    In a time when the world feels perilous, it is rare to find a group that synchronizes its energy and focus on the true meaning of what Hawaiians call “ʻOhana,” let alone the true essence of “Aloha.” Well, I’m here to tell you that my family was blessed to have dined at Tommy Bahama Mauna Lani, under the expert guidance of our incredible waitress, Susy! To be honest, she was more like a food concierge—hitting on every incredible recommendation and permanently deleting the term “waitress” or “server” from my mental landscape. From the beginning, we were greeted so warmly by the host, who seated us at what she called her favorite seat in the house. She couldn’t have been more honest or correct. We had an incredible view and shade to accompany such fantastic food. The food as a whole was delicious, but it was truly the service from each and every team member we encountered throughout the restaurant that was most memorable. I’ve been coming to the islands for over 25 years, and I’ve noticed that the spirit of Hawaiian “Aloha” has undoubtedly changed for the worse. You no longer see or hear that random stranger greeting you with a warm “Aloha, bruddah!”—it’s been replaced by more of a mainland mentality, where everyone is individually focused on themselves and cares less about service or gratitude. However, this place has indeed brought that old charm back! They are a true representation of what the islands are—warm, welcoming, beautiful, and most of all, ʻOhana (family). Mahalo, Susy, David, and the rest of the team, for delivering such epic service! We will return!

    This Tommy Bahama is a consistent winner. It must be managed well because the employees have been there a long time. I live on Big Island and don't usually go to chains. This restaurant breaks all the stereotypes . The food is consistently excellent. The service consistently great. They have runners bring out the food while it is hot. Kitchen is usually pretty fast. All in all, the corporation hit a home run with this restaurant!

    Thoroughly enjoyed our dinning experience at Tommy Bahama’s in Mauna Lani. The food was delicious, especially the scallop sliders, macadamia nut-crusted mahi mahi and char-grilled filet mignon salad. The portions were larger than expected. And the service from Susan was top notch. Plus, they have great Happy Hour options. Truly one of the best dining options on the Big Island!

    Really enjoyed our dinner last night. Had the new shrimp dumplings, the scallop sliders, the lobster spring rolls and grilled asparagus. Pineapple coconut cake for dessert - the best! Disappointed with the sangria this time - no fruit at all in the pitcher!
