Tomas Bistro was carved out of an old factory in the Warehouse District and made to house a French Creole style bistro. The interior is unusual in its simplicity, with heavy use of mahogany wood & French decor and music, Tomas creates the feeling and look of France. The food was well prepared, but the portions were barely adequate for the price. Our party was there for a birthday celebration, and barely received a Happy Birthday from the waiter. Many other restaurants in the same price range would present a complimentary dessert or drink for such an occasion. Not so at Tomas Bistro. Also, the menu on their website AND at the door listed entrees that were no longer available, leading to some disappointment. For my money I would prefer to dine elsewhere.

The restaurant failed on all accounts. I had such high hopes based on the reviews and both the service (really bad) and the food (marginally good in a city with great food) were substandard. The pompano was way over cooked, the pecan crusted drum lacked flavor and the service was not attentive nor timely.
I would recommend going elsewhere as the city of New Orleans has much better options within 3 blocks.

We were Looking forward to a date night dinner. The food and service did not disappoint, however the atmosphere could use some attention. For starters a restaurant of this quality doesn't need a TV, this is not a sports bar.
The decor needs a bit of updating, however the event room appeared to be much up to date and elegant.
Overall a.very good experience. We would go back for food and less for an elegant evening date.

Luke was an outstanding waiter -- attentive when necessary; otherwise, stayed in the background and allowed us to enjoy our time together and the meal. The food was very good except for one issue -- the lobster bisque, which was not at all acceptable. Two out of four at our table ordered it; and both returned the bisque after a small tasting. I, too, tasted it and concurred. So, on the first level we were disappointed with the lobster bisque. Second, I was disappointed the 2 bisques were not removed from the bill. This should be standard practice at any restaurant. Regretfully we were under a tight timetable, so I let that oversight pass. However, the next time I visit Tomas Bistro -- well, suffice to say, I'm sure it won't happen again. It is still worth a try.

Ordered my steak medium rare and it came well done. Considering that we were one of 4 tables and we could not get anyone​'s attention for almost 10 minutes after the food came.

Someone must think this is a nightclub! The lights are so low that on cannot read the menu and the music is too loud for this restaurant setting, especially when full of patrons talking. Other than that it is a very nice place to go.

Looking for a quieter place, off the beaten track of tourists and tourist focused food. Tomas Bistro was a lucky find. The Scallop appetizer was excellent and my rack of lamb was perfectly cooked, green beans were thin and crisp and the sauce was rich and flavorful. The chocolate cake for desert was perfect as well. Great wine list - and our server did an excellent job. I would certainly eat here again.
