   This year’s New Year’s Eve event had much better food and service, things went well and the food was good. Too much food for me and my husband. We enjoyed dancing to Da Island band with cover songs from the 70s, 80s, 90s and more, very fun crowd.

   New Year’s Eve. It’s incredible that for this kind of celebration all the drinks need to be paid. I would expect by the price charged and the location to have at least a bottle of wine included. Only one glass of champagne for the toast. At 00:30 music stopped and everybody left. It could be due to COVID Protocol but once already in, why not continuing until later.

   New Year’s Eve during year two of Covid-19 with a surge in cases is the setting of the tale: we ventured out with confidence that the Tonga room staff would work to make our evening as safe as possible. We were not disappointed. We thoroughly enjoyed the band and all the service team was excellent. We enjoyed most of the food and appreciated that it was served at our table instead of in a buffet. There was a lot more food than we could enjoy 😉. It was a very fun way to spend New Year’s Eve.

    This was a 'set' New Years Eve dinner - for the price, the first drink could have been included in the price - service was excellent - band was excellent - all in all, I think it was a good evening.

    DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I saw good reviews about this place so I booked but it was horrendous. Firstly everyone in there was so drunk people couldn't walk in a straight line let alone the two people I found on the floor near the toilets. They charged us $10 per person for live music that wasn't mentioned when we booked. The music was poor, the fact that it rains made it slightly more entertaining. The food was worse than a Chinese take out! Cheap ingredients, full of salt and MSG's and so expensive e.g sweet and sour pork (no rice) $28. I happily spend $300-400 on a meal that's good but this place is a total rip off! The cocktails again were cheap and just all based around how much alchol was in them. Maybe a 21st birthday venue but that's all I would recommend this place for.

    certainly worth a cicst if you've never been. they gave really good drinks. great ambiance. my recommendation would be for the drinks. the food was lukewarm annd meh. the drinks made the evening. great wait staff too recap.. go foer the tiki drinks!

    I took my boyfriend out for several special occasions. At first, it was very complicated to communicate with this restaurant. I was calling to tell them I will be ten minutes late due to traffic. I was so nervous my table I reserved will be given to someone else. I was upset coming into the place. The place itself is so beautiful and breath taking. I was happy I still had my table I reserved but a bit disappointed that it was not the table I really wanted. I wanted next to the water next to the live music especially for it being over a month reservation. It was still a good view just difficult to take pictures without someone being in the picture. The waiter we had was so nice and friendly and helped us out with our decisions and picture taking. The food is incredible!!There was no left over to take home. The drinks are pricey but worth it. It is really strong! It is a kick every sip. The live music was the cherry on top! The band played good music and very upbringing. It had me dancing in my seats even though I wanted to stand up and dance. I think if the seating arrangement were spaced out I could dance without being in someone way. At the end, I talked to the manager and she was really nice and understood my concerns. She helped me for future help. Overall, really good place to go to. I am coming back with family and friends. My boyfriend was very happy with his surprise leaving him with a smile on his face, filled tummy and buzzed. haha.

    Our server, David, was amazing! It was my grandmother's birthday and he REALLY made her feel special. The band was on point with their 70's funky beats, so it was great for my mother too! It was great atmosphere, but the food was just ok. The fried whole snapper was the only dish that I would order again.

    I love tiki bars and this is a classic! Inside of the Fairmount, great neighborhood, a true landmark. Read up on the old days of this bar and you will want to come seek out history. Amazing experience with the food, drinks and service. We will be back!

    Was super excited to go to Tonga, but its just an overpriced rainforest cafe with a "tiki" theme. I could drink with the best of em however I had trouble downing the pre-made swill they were pushing for $15+. Lets go to the food which they were out of 3 things on their limited menu. Food was ok but I had indigestion for hours after. Oh yeah, and if you see the 3 piece cover band, you gotta pay 10 bucks. Have fun!

