The food wasn't horrible but when you walked in it was very damp and musty. I expected it to be cleaner. This server was disinterested. I just expected it to be a different vibe. There were a bunch of 50-year-old men at the bar looking for a hookup. It was just a weird vibe. I could see if you were 20 and wicked drunk, It being a fun time. But other than that it just smells like a frat house and if you're over 25, it's probably not the situation for you.

Food was mediocre to decent. Drinks were okay. Band was good. Wouldn’t come back for food, possibly for drinks only.

This may be a fun touristy spot to take the kids, but the food is mediocre and the prices astronomical. $25 for a cocktail! The fried calamari was not fresh, it tasted fishy, and it had no flavor. The egg rolls tasted like they just came out of the freezer. The entrees weren't too bad, but not worth the price. We had a banana split for dessert which was very underwhelming.

It’s definitely an experience you have to have at least one time in your life. For me I definitely want to go back for more. The food was fantastic and the drinks were phenomenal. The waiter was friendly and on top of everything. The atmosphere was phenomenal. It was so amazing how that boat just pulled away from the little dock and they had a band playing great music. It just set the mood. With a little rain, storm and thunder and lightning, it was magical.

We had a wonderful experience again at the Tonga Room. We love the menu and the service was fantastic!! Our family was celebrating our mom’s 91st birthday. Tonga Room is a great place to celebrate any special occasion.

First time patron at the Tonga Room, and couldn’t be more disappointed… No swizzle sticks, no backscratcher in the Tropical Itch, $25 sliders (2 no Mac salad), and as the garnish, $15 per person for the “entertainment”, which is a soft rock cover band… 6 days a week 70s-90s cover band not tiki at all. If you want a tiki experience maybe try before 7pm when the band starts. Sold out of mugs too. Had high hopes but totally disappointed.

Cocktails were good, especially the Zombie. The korean kalbi beef short rib appetizer was disgusting.

We had a great time at the Fairmont Tonga Room and Hurricane Bar in San Francisco! The tropical theme was spot on—fun, immersive, and full of character. Drinks were strong and well-crafted, food was tasty, and the service was warm and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a lively, themed experience in the city.
