect. We sat at the bar for dinner. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. The drinks were refreshing.