    I rarely if ever leave a negative review as I always feel that most establishments are doing their best. However, this was the biggest waste of money in a long time. We scheduled a party of 6 persons for a 60th birthday party. The food was atrocious. Overpriced and tasteless. The draw is the band that is excellent and the retro-environment which hasn't changed in 40 years. With cover charge, drinks and tip, over $700 for 6 people. Ouch!

    The place is really cool has great vibes and the service and wait staff were very kind and attentive. However VERY overpriced. Also a band plays and if you are seated at the table you have to each pay a $10 cover which was just ridiculous to us. Someone had given us that dinner as a gift if it was on our budget we wouldn't have gone. Just go to the bar for a drink and get an app don't pay 50 bucks for one entree.

    We had a lovely time, however there were a group of youngsters there that were very drunk (or something else) and they were bothering everyone. They were there before we got there and left a few minutes before us after making a scene. It changed the vibe of the night for us as we were keeping an eye on them. Other than that, we loved it

    Pleasantly surprised. We have full on tourists mode in our heads, but drinks were good and food was good. At the bar waiting for our table the bartender made a Shirley Temple and a Lemonade for our kids in the coconuts glasses with pineapple and umbrella. They were thrilled. Not a long wait for our reservation and we were seated. Not right next to the pool but it was fine. Band played and music was not unbearable as far as noise level. I had macadamia encrusted mahi mahi which was delish. My daughter had a noodle chicken and shrimp stir fry which she liked except they added tofu which was odd in a dish that already had meat. There is a kids menu. My son ordered sweet and sour pork. My husband had only ordered the pineapple shrimp fried rice knowing he would be finishing most of my sons meal. The whole night worked out better than expected.

    Thought it was a bar feel.. Turned out to be a family restaurant AND charge an additional 10$ PER PERSON if you were NOT A HOTEL GUEST. No seats at bar more of a sit down dinning restaurant

    Meal and drinks were good but the staff let a nearby private party completely over run the area we were in. Constantly bumped into, with people walking up and putting their drinks on our table, etc. The staff did nothing to address the issue and even with multiple people in our party complaining the management still did nothing to really address the issue. Disappointing experience overall after waiting several months for the reservation.

    I had been there before and everything but the hostess was up to par. For some reason the young lady was very short and crusty with us. I realize she was training another but she wasn't very professional in her job. I hope the trainee doesn't pick up her bad habits. If we went without a reservation and she was there I would have left.

    Had a great time. Live music was awesome. Ambiance was beautiful. They only sell Rum which isn't my choice if liquor so night was cut short so we could attend another bar. Other than that it is pricey for what you get. Dont think I would attend again but it was a nice experience.

    This place was amazing. Shout out to our waiter Bash who was the friendliest person. Went out for date night with my girlfriend. We ordered the vegetable pot stickers to start off, then for the main course my girlfriend ordered the sweet and sour pork (very good) and I ordered the Wagyu Tri Tip (the best damn beef I've ever tasted). For our sides we ordered the pineapple fried rice and the stir fried garlic asparagus (both delicious). Needless to say there were no leftovers!

    I made a 6:30 p.m. dinner reservation two months ahead, so we could eat at this iconic restaurant before attending the musical "Hamilton". I mentioned to our waiter when we sat down that we had tickets to the show. He made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy our "1944" Mai Tai's, Pupu plate, and Rum cake. It was a night my granddaughter, my daughter and I will never forget. The Tonga Room certainly lived up to it's fabulous reputation.

    Buddy flew in town and wanted to do something different. Food was awesome, service great, but the band was almost to loud. Being charged an admission fee for a 9pm reservation was a little bothersome. Cool dogs probably won't be back though

    Took the kids to this super fun place. My daughter even bought a Hawaiian shirt for the occasion. The band was super awesome, as was the ambiance. The food was good and they even had mocktails for the kids. Love, love, loved it.

    Even though we have been here before it was on my sister's bucket list. The ambiance was as great as I remember, the food was horrible, drinks overpriced but fun. The staff was kind enough to let us know if you are still seated at 8pm then everyone at the table is charged an additional $10 for being present when the entertainment starts.
