Everything was great I showed up late and they were still able to accommodate my girlfriend and I. The food was good and drinks were strong. It's a bit pricey but The experience and service makes up for price.

We love this place. Despite it's flaws, the place is still worth a visit every time we're in SF. We are avid "tikiphiles" and visit Tiki style establishments all over North America and beyond, and we are vegetarians. The food and drink quality has vastly improved since our first visit in 2012. There are several decent vegetarian options and good traditional classic tiki drinks, But the one thing that we find is always consistent is the lack of attention to the very important detail of mood and ambiance from the music played in this most wonderful visual environment. Tonga Room is one of the oldest Tiki style establishments in the USA, and retains it's wonderful interior in superb condition. In a world class city, it's baffling that this place misses the opportunity to take this place all the way to amazing by being sensitive to the music in the space. We suggest acknowledging the volumes of exotic music from the past such as that of Arthur Lyman, Martin Denny, Les Baxter, Gene Rains, for instance......or even Hawaiian music or...at the very least a jazz combo rather than the anything goes top 40 from the 70's, 80's, 90's. Completing the equation of loveliness by correcting the musical aspect will take this wonderful place all the way to fantastic.

The service and the atmosphere were excellent but the food/drinks did not reflect the price that was charged. It's good to experience. For the price, however, I was expecting more.

Fun to see once. Food is really terrible and expensive. Recommend going for drinks and appetizers and the rain + band after 8.

Way over priced. Menu didn't match what was online. Mongolian beef was dry and had 0 taste, sent that back. Pineapple juice in our drinks was from a tap, not fresh and was carbonated (yuk). We expected so much more. Huge disappointment. Save your money, to many street corner places that blow their food away to make this a stop when in San Francisco.

Fun old style Tiki Lounge. The original. Expect noisy bar and loud band- not good music this night but enthusiastic band playing 70's music. RSVP well in advance.
